I'm working for a trade company in Korea and am Korean. it's very exciting to see what it's all about Med School life in the UK. Also really thanks for your videos, I'm learning English through your videos. The way people think of is really similar to here! hahaha
Hey Lydia I just wanted to ask you , during your resit exams last year , how did you manage to avoid getting depressed and studying . I keep on having bad thoughts as all my friends passed but I failed . I stuggled a lot this year and didn t make it so i feel so down , so lonely , no energy . I tried not to isolate myself but people keep on making me feel worse and their help makes me feel pathetic even tho they are doing it with great intentions . Plus passing seems so hard and far , im scared
I'm so so sorry you're feeling like this, I really understand the things you're feeling after last summer and it's mentally very difficult. When I first found out i failed, the pressure of having one chance to resit was immense and overwhelming but the things that helped me were accepting the bits I was weaker at and focusing on those & reminding yourself you've sat the exams once, you are only going to improve if you keep studying! I still met up with friends and had some fun while i was revising for the resits and that was so important in keeping me from getting down. If you can, try and reach out to others who are resitting or speak to you uni tutor about how you're feeling. Wishing you all the best and once you've got through this you'll feel so much more confident :-) x
I love it!! Keep your stunning energy up! I'm too curious if which tool do you use as you're recording these vlogs, is it your phone? when you reply it, it'll make my day ❤
Hope your exams go well this year Lydia. Interesting to see you in the library at University of Winchester. I used to be assistant accountant there. Could you not get the train from Southampton to Winchester? Just one stop up the line, I think. Just a thought.
Thank you!! I have actually hopped on the train a few times and it’s much quicker than a bus but unfortunately I don’t live very near the station so it ends up taking a similar time 😅
It depends how clinical your 2nd year exams are! I used quesmed in 2nd year because they have pre-clinical question banks, I think passmed have something similar too. Zero to finals has been so good for third year and I wish I’d used it sooner but I also think it’s very clinically focused so doesn’t cover the underlying pathophysiology in the detail you might need for 2nd year - I loved Teach Me Physiology and Teach Me Anatomy for that :)
Oh third year is SO LONG, watching everyone start to enjoy their summer when I still have seven full weeks of placement to go before my 2 week break is soul crushing 🥲🥲
I mean at least I got 2 weeks off for Easter instead of one 😅 clearly the med schools all hate us, dragging the year out for this long is just rude ahaha xx
Focus on medicine, don’t worry about us, we’ll all still be here when you have time to vlog! Keep up the good work!

Awww thank SO much! I used my iPhone to vlog occasionally but most of this was filmed on a canon G7X. For about 2 years I did just use my iPhone :) x
what app do you use to make notes? just wondering as I was to be a trauma surgeon and there are lots of notes I need to write down.

Would you recommend zero to finals, passmed and quizmed for second year students?

Oh no 🙈 did you not enjoy 4th year?! Hartley was awful in exam season but not it’s just us third years left we have the whole place to ourselves 😅
