Something most Christians do not know is Jacob Israel had only One Son who's Name = Character is Benjamin which means Son of my Right Hand. Jacob before becoming Israel had 10 other Sons who 's leader was Judah and consisted of the 10 Sons of the Fleshly Nature of Jacob. They were called the House of Judah in the Bible where as the descendants of Benjamin were called the house of Israel. Also Jacob had 14 Sons not 12 because He adopted Joseph's 2 Sons Ephraim and Manasseh who became the 2 tribes making 12 because Joseph and Levi were special and had special Functions. Jacob had 10 Fleshly Son's by Leah but only 2 By His Beloved Rachel who's name mean's a female sheep of El = God. Please read Gospel of John 1: 43 - 51 and the story of Nathanael Who's Character Name Means Given of God. If you are Given of God through Grace Faith you are in reality a Israelite because blood in the vain means nothing but FAITH IN THE HEART MEAN EVERYTHING > Saved by Grace through Faith Alone and that Makes a Person A Spiritual Son of GOD Within. Thank you Dr Lebish. I wish to add that Jacob, in his repented heart, was trying to show God of his desire to be in Covenant (sacred family bond) with God. His wrestling, striving, clinging, cleaving with the Angel was Jacob’s sign of the Covenant. It is a picture or type of Genesis 2:24 : Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. So the message I take is that signs are important to the Lord. We are called to show signs that we have great desire to be joined together in the New and Eternal Covenant with our Lord Jesus Christ.
