0:40 Haha I’m watching this in San Diego. I just had my first surf class and our water was really cold and it was misty. So jealous of Floridas heat rn
Those are really small waves. I have a Wave Bandit 5' 8" retro fish, and I would be struggling to paddle into those. You look really comfortable with that board. I'm looking into an 8' or 9' longboard for days like these.
Thinkin a 7’ or 8’ log here soon. 9’ seems too much board. I have a 54” Beater and it’s SO MUCH FUN. Just hard to catch and stand up on bigger waves with it.
I would think catching more waves without difficulty would outweigh the lack of maneuverability. But then I've never surfed a 9' Log. Looks fun! I'm trying to buy a 6' Log, but living in Mexico is making it a challenge. Enjoy!
I once had the 8’ and a buddy of mine had the 7’ both were great boards! The 9’ is just a boat! The thing will catch a shin high wave and if it has a little line to it you could ride it 100 yards easy!
Ok.. Debate. Im a beginner surfer (i can stand up most tries on small waves) and am looking for a longboard to perfect my popups and stability, but also want a longboard for the long run when I get good and want to just go chill with my log. Is this a good choice, or should I go with something even easier and cheaper? For context also debating getting a 7' foot funboard for learning how to shortboard. Any input welcome thanks
What size is the board that you’ve been riding? I would go with a 7 to 9 foot soft top. They catch every wave; the 7 foot you can learn how to do some turns and some slow cutbacks but it’s definitely more maneuverable then a 9
Definitely get one of these. I own the 9 0 log, 8 6 nose rider and 7 0 log. I would highly recommend the 7 0 once you start to feel confident. You’ll be first on the wave every time😊
As someone who was once in your position, I think that having an 8' or 9' longboard is important if the surf is really small. You realistically need a quiver depending on the conditions. I'm on a 5' 8" Wave Bandit Retro Fish, and I wish I had something bigger for when the surf is small. I'm probably going to pick up an 8' longboard to have for smaller days. For larger days, I'll just stick with my Retro Fish. I have a friend who has surfed since he was a kid, and he has a ton of different boards.
Just bought this one! Does it have the wave file print at the bottom as well?
Foamies rule! I have a 6’ log and also a stump. Need to add the big dog to the quiv though. Keep ripping yeeeeeewww 🤙🏽
Hell yeah!! I want a 6’ log next! I have a feeling that thing would be fun!
@@naturallysalty yeh definitely a good time! You will froth it!!

I’d go with the 9’ it’ll catch far more!!! With these things you can legit catch a wave any day at a beach
@@naturallysalty Thanks!

I think my next will be the 6’5” fish! Gonna use it for hurricane swell!

A 6’ would be sick! Won’t have a problem maneuvering that one!!
Nice vibe! Subbed 🤙🌊
Thanks 🙏🏼
nice video, howd you attach a go pro to your soft top? i have a catch surf board as well
Amazon has a soft top mount, however you have to put a hole in your board to attach the mount
Awesome! I’m having a hard time deciding between the 8’0 and 9’0 for summer waves in perth Australia! What made you go the 9’0?

Hey, if funds allow, you could always just get both.

I bought a 9’0 it catches everything, but it’s just not maneuverable
Yeah! it’s taking me some time to figure out walking up and down it!
drove all that way for poop.
