Thank you for this bountiful classic German Christmas dinner video.I miss Bavaria soooooooooooooo much. Have a blessed, peaceful, healthy and SAFE holiday! MERRY CHRISTMAS to all my German and American family and friends!
This is a fantastic spread you made!! This popped up and my older son lives in Berlin, Germany. I decided to watch this!!! Amazing job you did. We ate at a German restaurant in Minneapolis, MN in 2017. My son and I shared a huge meal for 2 that had all of this on the plate!!! I still have photos of the restaurant and our food!! You did a fantastic job doing this German Christmas meal 👍
So many of us West Virginians have German heritage. It's refreshing to see some of the wonderful recipes of our ancestors. Thank you! Merry Christmas wonderful lady!
I will be making the same Red Cabbage and Potato Dumplings along with Beef Roulades for our employees this Christmas. So wonderful! I have only had the Potato Dumplings hold together once but I keep trying. I turn them into Potato Soup when they don’t make it. Merry Christmas to all!
Kristi, Kristi, Kristi….outstanding! Love that you are doing these around the world episodes highlighting their signature dishes!! I can you this, I will be making those potato dumplings to go with the baked stuff shrimp on Christmas Day! They look so light and fluffy, melt in your mouth type of dumpling!!! Can’t wait! ❤️😘
It’s interesting to see how others make these familiar German dishes. I bought my red cabbage, apples and onions yesterday since my son requests it quite often, especially for Christmas. My recipe is a little different though since I don’t use wine. My husband is German, born in Germany, and we love German food. I’ve never seen a gravy on the Bratwurst though, usually the potato dumpling is served with a gravy. I tried making the dumplings once and my water was bubbling too much and my dumplings fell apart. I’ll have to try them again. My Mother’n’law taught me how to make Hungarian Goulash, which is also eaten in Germany. Many times I have made Weinerschnitzel with paprika caper sauce, home fried potatoes, and red cabbage for Christmas dinner. We love that stuff!
My mom's family had Swedish, Norwegian, Germany, Bohemian and Irish roots, lol. We ate dishes from all of them ( not that I knew it at the time). In my Christmas stocking as a child I always got a tin of sardines and loved them as my grandpa ate them too. How many kids 4-5 y.o. eat creamed herring, sardines, sour kraut and sausages. I had no clue.
Vanillecreme mit frischen Früchten, Schokoladencreme o.a.
Hello! I was looking for some German inspiration for this Christmas. Thank you. And just a question. What could be a good dessert that goes well with this meal? Thank you and GOD BLESS YOU

She didn't say but would they stay together if the potatoes were cold? I'd love to try these but afraid they'd fall apart too! Merry Xmas
I believe my mistake was having the water boiling and the boil action broke them apart. I will have to follow her directions and see what happens.
Thanks for the potato soup idea! In these days of expensive food we must remember to "waste not, want not".
That looks delicious! Christmas or not I am going to try making that.

Yes the Red Cabbage is definitely my new favorite and I can see why it is so popular. Thanks Diane!
