You guys should make a video about how ffp works and general rules for example if man united can get out of ffp if possible or can Saudi ownership rescue united,I guess I would like to know if man united can be rescued,I believe in amorim but with the set of players at united, relagation looks possible
When did J.J. start wearing shirts with button-down collars? I still think of him as wearing only t-shirts. When did he start morphing into his middle-aged form?
Isak - £63m plus addons so around £70m plus Real Sociedad will have 15-20% sell on fee, So just to break even Newcastle would need to sell him for £85m! that's with zero profit after taking a £70m gamble on him in the premier league! That means really its gonna be a minimum of £125m to buy him and even then that's only £40m profit to Newcastle which isn't great for one of the best strikers in the league. It would prob take £150m to make them sell him with a contract to 2028 which Arsenal cant afford. So end of discussion by using actual logic and facts.
Haha so true. They only thing that undermines this is with amortisation actually isak on paper may be valued at say 40 mill right now. (not his worth just what is on paper on the accounts) so actually selling him for 100mill may realise a 60 mill profit for newacastle to actually go ahaad and spend right now and stay inline with fsp.
It’s never that simple. But I don’t think we even want him. I think Sesko is who we have firmly in our sights while also monitoring Gyokeres. We ain’t paying more than £100m for Isak and he’s worth more than that to Newcastle (probably). Plus the fact he’s injury prone - I think it’s all talk. Newcastle got a fair deal and he’s working for them. That’s it.
This feels odd. These two used to be different groups just overlapped, TIFO and the other one where Hamil was. Ornstein to boot. The Athletic just owns everything and everyone now.
Re: Robinson - he was actually tested out in those central areas by Pochettino in the latest USMNT match, and he seemed quite comfortable and adept in the role. It remains to be seen how that carries over to tougher competition, though.
38:04 I'm sick of hearing about this 30 goals season, he's done it once at a time when his contract was going to expire and even then it was mostly a purple patch for a couple of months. I once threw a cigarette at a friends head when he wasn't looking and it landed perfectly between his fingers, just because I did that once doesn't mean I can repeat it.
Two up front died long before Guardiola. Let’s not pretend Guardiola completely redesigned football, when the real pioneers were people like Cruyff, Michels, Bielsa, Rangnick. Pep combined all these pioneers and put them in teams that included some of the best players to have ever played the game.
If a Saudi club offered Newcastle 200 million for Isak they would definitely go for it, whether he would go is a different story. Outside of that I don't think any one in the Premier League has the money to shell out that Newcastle would ask for, given his contract has 4 years left to run. PSG might do it for say 150 million and then Newcastle have a serious decision to make.
Definitely, Newcastle will never sell him to another competitor prem club, they've been open about that being their policy. Isak is happy at Newcastle, and contracted till 2028. This idea that he's itching to join the bottlers at arsenal is utter nonsense. Realistically if he leaves it will be to Barca to replace Lewandowski or to PSG for stupid money.
@@oitoitoi1 I think he'd jump at the chance to join Arsenal. It would be a great move for him. Barcelona cant afford him and PSG are not much of a side these days. I have a sneaky feeling he'll go to City though
Im wondering whether we are looking at Delap - Jota is probably no.1 but the injuries. Darwin bless his soul doesnt have quite the composure or finishing to be the no.1 (has pretty much everything else - speed, strength, movement etc)
42:10 while it makes sense for Mainoo to get behind Nunes to create a better attack, does it not leave a massive hole behind Amad if the pass gets misplaced and City then have a massive advantage to counter because there's only the CB v Haaland once the pass is completed.
Amorim doesn’t care about how they dress and eat. He was just using that as an example for his attention to detail under a theory of ‘how you do everything is how you do anything’. It’s about looking at someone and their actions holistically not just looking at the details in isolation
I've been saying it for so long Liam was good enough to be our backup striker as soon as alvarez left I was hoping we'd give him a chance and he's a youth player and there's no harm in buying him back and giving him minutes especially when haaland isn't getting service to offer something else
I wonder why they seem to minimize Robinson's attributes. I mean all they did was show some data on where some backs spend time on the field, with little to nothing about what they've been *doing* there comparatively. Ex - TAA literally can't defend on the outside, and when Klopp used him there anyway he was exposed over and over again. Now he's being protected by not asking him to defend like a fullback. Robinson on the other hand is a great defender in that position and has had the numbers to prove it for a few years now. What he's added this year is the final product in the attacking 3rd. Also interesting to note that almost the 1st thing Pochettino did was try inverting Robinson in the attacking 3rd. And he was quite effective there 1st time out. So if you want to talk about versatility as a left back, TAA is being played where he is because he *can't* do the other thing. I'd *love* to see how someone like Slot would utilize Robinson.
He is a unique and talented individual (retired to become a successful actor in France) and he would dress like that at events while others wore suits. SAF didn’t even try to get him to conform because of his incredible talent and because no disrespect was intended: “that’s just Eric.” Absolute United and PL legend.

Unspoken thing about this transfer is it means that one of Trossard, Jesus, Martinelli is long-term out the door. If they cancel the Sterling loan and buy Lookman for 40m it's a solid 9/10 transfer, but I don't trust that price. Also, he's secretly 27, in a system built for him at Atalanta and arguably has never played consistently well in England. To complicate the deal Arsenal presently have no sporting director. Semenyo looks more like the player Arsenal are pursuing presently at that spot. Relationship with the club, younger, better ball carrier from both sides, versatile, lower wages, roughly similar transfer price.
😂😂 Jon thinks Amorim style is whats hurting United and Rashford? Mate United and Rashford were garbage for last 10 years sans maybe 2 seasons where they finished 2nd. If Amorim moved to more dynamic quick attack it still doesn't solve on field problems.
Ironically I think both Garnacho and Rashford could play the front 2 in a 3-5-2. Regardless I agree. Rashfords problems are his own and United have looked way more solid considering their god awful spine.
It's good to use data and how players operate but have to take systems they are playing in. You might have a right back who's great in progressive passes and everything you need but being played in different role due to the system around him and data will not show that
Robinsons stats suggest that he’s an elite defender/ ball carrier/ crosser. Not so much of a great passer. Yet he played as an inverted fullback for the US vs Jamaica (2nd leg). So I definitely agree, the data reflects the system and how well they’re operating in it - not necessarily how well they’ll do in a different one.

Jesus Christ. City truly dropped the ball.
It happens to every team when they have a very successful men's first team...look at what happened to Chelsea in the mid 2010s
