Since I am 70 years old I remember when the tri-five Chevrolets were in common use. These cars were very popular in the 1950s. My parents had a 1956 Chevrolet Bel-Air when I was growing up. It was a very basic model with the inline six cylinder engine and the 3 speed column shift transmission.
the first car i ever bought was a 56 chevy belair 4 dr. with a 265 bored out to a 283, 4 bl. carb. solid lifters, 3 speed on the floor, with mag wheels,, painted metalic green. I paid 600 dollars for it in 1966.
