@@pinaappol86 ph person here, my friends and some people I know tried HOK for a day and got tired of it. And we never talk about it again. MLBB is huge in my country, all kinds of people play it-- even my dad. So no, MLBB will not go away anytime soon because of it's popularity and it can run on almost any potato phone. Filipinos don't care about any original content and still continue to play the game even the game is "unoriginal".
Or rly just give us the hextech chests riot took away and make sure all the champs are available and I think many people might switch. Although even if that was the case, I don't rely feel like playing a moba on the phone
There's no sense to mobile legends being in trouble. The major player base is not in the USA. This is a game played at the south east Asia and the south Americas. Places where the mobile competition is not winnable for wild rift
You're right. But frankly, western content creators in general do not have the capability to even think of the possibility that the western market might not be the priority for a developer. Just look at how western creators "assess" riots policies. Whenever riot releases a controversial monetization update, these content creators go on r/leagueoflegends and pull up "data"/"community feedback" that almost always, fully exclusively belong to the western player base. They then go on to make "predictions" solely based from the feedback and data they get from their own community (echochamber). I dont know why riot would ever take "feedbacks" from these people regarding topics such as monetization seriously when nearly ALL of their "feedbacks": 1-only take into account the budget constraints of people they know personally. (They can't fathom the idea of whales being the priority) 2-never even consider how a change could affect any other server other than NA/EUW. 3-never take chinese player's feedbacks into account even though they are the majority.(tbf it is probably fairly hard to do) 4-form all their oppinions on what they think is going to happen using anything BUT economics/business management knowledge. This game's community is like a less extreme version of asmongold's fanbase. They want every game developer to conform to their beliefs and will shamelessy&ignorantly "trash on" anything that doesn't conform to their beliefs, regardless of whether they are the minority, whether their beliefs are absurd, whether their proposals have any economical merit to them. TL;DR: These content creators adamantly believe/ act like US and EU are the only regions that matter. Players from far east, CIS, South america, SEA and other regions are not included in their echo chambers/are grossly undernumbered compared to western.
Kinda wish a gacha game would sue League for copying it and win tbh. While I know that's extremely unlikely, I rly hate the direction Riot is going with skins and rewards
@@justhair17Gacha elements are in tons of games. Not a chance in hell of that happening. At least the gacha is only for a skin and not a champion or anything actually game breaking.
Riot? Their competition? Hah, they can't compete in SEA, Moonton real competition is HoK. Both LoL and Wild Rift are dead game in here. They don't too focus on USA players and Moonton is under Bytedance, sure they can get over this sooner or later. Don't get me wrong, i love Arcane.

I don't understand why riot is getting greedier with hextech chest, now more than ever you are most likely not going to get a skin that you would buy. With like 170 champions and each one with 3~10 skins, chances are really slim.
maybe it has something with corpo financial director, who previously worked pretty high in one of the greediest companies in the world, becoming a CEO of Riot Games. Also supposedly heavily influencing and experimenting with Valorant's monetization before it released so... I mean there is no gurantee, but it seems that is likely current CEO continuing to do what he wants to do. After having succes with Valorant. (Barely earnable characters, useless lvl that gives you number and a board around the number, REALLY costly skins, like 70-100 dollars Skin bundles and that's with a bundle discounts, those bundles are also time limited. And all weapon skins can be bought later, but obviously without discount. And only 4 skins can appear in shop per day (Randomly chosen) not bundles, just skin for exact weapon in each slot. So you can play for a year+ and never see a skin that you wanted just cuz of randomness. FOMO is insane. As well as prices. And People keep buying them. BP that is here for the whole act. Provides some dogshit effectless skins for free. Or less dogshit yet still effectless skins for paid BP. Oh and when you buy skin/bundle you don't get full skin with animations/effects. You need to unlock them with special currency for each skin separately. Which is earnable only through BP. (there's free part of it, but you need to grind 50 lvls and then some more to get any decent amount.) So uh... yeah... Riot were okay with financial lossess for reputation and establishing league IP to broader audience with riot forge, Arcane, LoR and such. But not anymore it seems. Now they want MONEY. And we can't be sure that they need it for projects and not to just excessievly fill higher ups pockets now.
It's not really being greedier. Riot is actually just reducing their free stuff rather than increasing the price of their existing Economy on the rising cost of Running the Game in this market
Money, they laid off more people so more money, they made the battle pass worth less and cost more for more money, they ruined the skin shards and orange essence for money, they ruined mythic essence for money, and they make the came toxic and addictive with an biased matchmaking for money. Corporate interests revolve around money.
That Specifically is not greedier per se, they are moving values around. Not to say its not annoying and a terrible decision interms of people that have gotten used to it and that love finally earning a free item. Though when it comes to the whale skins im onboard with the "Greed part" its a terrible way to split the consumers
I... guess so? Personally, it sounded way worse for me since it wasn't just legendary skins, everything was harder to grind and buy and I often looked at western servers and wonder how they're obtaining so much
At the end of the day, the us ban doesn’t matter. Ml’s player base in the west is abysmal. Their money comes from southeast asia and china, no contest. Their target demographic are people who cant afford phones who can run wild rift. And their player base in these areas are so large that even if you have a phone that can run wild rift, youre forced to play ml because all your friends are.
I’m glad that someone understands that people play ml because they have few to no options on games they can play on low spec phones especially on mobas. People keep shitting on the game and its players without recognizing people’s financial statuses and capabilities.

Well something like that even happened to aphelios i guess riot sucks in creativity but funny thing is have moonton copyrighted any of it ( damn have they even thought 'bout it before lawsuits droped ) but having tencent employe as your director sure isn't bice anyway.
My experience with MLBB here in the east: - They have big connections with streamers and can influence the audience too much. They killed AoV because of that and why they left PH. - The MLBB game can run in all devices and been the first moba to cement its foundation here, not like Wild Rift where it has at least a minimum device requirement to run. - So many microtransactions, gacha, un-"lucky spins" and fragments just to get event skins for MLBB, and with the recent Wild Rift update they followed this annoying and frustrating experience for players to get rewards. - As much as player experience in rank, MLBB is very forgiving than WR, which is why the playerbase is big despite the very very grindy rewards.
in addtion MLBB is easier to grasp and Newbie friendly, you can just smash buttons and learn later then win. Unlike WR you have so much to learn in micro and macro management plus the game knowledge you need to know or you'll get lost. I'd say it's also WR PH communities fault at the early days of WR as they gate keep the WR and keep trashing on player that just started, now the game is dead sometimes it takes more time to get a queue. If I am a new player looking for a MOBA game, I'd rather choose HOK or MLBB to start rather than WR. Though I played Hok, MLBB, and WR I still grind in WR more than the other two because I know the ropes. But as a NEW PLAYER trying games, I'd rather not stay in WR
@@pandabear8801 I really wanna get into WR, but the matchmaking there is quite slow. I'm pretty much unranked btw so chances most playerbase are already high ranked
You can factually check all MLBB E-Sport data without counting China. Coincidentally, They just released MLBB in China TODAY. Yes, Even though they are from China, they never released the game there until... Yesterday.
I mean it's really hard when they get squash by HOK ( the allegedly league successor because riot doesn't want to make mobile port ), wild rift ( the actual successor), and at very least like 4 to 5 different titles along with it, like battle 300, omnyoji, extra ordinary one, and ECT ECT
Doesn't help Wild Rift that League PC players view not only MLBB, WR also and mobile gaming in general as the inferior gaming platform and keeps stucking their heads in the dirt about how huge mobile gaming market actually is to the rest of the world. League comment section in mention of WR usually goes: "Eew touch screen? Joystick? Ever heard of mouse and keyboard?" MLBB no longer copies stuff from League, I think. In the past, I'm pretty sure MLBB was supposed to be the mobile LoL, and hence probably wanted to rely on familiarity. Now they no longer really need to; and while designing a good champion is hard, I'm sure you can churn out decent ones. But ofc all the old stuff are still there with no changes. Okay! For this part 3:30. I'd like to tell LoL players the differences between the characters shown Aamon (The duke of Paxley) is a jungler magic burst assassin whose kit revolves around being camouflaged, setting shards on the ground by using his skills. Then blowing up people with his ult. The only thing close to Irelia is floating weapons. Terizla (The Excutionar of the Abyss) is a tanky fighter that gets tankier the lower his hp gets (Gains 1% damage reduction for every 2.5% hp lost for a max 20% plus hero lvl (max 15.) so 35% when maxed) and who's bread and butter is his second skill which is Aatroxs Q but you don't need to hit sweet spots to deal lots of damage. Mixed with Fighter Emblem set (MLBB's version of runes, fighter gives spell vamp, defence and adaptive attack) and you get a drain tank with no mobility besides a speed boost on his second skill. Which is basically Mundo Q but with the visuals of Ornn Q and also much more interesting the the previous mentioned skills. Only similarity to Jayce is big hammer, and Terizla's hammer is an Excutionars hammer, not a fancy tech one. Khaleed (The desert scimitar) is older than Akshan by about a year or so. He's a melee hero who has Ambessa E before Ambessa was a thing, Yi meditate, and his ult is is similer to Voli but without the stariod part. Only similarity to Akshan is both being middle eastern in inspiration. Argus (The fallen angel) is not remotely close to Aatrox in the slightest besides sprouting wings when in ult. He has Naut Q but it always pulls you so it's basically a dash, and his second skill is just Yas basic Q but with Nocturnes mist thingy that makes him faster walking to targets. And his ult is Trynda but with a cleans. Oh, also any damage he takes while ulted is returned as HP once ult is done. He's also garbage early but becomes a beast late… if he doesn't get mauled by the enemy EXP laner (MLBB's Top lane.) There are more neat differences between MLBB heroes and the LoL champions that "Inspired" them. So if anybody is interested either look up the wiki or feel free to ask me :)
Funny how you described Khaleed as "a melee hero who has Ambessa W before Ambesa was a thing" then humbly mention how he stole Yi W and Voli R. Argus does looks a lot like Aatrox, plus when Aargus ults he gets a movement speed buff that decays over time, same as Aatrox. For every champion in Mobile Legends I can mention exactly what they copied from LoL, both abilities and looks, as I played both games. Also it's obvious that there are differences between the LoL champions and MLBB heroes that took inspiration from them, MLBB would get shut down if they straight up copied LoL.

Lmao wild rift doesn't even come close to mlbb. The wild rift pro scene is dead in the water whereas the mlbb pro scene peaks at like 4-5 million viewers (2nd largest after lol) Matchmaking times in wild rift take 3 mins while it's uncommon to find longer than 1 min matchmaking in mlbb unless you're very high rank. I am from Ph and yes, Mobile Legends is quite big here. The only explanation that I have as of the moment is because when ML was released, personal computers aren't that accessible. Yes, there are lots of pop up computer shop, but still. it doesn't have the accessibility of just getting a phone. Specially that time, there were these two phone brands here that are so cheap but can still launch ML. Iirc, Wildrift was only released here 3 or 4 years after ML. That means that ML was already established. Now though, I think WR is slowly getting name, tho ML is still standing strong.
I agree. Riot mentioned that they will withdraw asian servers in Garena because of gacha system and so whatever they called. Now, they actually do the same thing aaaaaand 10x expensive😅😅😅 I kinda mad after they announced the gacha system in PC.
Those "Nightmarish landscape with slot machines" are actually waaaaay, when I say way it's like lightyears difference when it comes it prices. Those slotmachines / gacha that Garena throws at us are so affordable and more enjoyable than the gacha system that RIOT is slapping us today.
Side note: the "Bang Bang" in Mobile Legends Bang Bang was hurriedly implemented by Moonton when they returned back after being removed by Play Store as a means to avoid any copyright lawsuits and it was originally named "Mobile Legends 5v5 MOBA" prior to the whole ordeal. What's weird is that "Bang Bang" is a word not to be associated in MOBA (it's more associated with FPS), i think they should have thought of a more dignified sub-title for ML.
I think it fits since people here are addicted to first picking marksman when the hero selection is shown every match and each year when the new M series skin voting started majority voted for marksman🗿
bro even MOBA is a stupid genre name. Nearly all multiplayer online pvp games are "MOBA's". Also because they didn't wanted to be named "dota clone" Riot made that name to differentiate from Dota "ARTS - Action Real Time Strategy" which IMO is better than Multiplayer Online Battle Arena

HOK and WR claimed to be mlbb killers by their playerbase and none of it came true, banning it from the US will only affect US pro players because most of the playerbase are from SEA. I'm not biased here but I don't see any game capable of being a rival of mlbb even in the near future. Even if it's banned from the US I think it's still gonna be one of the top 5 most watched games in esports.

I play a Moonton gacha called Watcher of Realms, and that was taken down for about a day. But this got me thinking. Same thing might happen to Tencent someday. They've already been labelled a Chinese Military Company by the U.S. Defense Department. Who is to say, the U.S. Congress, or more likely Trump, won't one day say Tencent can't do business in the U.S. anymore. Right-wingers worried about the government coming after their guns. The reality is they are coming after our games, not guns.
See, I can Simp for Riot & it still be below 15 minutes. Nobody should be praising Riot right now, Especially with game state . . It's disgustingly bad right now.
Actually that lawsuit was thrown away since both Riot and the mlbb community kinda spotted as a DESPERATE attempt of taking them down instead of pushing them with some serious evidence. The summer skin we're pointless but everyone agreed about the Video showcase being a copy (which it was also applied to the rest of the cinematics).

I'm honestly more surprised that Heroes of Newerth, which officially died a few years ago, is still being run by its community. Talk about refusing to die. It was a nice trip down memory lane.
Heroes of Newerth was my first MOBA as a kid, then I got flamed in my first bot game for not reading the web guides or whatever and then I read them and then it got worse. Might just be my personal experience but League has always been better community-wise from when I swapped over to it. So this is surprising to me

King of Glory (CN) / Honor of Kings / Arena of Valor = Tencent's baby. MASSIVELY popular in China and have fat wallets. HoK, the international version, is just throwing skins and crazy promotions to try and compete with ML. Wild Rift = Popular in China, decent following in other SEA countries. In terms of revenue, China is hard carrying this game. Esports is non-existent. MLBB = Massively popular in Indonesia and the Philippines. Most of the Esports viewers are from those region.s Unfortunately, developing countries don't spend a lot; It doesn't help that a chunk of the player base are kids and teenagers. They get meme'd on for having a lot of viewers begging for skins. Even Wild Rift, despite constantly being called a "dead game", earns more than ML.
Sadly developing here also means below average intelligent level of the general population. Like you stated, ML players are already well established as proud beggars, not to mention the extremely toxic atmosphere that they bring into the game. If you think that COD MW3 lobbies were the worst, you're in for a treat of how low these players can flame you for even the most minor mistake. ML is like their daily bread, they live by and for it.

The guy you claimed was a J4 ripoff is actually a Xin Zhao ripoff, his original name was literally Xin Zhao and they were forced to change it shortly after release. Amusingly, his kit is way more effective as an initiator than Xin because he can toss his target behind him instead of just knocking them up. Also, honestly speaking while the basic controls are more clunky than WR (or were, I haven't played in years now) a lot of the kits are just frankly more interesting to play. They combined Akali and Talon into Gusion and he is fun af to play. Orianna got combined with LeBlanc so she has mobility in not only being able to dash but being able to teleport to her ball, letting her nuke and juke in ways that are reminiscent of Zed plays. There are more, but I think the difference in design goals is becoming more apparent. WR's goal is to adapt PC while trying to retain as much as possible of the original design. MLBB's goal is to make a fun mobile moba and if that means stealing the fun parts from LoL then so be it.
3:07 in certain nations yes, because the esports tournaments for example gathered well over 300-500k live viewers when certain teams from (mostly) Indonesia and Philippines play

MLBB doesn't have mainland popularity because MLBB was never aimed at the mainland market, it was a (successful) attempt to capitalise on the gameplay format but overseas, since tencent themselves were slow to push out a HoK equivalent overseas. AoV (the HoK equivalent by tencent) was only available for TW etc regions at the time iirc. When tencent realised and released Arena of Valor for other regions, MLBB already had a solid playerbase and AoV couldn't compete
Also one thing despite MLBB doesn't has many players compared to the SEA region, NA make up 30% of MLBB revenues. But still it will not affect them, but it will affect the NA's mlbb esports.
@@captainnyan-nyan2005 sure most of MLBB's revenues are from Asia, but 30% from NA is still huge. what i found funny is that hanzo/yone was very distinct gameplay wise apart from the soul unbound thingy when they were both released. but the latest hanzo rework made his body untargetable(something the enemy can do previously, which gave him a unique weakness) and changes his ghost form 2nd skill into a wallmart yone ult lol

Since the game is easily accessible and has been popular on mobile, every kid just went crazy about it (Similar to Fortnite and Roblox for Western kids). There's also a classic dark system such as paying other people to rank up in your account, and accounts for sale (very common). The trend even reached the point where school kids held their own mini-tournament. The time it takes for one match is roughly the same if not shorter than that of League. Nowadays the newly released heroes (champions) in Mobile Legends just felt very bland. Also, none of the players really cares about the lore of the game.
As an Indonesian citizen, MLBB is the biggest game here, The WildRift Rating case on the Play Store is a form of anger the MLBB community Because Riot Sues for Plagiarism.😂 Here the WildRift and MLBB communities are used to being noisy. But sometimes I feel sorry that MLBB's income is less than WildRift's income, that's because most Indonesians want free things. 😅
Khaleed was there before Aksan and Fanny was there before Carmile. Using their image like that is just classic league content creator who never actually did their homework.
What also League content creators love to point without doing their homeworks is that those Champion/Hero comparisson have completely different playstyle Akshan is an ADC with mobility, Khaleed is a fighter bully with sustain. Camille has her grappling hook as a means of gap closing, occasional mobility and cc but is mainly a true dmg bruiser, while Fanny is a flying saucer death machine assassin with her cables as the only and primary means of mobility. Just surface level comparissons without homework indeed
the only reason wildrift light is still on is because of the lawsuit money they got from this lawsuits because i know for sure they dont have that many players in wildrift for the game to be playable let alone having players buy their dumb skins. i once played against a full bot lobby literal ai enemies in my plat lobby and now all i think is if my teammates are ai too. plus im not the only one with this issue as master and diamond players are also reporting having to play with and against ai players.
I mean, Wild Rift revenue is 2.5 times that ripoff moba if we include China. So yeah, East Asia loves gacha. LMAO, all their top games have a gacha system in place. XD
If i remember correctly it was said that it was suggested to make a Mobile version of league ages ago like around 2015 i guess, but Riot refused (JoJo reference) so i think Riot just gave away all the MOBA mobile scenario for those rascals to feast on, in a different universe, Wild Rift might have had a bigger playerbase a normal competitive 😔 Wich the others just snatched away because lol mobile was late
In Genshin, you spend money to get the hot waifu so you can simp for her aka p2p. In League, it's just a skin, dude. If someone can't control themselves over a sh1tty skin, I cant blame Riot for exploiting them for saving them from their money.
@@liqiye3611 in genshin you have the choice to not spend money... but in league you don't have the choice of getting a new high quality skin for 10,15,20 dollars in the future and by that i mean the effort will be put into gacha skins and new legendaries will be worse than old epics
Honestly as someone who has played Mobile Legends for a lot and has a girlfriend so into it. Yeah, this game is realy fine, it was really quick league with everything being much more simplistic because you can't play for 40 straight minutes on mobile every time. It was that "Mobile League" that was there way before Wild Rift even released. Some of the characters and kits are really similar to League but then you got shit like JOHNSON, the cyborg looking dude that TURNS INTO A CAR AND RUNS YOU DOWN or Bruno, a dude that attacks with an electric football only
8:55 that's not how that works. Executive orders do not just trump law (no pun intended). This will probably not last for as long as the order says it will hold.
That's why I'm playing Honor of Kings (a mobile moba) with an emulator on PC. I tried all the available native PC mobas and the only one I found enjoyable was Heroes of the Storm but since it was abandoned the player-base is mostly gone so 90% of the games now are sweat fests.
Tbh thats one of the reasons why Mobas that try to copy the League/Dota/Whatever formula are dying/dont succeed for long if at all. Its possible to create a moba that doesnt have a ton of the unecessary bloat that a game like league has while still having fun and interesting champions and strategic gameplay. But people are too obsessed with basically copying league or crying that a game isnt copying league lmao. So devs get the wrong idea and repeatedly fail at developing a successful game.
@@Vernardo we getting free skins and they usually make an avaiable free skin with the release of the gacha skin for the whales. They atleast looks good except that zhuangzi limited.
well unlike league, if you just do daily quests and spend like 10 dollars thru the span of around the 50 days that the banners usually last you can get a 100-200 dollar skin for just around 15-25 dollars. it’s really not that bad.
Mobile Legends and Honor of Kings are much more popular than Wild Rift here in the East 85% of people I know played it at some point. The Content creators here tried very hard to paint wild rift as a bad game because they already earn a lot for making content and playing MLBB and HOK
Not to mention that Riot Games refused Tencent's call for a mobile version of League of Legends in 2015, so TiMi got the opportunity of a lifetime, making Honor of Kings as well as Arena of Valor. Both of the biggest mobile games ever.
I'm from EU and i used to play dota1 then league. Been playing MLBB for 6 years. It's better than League and its not even close. On top of that some characters in mlbb came out before riot ripped them off (e.g. Yone). Mlbb has much better dynamic and the game feels so much better than league. You have insane damage/mobility and the map is small and it feels more like arena with moba elements than a moba and you can carry like crazy by urself. Btw you're showing Khaleed/Akshan when Khaleed came out before Akshan? Lol. League has cool lore but in terms of gameplay mlbb gaps it so hard its not even close
I play LoL for like 2-3 years and I gave up just because how long matches were lasting. ~30 min average if not longer. Dynamic of MLBB is way better for me and the game itself is very fluid. Even if it's rip off idc cuz the game is better.
Garena gave us a lot of rewards for those gacha mechanics. We had a lot of skins, mythic essences, icons, etc. Prestige skins were very accessible to be bought again with its borders and icons with those said gachas. Riot just ruined it and implemented a scummier gacha mechanic.

I dont know why riot would ever take "feedbacks" from these people regarding topics such as monetization seriously when nearly ALL of their "feedbacks":
1-only take into account the budget constraints of people they know personally. (They can't fathom the idea of whales being the priority)
2-never even consider how a change could affect any other server other than NA/EUW.
3-never take chinese player's feedbacks into account even though they are the majority.(tbf it is probably fairly hard to do)
4-form all their oppinions on what they think is going to happen using anything BUT economics/business management knowledge.
This game's community is like a less extreme version of asmongold's fanbase. They want every game developer to conform to their beliefs and will shamelessy&ignorantly "trash on" anything that doesn't conform to their beliefs, regardless of
whether they are the minority,
whether their beliefs are absurd,
whether their proposals have any economical merit to them.
TL;DR: These content creators adamantly believe/ act like US and EU are the only regions that matter.

(there's free part of it, but you need to grind 50 lvls and then some more to get any decent amount.)
So uh... yeah...
Riot were okay with financial lossess for reputation and establishing league IP to broader audience with riot forge, Arcane, LoR and such. But not anymore it seems. Now they want MONEY. And we can't be sure that they need it for projects and not to just excessievly fill higher ups pockets now.

My experience with MLBB here in the east:
- They have big connections with streamers and can influence the audience too much.
Okay! For this part 3:30. I'd like to tell LoL players the differences between the characters shown
Aamon (The duke of Paxley) is a jungler magic burst assassin whose kit revolves around being camouflaged, setting shards on the ground by using his skills.
He's also garbage early but becomes a beast late… if he doesn't get mauled by the enemy EXP laner (MLBB's Top lane.)
There are more neat differences between MLBB heroes and the LoL champions that "Inspired" them. So if anybody is interested either look up the wiki or feel free to ask me :)
I mean the abilities might be different but it's funny how similar the designs are between league and MLBB
Obviously they have to make the kit different because they dont wanna get sued

When tencent realised and released Arena of Valor for other regions, MLBB already had a solid playerbase and AoV couldn't compete
