Good review and visuals! Sample photos or videos on your use case will help make the video more interesting. I have a love-hate relationship with this lens. It is very handy, and can be used as an all around lens especially around family or casual events. For travel, I'm tempted to try out the 23mm for an "easier-to-use" experience but after years of having this, I haven't sold it yet since it does get amazing photos from time to time.
One of my favorite 3-lens kits for my 35mm film SLR was: 24mm f/2 35mm f/1.4 85mm f/1.4 When I bought my Fuji X mirrorless digital, I bought the following 3-lens kit: 16mm f/1.4 23mm f/1.4 56mm f/1.2
I've tried to get rid of this lens a few times... and at the last moment, I retreat. I've owned several Fujinon lenses that although I like them, when I decided to sell them and exchange them for others, I didn't hesitate. This is the only exception.
Don’t buy lenses new. This is generally £400 on the used market. The 18mm f1.4 is often compared to this but they are different focal lengths. The 18 renders more clinically too
I have this lens, but I haven't been using it a lot. I've been having hard time to find nice use cases for it and hadn't been impressed from the quality of the images. Top notch video and presentation, but I would love to have seen some examples and inspiration on where and how to use this lens. Hope to see more of this, subscribed.
It's so weird to hear you say that this lens is "a little softer than most of Fujifilm's other lenses". From what I remember and from my own usage, this was one of the sharpest Fuji lenses at the widest aperture. And, you said you were using XH2s for your test, which has a 26mp resolution? I just learned that some lenses are soft at over 100% magnification in 40mp cameras.
Perhaps its my unit which is softer, but compared to some other lenses in my fuji collection this is definitely the softest wide open, but fuji lenses overall are incredibly crisp.
I think because full frame is very understandable for people, but ill look into comparing it to medium format perhaps its time for that since the new fuji cam.
Terribly sorry the voice creeped you out and made you want to quit photography, my goal is only to provide value to the community, I hope it didn't irrevocably damage your views on this hobby.

Thanks for the tips!

Agreed. One hidden aspect of this lens is bubble bokeh!

Hi,
Congratulations for this Channel...
For the few vidéos you’ve done, these are great...
👍👏🖖
Thank you so much! 🙂
This is a 24mm equivalent on full frame. A must for establishing shots.

Congrats on your new channel !
Thank You!
Great lens but I don't shoot indoors or Milky Way shots.
A little softer? I've never heard it called that. It's one of the sharpest fuji lense I have!
For me it's the best Fuji lens ever
Recently started shooting with it again and i must agree!

Why do you compare the sensorsize to a below medium format. Nobody uses that. This is super35. Lord of the Rings was shot on that.

His narration is so creepy and sad. I wanted to give up photography after watching this...
