You are the reason that I am using up my many notebooks that I have hoarded over the years. Using stickers and my doodles help me fill up my notebooks. Since following you on UA-cam, I have filled four notebooks. And I am about to start a new one.
one idea I just had is adding a QR code to specific favourite websites. Generate the QR code and then paste it into the journal so you can visit that website or as a record. I don't know who this could be useful for but just an idea!
I have SOOOOOOOO many notebooks and I continue to purchase more. Why??? Because I love them!! Oh, and I love collecting quotes too and add these to my journals. I have found my stride with my journaling this past year and have really noticed a change over the past 10 years. I love adding mixed media, stickers and using a photo as a focal point. Having said that, there are days where I do a lot of long form journaling too, just to get 'stuff'out of my head. I love your inspiration Amy. Thank you so much for sharing. xx
I NEVER actually filled an entire journal EVER until I started a daily gratitude journal. I filled up 5 so far! Since it is a daily practice, it forces me to stay on track. It is a life-saving life-transforming practice for me as I follow Abraham Hicks teachings about keeping frequencies raised to attract more and more good
I definitely buy notebooks (and make TNs) much faster than I can use them; I figure they'll come in handy someday, right?! 😉 This year, I think (🤞🏻) I've found a journalling rhythm that currently works for me. I include photos and sometimes ephemera from trips (tickets, torn up napkins, even bits off choc boxes), stickers, stamps, stencilling, washi tape around my long-hand journalling (I've accepted I'm a wordy person) but also accepted that some days its OK to forego the decorating to just get the journalling caught up; not every page needs to be a stunner. Like you always say, done is better than perfect ❤
Add photos (pocket printer). Include beautiful papers cut into fun shapes. Include nature - weather, seasons, birds etc. Also include trackers for new habits or desired goals & progress. Trip planning & packing lists. So much fun! ❤
I am currently in Osaka and winding down my day as I write this. I finally cracked open a Traveler’s Company event limited spiral ring notebook to document this trip.
AMY THE TIMING OF THIS VIDEO IS INCREDIBLE ! So 2 days ago I took out my Amy Tangerine Late Afternoon Travelers Notebook (Brown one with leopard print), from last Novembers 3 day GLIMMERS & GRATITUDE workshop ! I decided to flip over to a new page and continue writing down some of the small glimmers that I have witnessed recently. It was so lovely to flip back over last years pages and get excited all over again to use the notebook !
Oh, this is really making me remember my teenage notebooks and school books, when I filled them with quotes. I should grab one of my many, many notebooks from my hoard and start doing this again. Thanks Amy!
At least you start them. I have so many all blank journals! I do have 3 or 4 beautiful journals that were started and then I go back to my cheap spiral notebooks.
So interesting. Do you think you write in the cheap ones because you spent less money on them? I am so curious about this, because I definitely did something similar in the past
@amytangerine Tough question because I really don't have an answer. I've been thinking about it a lot since you asked the question. I started seriously keeping a journal about forty years ago as part of a class. I was using a three-ring binder because there were a lot of handouts, and therefore, college ruled notebook paper worked really well. I used binders for years. Then, somewhere along my journey I started using college ruled spiral notebooks. They just work for me. Cost is not really an issue as many of the really expensive ones were gifts. As you can tell, I really don't have an answer.
Thank you for this video. Good timing seeing this today. I was speaking earlier this week about feeling unmotivated. Especially in my morning routine including journaling. This has me excited to change things up!
I am a teacher of The Zentangle Method so I put a small tangle pattern on each page with comments and thoughts for the day… stickers, colors, and brush pens… its all part of the daily creative process.
I have so many blank journals. I go out and see one that catches my eye and I convince myself this is the one! It usually isn’t but I buy it anyway. Your video was so inspirational and encouraging. Hopefully, I will get started and complete one. Thank you for your support and truthfulness! Stay blessed!
The timing of this video is perfect! I was recently gifted a beautiful handmade notebook from a dear friend and I’ve been pondering how I want to use it. You’ve given me the best ideas!
I used to just come up with words that were resonating at the time. it was an easy and fun way to also manifest what I wanted to call in more of too. Hope this helps!
I’m currently using your journal from A&O and have it about half filled in just 2 months. It’s beautiful and inspiring. I got the version with all the different colored paper. I bought 4 of them (different sizes and paper) and really enjoy the cover you designed.
Can definitely relate :P I have a couple notebooks I've gotten over the past few years that I got with an idea in mind of how to use them. One for quotes and one for positive affirmations and memories and I'm trying not to put too much pressure on myself to fill them up. Just today I got a few more and each have their own purpose pre-determined. I'll be trying 5 yr journaling for the first time starting next year, one for when a notebook I'd been using for brain downloads gets filled (only a few pgs left) and another for something eles I'll do next year- looking up names of famous people I know very little about and writing down whatever fun tidbits I find
Hi Amy! My name is Suzanne and I am a certified journal junkie. 🙋🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️ I will use your great ideas to help fill some pages. No promises on filling a notebook , but we will start using them. Scripture writing is helping right now. You are definitely not alone. 😂🤗💞🙏🏾
Oh no. Don't abandon notebooks! Use them fully! I have a notebook of quotes I like when I read books, a notebook for my penpals (writing when I get the letters and send the letters), and that's it. :: shrugs :: I just told my husband the other day how I need to get another notebook for my penpals because I only have two pages left (been filling it up for four years). Insightful video, as I love your creativity! I do think that sometimes, there can be TOO many quotes on one page for journals/notebooks, making it appear to be cluttered, unless it is about those quotes specifically. You do separate them well though. I always love your colorful pages!
I have so many notebooks that I am running out of space. I do write in my Journals and I feel bad if I don't finish it, so I do Finish it. Then I start with a new fresh one every year.
I love making note books. I took a class making simple notebooks. I have fallen in love with washi paper and different cloths. I also love to sketch and do zentangles . Its been a journey.
1- 1:59 Quotes 2- 3:12 Gratitude List 3- 3:49 Doodles 4- 4:29 Stamping 5- 5:10 Mini Vision Boards 6- 5:44 Personal Mantras 7- 6:31 Have someone else write in it 8- 7:03 Take notes from podcasts (or UA-cam videos) 9- 7:54 Use stickers 10- 9:00 Document your journey
Your notebook habit sounds like my sketchbook habit! I have 11 sketchbooks on the go but only 2 notebooks on the go. I write my thoughts, loves and hopes, worries, reflections in one and things that I have learnt or read or gratitude in the other. I also include visuals ie drawings/doodles and collage to add pops of colour inside both. To me the two notebooks are like friends who listen and don’t judge. Great video Amy!
Oh I’ve found a new notebook sister. My local CVS had high quality notebooks and notepads 90% off. I bought all they had! Even after giving away many I still have an entire storage box full of notebooks.
I’ve used many stickers in my planners before. I love your ideas here Amy. I am definitely going to incorporate some of them in my journaling and use up my supplies.
I also have so many unused or partially used notebooks but I *did* fill that Reset Girl typewriter one - with Mel Robbins Best Decade Ever 2020 workbook. Good thing it was decade and not year because it was just about the worst year ever!!
Hmmm wonder who that 600 stamp set person is.. 🤣😉 I love keeping vision board close. I might add put those vision board items on their own page/spread them fill in with coordinating, inspiring quotes. Creative Blessings and hugs!
I LOVE THAT YOU PICKED UP ON THAT :) Would be so fun to be able to see and use your collection if you're willing to share. How fun would that be? I could bring mine over and you could count them with me ;)
@@amytangerinethis makes me wish I had planner friends near me! I swear all of SC is just like "NO" when it comes to planner and journal fun... We hardly have any fun stationary shops either!!! I'm living for this sisterhood. I have SO MUCH in terms of stickers (freaking happy planner got me at the beginning of my journey and I could stock literally 5 Michaels or more...) so I would love to find someone to share my stash with! I need to start doing mystery boxes again so I can afford to buy all the things I know I'll use lol
Nope, you aren’t alone. I just can’t seem to write in a new journal because they are so perfect. I have ugly handwriting, nothing interesting to say, can’t draw or doodle, etc etc. so I have empty pretty journals but use those cheap college rule composition books to actually fill up.
I felt the same way.... All I can say is START. buy a notebook (I suggest a stalogy as they are cheap, or a bullet journal from Walmart if you don't like TRP) and just practice! I can't tell you how much better my pages look after only a year! I plan and journal together so I was comparing myself to everyone else and that's silly! I want to be chaotic and creative (hints my name, very much due to my ADHD but my OCD fights with it constantly). Just go for it. Have fun! Practice hand lettering and get good at it! You can do anything you put your mind to if you just practice! I do hope you'll dive in soon and surprise yourself because everyone has a creative side in them ❤

Awwww Gail, you are pure sunshine! Incredible that you've filled so many books. Thank you so much for being here and encouraging others too!
I collect notebooks, stationery, stickers, stamps 😂 Great video! ❤
Awesome! Those are my favorite things to collect too ;) Thank you!
