Yes please. I have been wondering this also. does your thumb move to follow your middle finger with every subtle shift it makes between strings,? or does it sit generally behind it as you perform a pattern and only move as the position moves. I find a light touch back there is helpful as I move up the neck or my thumb begins to drag along behind my movement as I head toward the pickups.. leaving it with the tip pointing at the nut after a few frets. Do i create pressure with my thumb alone or is there an element of using the arm, shoulder, or center, so the pressure on the fretboard is a function of my whole torso? is your thumb always a perfect 90 degrees to the neck? this could def be a short video.. I know I should be on Patreon and vote. very soon I will. But couldn't resist a comment anyways. Perhaps some other folks can help as well. This community is priceless to me. THANK YOU EVERYONE
Hey I’m gonna sign up to your patreon , but I’m more focused on rhythm playing do you have a lot of lessons on that aspect ? It’s mainly technique I want to work on 🤘🏻
Bernth, do you have any suggestions for playing over more chromatic sounding riffs? I’m trying to figure out how to make my leads sound more demented like cannibal corpse. I normally try to find some way to make diminished or double harmonic minor work but is there a more practical approach to this? Should I just add some chromatic patterns as walk downs to transition in between a couple notes in the scales I’m already using?
I know slayer adds some kind of chromaticism to locrian to get that real evil sound. But I’ve never been able to crack the code on exactly what their method is. Maybe they change up their chromatic note placement a bit every time... that would make it harder to emulate.
Bernth, I’ve wanted to shred my whole life but I had undiagnosed and unmedicated SEVERE ADHD. I started taking ADHD meds and then your channel found me. I’m FINALLY seeing significant improvements in my playing just from your free videos. I’m going to become a patreon so I can continue to improve my skills with your even more helpful private videos. This guy is the best man. I have improved so much just from his youtube. I actually reached out to him to thank him, and he responded. I cannot wait to get the paid course man.
Using a small thick pick like the Jazz 3, turning the pick so that it's at about a 45-degree angle to the strings, and playing 3 note per string patterns helped me pick up a lot of speed quickly.
Very cool for you to take time to help us with these exercises. Thank you so much for your time and effort, and for me it's a pleasure to watch your channel. Greetings from Germany. 😊 🎶
I'm on my sixth year of guitar, but I got an electric last year for the first time. I've been wanting to learn this for a long time now, and this helps a lot.
Alright, I might aswell sub to your channel since I watch your vids on a regular basis anyways! Keep up the great work - your lessons and tutorials are amazing!
I just got a blue voodoo 300 watt CRATE.. been awhile since i had tubes... im 100% self taught but i been watching your lessons... there is some of things i can do but i just haven't figured it out yet
What I find crucial to your playing and that I never hear you mention is you keep your thumb on your left hand in the Middle of the back of the guitar neck.
I know you posted this 3 years ago, but how did you like buying his courses, cuz I’ve been thinking about buying it, every other guitar teacher I find on UA-cam it’s either not what I wanna learn or their an asshole
I have a pretty nice pattern but when I try to increase the speed I always trip over some of the string and when I release one sting moving to the next string the last string rings out ruining the sound effect that I'm after
I started playing barely 2 months ago. Currently I am still having difficulties with the basics even, like cord changes, proper fretting etc. When are these exercises recommended to be practiced? Thanks!
That’s awesome. Believe it or not,,, I’ve actually been using shapes very very similar to that working on alternate speed picking and picking/fretting synchronization for years

Brother I got a question for you. I am a drummer and my arms are pretty bad. So I can't play as much without horrible pain. I am a left-handed drummer. I am considering picking up the guitar I think it would at least satisfy my thirst for playing music when I can't play my drums. So my question since I'm left-handed should I buy a left-handed guitar? Or should I just learn to play on a standard right hand guitar? Will playing a left hand guitar make it easier? I can play a little bit now right-handed so I wasn't sure what I should do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If anybody wanted to hear my playing on the drums you can go to straight jacket double amputee drummer you're on UA-cam and it will pull up some videos. The band has since broken up but we got some great memories opening up for Black Label Society, Motorhead, dope many times, and many other band I sure miss them days

Maybe I'm the outlier here, but if you included picking patterns in the tab, it would help. I honestly can't tell with the video alone. (Call me learning disabled if you want.) The First Pattern I play naturally as DUD DUD D..even though the triplet feel AS PLAYED by Bernth in the video for pattern one is not obvious. I just don't feel it as TRIP o let TRIP o let BAM. But it also seems to me, to expand my horizons, I should also play it as DUD UDU D. I did not go further in the video as I was working on the First pattern alone. I feel pattern one as 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 (rest). ABCDEFA (space) ABCDEFA (space). Please advise.

Noticed that he only has 5 Redbulls left in the fridge, meaning he skulled 19 before the video, thus enabling him to play this fast.
Farkn funny😂😂😂

I think he deep his hands on red bull..... His fingers has wings crazy fast..

Weird, I drink 19 red bulls, and all I get is cardiac arrest. Really drew the short straw on that one.
