In this episode, Shen Yun dancers Will, Sam, and Jisung try putting together a self-scripted Peking Opera mini-program in three days.
In a crash-course montage of learning the lines, refining moves, trying costumes, and doing legit Peking Opera makeup (not an easy task), seriously hilarious events unfold.
Be prepared to witness ridiculous imitations, laugh-out-loud audio-clipping (sorry) banter, and Sam in his scariest moment.

Wow I didn't like Peking opera at all before. 😄 But after watching the talented four: the instructor and the three Shen Yun performers, I really came to love Peking opera: what a great part of the culture ! Thank you for your hard efforts to share this. :)

In Egypt at a Chinese restaurant there was a HUGE tv. I was sitting right across from it. Just as I was served my food, a Chinese opera came on. I had NO idea what it was. I didn’t want to be rude at how funny it was. Yes the costumes were beautiful and the dancing. But because of the voices I was laughing sooo hard in my head and making hyperventilating noises trying to stay composed.
I was mortified at my self.
Just when I thought I was good and I was having a conversation, VERY loud high pitched singing would blare from the TV. Thank you guys, For showing the amazing history and details I’ve truly wanted to know because it was beautiful and …umm… confusing lol

How old are each of you and how long have you been Shen Yun dancers? Is it a year round thing or do you have other jobs when your not touring? I am genuinely curious. I just showed my husband a video about Shen Yun in Spanish... It was from like 7 years ago and I think Jisung was in it. lol
