Yep, and then reread the tournament they have in the manga where they go to play in america before they talk about the X-bowl. Damn been 10 years but for an underrated sports anime that does not do goofy crap or put some stupid over emotional plot, im in.

As someone who is both an anime nerd as well as a american football nerd I've always seen the two pass times from two different cultures are able to reinforce the cliché of "If you work your ass off, believe in yourself as well as your team, and never let what seems like defeat to break your spirit"
bro same no way. I'm a huge college and pro football fan and love anime but I felt the two are two alienating from one each other but after watching this I realize that the two share characteristics and its not weird to like both of them.

Ya know, this series definitely going beat down any shonin sport anime, if they give the series a modern animation a spin. With all the crazy motion and perspective angle the mangaka put into the series.
It is on par with Days TV, if you understand
Kinda hard to top Hajime no Ippo. Even the English dub is a gem.

I dunno man, Hajime No Ippo and Ace of Diamonds gives this a run for its money. Its not a bad show, but those two are #1 and 2 in the sports genre imo

The art style and quality are older, yet it just feels more anime like and of higher quality compared to the HD run of the mill isekai animes we've been getting the past couple of years.

This anime made in the wrong era. The animation that it's got very not related to what the mangaka wanted. It would be cool if their remade the anime today with the animation that it's needed as sport anime like Haikyuu or Blue Lock. Because what the animation that the mangaka wanted is represented in One Punch Man anime.

This anime need HxH treatment. It was so underrated because underwhelming adaptation
So, i see it taken 79 episode to reveal himself. Never got to watch this show as a kid, but tried it once as an adult cause of my love for sports anime. May be my lack of patience for things that happen in anime especially having a secret identity for a sport which I found dumb can cause a flood of sidetracking cause someone would want to expose it. I stopped around around 50ish and i don't think i can attempt this show again.
Still think the same for this anime. And y'all want a reboot?! 12 Episodes a season? waiting year or more for the next one? and still be doing a training arc. not once but twice? You don't want a reboot of this show, you want a continuation instead.
