One day i'm gonna tell a story to my kids and grandkids about a humble, brave man from a small village in the mountains who came to Vegas' flashing lights, ventured to Abu Dhabi's golden sands, defeated every opponent he faced and then went back to his small village away from everything to take care of his mother and his family

    what amazes me
    1.lost his dad
    2.got mumps and balloon leg
3.broke 2 toes when he was just recovering from mumps
    4.trained pro'ly only a week
5.didn't tell anyone so that can continue fight and also for no excuses
6.made a weight cut even in this situation
7.promised mom to stop fighting without father
8.came to fight for first and last time without father
9.had the stone on his chest that he is going to leave his favorite sport and can't fulfill his father's dreams, like 30-0 or gsp fight, anymore.
10.even after all this he was thinking mid fight Gaethje said he won't tap and Khabib don't want to hurt him in front of his parents.so he changed arm bar to triangle mid fight.
    **define GOAT to me.

DC was sent to persuade Khabib to lose by dec. Everyone khabib fought before DC commenting was considered conf of interest. The UFC was gonna make champ Conor again and have him rematch Khabib at the new Raiders stadium...then Khabib vs GSP at new Etihad stadium in abu dhabi. Both massive events for UFC, VEGAS and ADHABI. The judges gave first round to Justin. Khabib said NO! DC brother I cannot do that. My father is watching me. And did what he wanted like a MAN. Thats why he is a GREAT MAN.

When this fight happened, my pops was hospitalized due to a series a seizures. The doctors discovered that he had kidney cancer that spread to his brain. We were scared that he wouldn’t make it out of his surgery alive or back to normal like before the seizures. Watching this fight after Khabib’s father had passed really took mine and my pop’s mind off of the circumstances we were dealing with. Especially because my dad was such a huge Khabib fan. We were so happy and proud that Khabib was even back in the octagon after that tragedy. However, my dad wasn’t scared at all, he would say just as sure as Khabib win he’d make it out of his surgery and chemo. He ended up having a successful surgery and was relatively normal despite the cancer. My dad ended up getting covid and unfortunately that was what took his life. Every time I rewatch this fight I just remember my dad and how brave he was and it makes me so proud of him. This fight meant so much more to me than just a title defense for one of my favorite fighters. I honestly cry a tear or two watching Khabib after his win.

By far my favourite fighter, khabib is a honorable, loyal, respectful and fearless warrior. He demands respect even if your not a fan or dont like his style in the ring. He came and he conquered, it's as simple as that. There were no secrets with khabib everyone knew what he was going to do in that octagon, he would even tell his opponents before the fight and none of them could stop him (only tibia managed to stay on his feet). 29 tried and 29 failed. He never came close to losing, never been dropped or stunned, No blood, no scratches, just utter dominance. 29-0, undefeated, undisputed, lightweight, pound for pound, champion of the world and the pride of dagistan, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Amazing tribute.
This has brought out some many emotions for me, having lost my dad 10 years ago I didn't realise there was still underlying grief.
Khabib will be forever remembered as a great champion and a great man.

Khabib was a different kind of man. We can act like we truly get him but we will never know his true pain and suffering coming from where he comes from. Nothing but respect for that man!

One thing that bring me to the MMA fandom was the raw violence, the sudden tender emotions and and the enormous sacrifices these fighters make.
Saw a couple of reels and realize this is more than a sport. Condolences to Khabib

The ending of the match, when Gaethje comforted Khabib, after he himself lost..telling him how he made his father proud, was in my opinion the most moving, purest moment in mma

One of the most emotional moments in UFC history. Honestly lucky to witness what will always be an iconic moment in MMA lore.
Khabib retired the GOAT. 0 question at all.
