Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?
5-10 because of that stupid transition sound effects.
Infinity. This is a masterpiece
10 because Denzel Washington is such an amazing actor
Easy 10
Can't rate a masterpiece
“When you pray for rain you gotta deal with the mud too” - love that line.
My grandmother had that quote on her kitchen cabinet. You pray for the rain you have to deal with the mud.

Denzel is the baddest badass I have ever seen. Everything he does is so smooth, methodical, almost surgical in nature. He really makes every role he plays come alive fully. We are really so blessed to have this man. Thank you for all the incredible movies Denzel.

Denzel and Jason Statham are next level
@@powerfan2921 I like both, and Liam Neeson too
That's my boy denzel
@@luizsiewerdt5291 I was just thinking I Love how calm cool & collective both Liam Neeson & Denzel both are when tracking down bad guys and ultimately killing them. Two of the Baddest Bad Asses alive ! The movie series 'Taken" is another favorite.
The thing that makes Denzel’s character so great, is his optimism. With all the horror he’s seen in his life, he still believes people are inherently good. He gives everyone a chance, hopeful that they will do the right thing. And he’s genuinely sad when they make the wrong choice.
Cut it out with the dramatics. His character is that way.
@@Jacksonjames4 okay jack
@@Jacksonjames4 Except that's a good chunk of his characters' principles. John Q is another great example of him just wanting to do the right thing, praying someone will see him doing the right thing, hoping others will do the right thing and being disappointed time and time again.
Best killers are the ones who do it for a purpose not because they like killing.
@@Jacksonjames4 he just saying the facts while you hating for no reason
These two actors played off of each other’s energy- Hats off to the both of them - because this is pure acting 🎭 gold
Reminiscent of Pacino and DeNiro in ' Heat.
Nicolai would make an excellent Bond villain.
Yes his opponent is a High Quality actor as well! Excellent scene for both of them !!
I'll also chime in that the no name Italian played am entertaining bad guy. But not sure I'd consider this type of pulp farce dialog as "acting gold". Entertaining it was, none the less.😎

There’s something spellbinding about Denzel’s acting. Whatever it is, I can’t get enough!! Thank you sir.
I agree he is super charismatic and super talented not to mention a motivational speaker.
Love Denzel and his New York accent. My man.
Beware of the person who threatens you without raising their voice.
If you threaten someone and they don't get excited or show fear you may want to leave them alone.
Well said , brother

The best part about the Equalizer is that he does not look threatening at all when you first look at him. He is not a character like John Wick who already looks like someone who means business, he just looks like a regular guy working at a hardware store from 9 to 5 wh olives alone. Fascinating movie one of the first movies I watched on Netflix and among the least regrettable 2 hours and 11 minutes of my life.
Alot of times in real life its the quiet cool "regular" guy who can be the most dangerous of them all
John wick is a Badder Badass!
This is a testament to how low the standards have become to be considered a good movie.
1:30 for example "Stop me if you've heard this one"
"Oh no, please go on" 🤦♀
I love me some Denzel, but it's bittersweet, both happy and sad for him to see how he's ruining his career while cashing in on the stoopid money Netflix is passing around. This movie was almost as bad as "the Irishman" which also involved a lot of overpaid actors who were great in the past, but obviously aren't as concerned about quality and perseverance as they used to be, just saying
Plus Denzel is pretty much an old man compared to when he did John Q 20 years ago- of course he's not going to appear as threatening. At his age he's doing well to even walk! Kind of like most of the old dudes at the hardware store, like you describe. It's like pointing out that you appreciate Meryl Streep having saggy boobs compared to decades ago 🤦♂

Agreed on Denzel being the top tier actor of our generation - from Pelican Brief, to Man on Fire, The Taking of Pelham 1,2,3, American Gangster, Training day, The Book of Eli, all the Equalizer movies, John Q, Remember the Titans, and on and on and on and on. One of my most favorite actors in whatever he does.
I love pelican brief. He and Julia Robert's was great in that movie.
You just gave me a list of movies to go watch.
You forgot magnificent seven
Aye aye you didnt mention virtuosity!!!!!
The Bone Collector is a good one too
4:44 is probably one of my absolute favorite moments on film. Right up with Anthony Hopkins' stare in Silence of the Lambs. I think I've only seen three actors portray such coldness: Hopkins, Washington, and Spader as Raymond Reddington. Pure chills, every time.
Very good choices. I agree. I remember that one scene from the blacklist where Red is doing his usual house visits, and he says something along the lines of “In my world,if I think you’re guilty…I just execute sentence.” Sends chills down my spine.
@@imretrodelic YES!! Or when he's got someone on his plane , (The Director!) and he's telling some story that seemingly has nothing to do with what is going on, but you just *KNOW* it's going to end with someone getting tossed out the door. He has that expression on his face then!
The very slight frown by Nicolai is great. I think that's when he loses some of his confidence and is actually worried about the outcome of his conflict with McCall.
@@abigbutterstick1780 Was gonna say the same thing. That actor made the perfect 1/8 inch drop under his right eye that lets you know the character is thinking "Oh sh*t! I done f*cked up now!" LOL
😊
The restaurant scene was so bad ass!!!!! The two of them deadliest men in that restaurant literally sizing each other up in the most non-violent way. 😂😂
Trust young jedi millennial, you'll be laughing much harder in the future when this kind of pulp farce dialog becomes fodder for the comics 😂😂
The deadliest person in that restaurant is the guy that had the deviled eggs and spicy enchiladas.
@@normalguy78I was sooo waiting for that- RIGHT ON CUE😂😂
@@Rick-the-Swift So tell me, Arbiter of perfect media, what would you consider better movies or comics?
One thing I wanted to point out, not in this scene but one from before:
McCall has a hard time sleeping at night. So he sits up reading with the light on until he realizes it’s late and needs to turn it off. After he goes and kills the men who beat Alina, he slept like a baby.
Just the simple story telling like that is amazing. I love both movies. Equalizer 2 definitely did have its moments, however, showing that Bob did try going back to a somewhat normal life, but still performing his vigilante justice when it was due was a sweet taste. The story telling was there. It still is and I can’t wait until the third installment.
Nicely said💯
I agree 100%!!
Just 4 lbs of pressure Miles, that’s all it takes.👍
I am a die hard equalizer fan..but what you said about him sleeping like a baby after beating the goons..such truth and good observation there..
@@rahvij i also love the way his 'powers' work. Its like he can control his adrenaline output. Usually when he's going for the kill there's a sort of yellow tint in the background kinda like limitless nzt. Here things slightly slow down and using his watch its just really cool to watch u know.

I like how Denzel just laughs at his evil retort "what do you see when you look at me" lol he's CLEARLY not the first psycho with a sad backstory he's met and put down.
it's scary when you fight someone who know everything about you but you don't know everything about your foe.
I thought he laughed because to him no one is worse than him. His confidence in himself makes it some what flattering to threaten him.
He laughed because he already knew his background and his name...the fact that he responded by telling him his life story is ridiculous 😅
I grew up watching the best. Every actor has his niche. A trademark that makes them great. Clark Gable, John Wayne, Gary Cooper, Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson, Pacino, Deniro, Potier, Gary Oldman, Freeman, Hopkins, Kingsley, and dozens more, actors that deliver dialogue in their own unique manner.
Denzel is one of the top men in this category, undoubtedly, his manner of speaking, his walk, and the only man that can say, "my man", the way he does.
Denzel, at 67, has already achieved greatness and for our pleasure and fortune, continues to share his talent with us.

God, when he narrates the villains own story back to him..and asks him back - when you look at me, what do you see?..crazy good storytelling

My absolute favorite line for this movie: "He didn't come for help. He came for permission."
Agreed that was a good line.
I think the same thing
Denzel Washington is a BADASS in 99% of movies he does. So legit
If anyone's wondering why McCall kept turning on and off the lights instead of simply keeping them on, it's to simulate an effect and provide a level of delusion (which everyone probably knew), but more importantly if it was completely dark the eyes would focus and pupils enlargen to change aperture opening like a camera and see thru the darkness.
He kept turning it off to remove some of the target's way to strategize getting to McCall if he can't see where he might be.
He kept turning on the light to stop the eyes from entering night mode, and then shut it off again to confuse the target subtlely, and finally when he disappeared, the target couldn't see it because his eyes was once again adjusting for the first time preceding just having been exposed to light.
Of course there was some symbolism too "Now you see me, now you don't."
Ah yeah you right .. agreed
I know how it felt lmao.. but i didnt know about the Effect, maybe you can give me so i can get the answer on internet
GREAT DETAILL
THIS MOVIE AND DENZEL ALWAYS MY TOP FAVOURITE OF ALL TIME
Whut
😅🤣😂 this guy
No, the reason he kept doing that was because it was written in the script of the movie
"Creasy's art is death, ..and he is about to paint his masterpiece!"
I’ve still never heard anything better than how Christopher Walkin delivered those lines. The whole scene was intense
@@OscarMikeF150 "MAN ON FIRE" is one of my fav. movies, and so well written. I think the fact that Pita's father was willing to agree to a kidnapping of his own daughter just for money, shows just how disconnected he was with his daughter, and this of course leads to Pita finding another man to fill the void in her heart created by her father.
Did you note the Color shifting gradually in line with how he began to bond with Pita ? It got brighter and happier until the kidnapping. There were so many brilliant layers to this movie. I’ve rewatched at least a dozen times.
@@OscarMikeF150 Yes indeed, and the brighter scenes climaxed with the addition of the playfulness of the dog while he was waiting for Pita to finish with her piano lessons,
And dont forget, "A bullet always tells the truth".
love that film.
"You're gonna give me what I need...or not." Such a powerful line. And delivery of it. So in line with the the internal integrity of the character. Like he told Nicolai...he's giving the cop a chance. To live. Or not.
The Denzel walk is legendary
By far the best scene in this movie, the almost imperceptible look of sudden doubt, fear and confusion at 4:47 was masterful! Bravo gentlemen!!
Nah. The most gangster moment for Washington was in "American Gangster" when his character went to ask for his 20%. That was some cold blooded shit man.
Yes not bad that too...But here there is not only one shot. The full movie is made of scenes like that. In "American Gangster" he shows emotions, anger is an emotion. Here there is nothing. He is much worse, much more dangerous, than Nicolai, in a sense. Because he does what he does without any amotion. Not even anger, which also sociopatic serial killers like Nicolai can feel. He does not feel it.
@@rcafiero Thus the word "moment".
Training day....no?
@@Voltaron. - That movie had a lot of great moments for me too, but to shoot someone in the forehead right in front of everyone is the best. IMO.

Denzel Washington is an incredible actor, love anything he is in👏👏👏Superb 💕
Denzel Washington is the Smoothest Assassin ever. BADASS.
Marton Csokas was the perfect foil for Denzel’s McCall character. The intensity of this scene and the tension between the actors is just incredible
I loved him also in IntoThe Badlands. He’s an underrated actor.
When he said "What do you see when you look at me?" to Nicolai, you could see the light in his eyes just vanish and Nicolai knew that he fuck up real hard.
The part of the monologue where Denzel says “I promised someone that i loved very much that i’d never go back to being that person. But for you i’d make an exception” for me is the most threatening part. It’s wonderfully scripted and delivered with a quiet casual menace that lets you know he means what the fuck he’s saying
🤣😂So true 👍🏾
Denzel is a wonderful actor, watching him act is a pleasure, I am in awe.
Doesn't need to be said, he's so revered and well loved for his work, but Denzel absolutely captivates me in every one of his roles. Masterfully plucks me out of my own head and surroundings and thrusts me into right there, right where his character is. Feeling what he feels. Gotta love an artist like that
I wanna hear Denzel Washington say "if death is art, then youre about to become a masterpiece".
Weak line
Cheesy line, it should be in a Arnold Schwarzenegger moive.
Man on Fire, Christopher Walkens character talks about Denzels character this way.
"A man can be an artist. At anything, food, whatever. Creaseys art is death... And he's about to paint his masterpiece."
🤣🤣 c'mon
It only worked when it was said of a character he was playing. He himself saying it would be a fail.

at 4:48 Nicolai's expression turns to fear within a second(though it's only visible for the blink of an eye). I feel Marton Csokas is an underrated actor. Both Denzel and him nailed the scene.
that's my fav
Martin Csokas is the ultimate villain. Nothing tops this guy. None.
McCall doesn't threaten, he just informs them of what will happen.
At 3:13 the actor playing Nikolai physically pulls his ears back to show discomfort during the scene, it is very subtle and exceptional.
"But for you, I'm gonna make an exception."
Denzel is literally like
My way or you all die, no negotiating at all and he’s literally OP
"I promised someone I love very much that I'd never go back to being that person. But for you, Nicolai, I'm gonna make an exception." Cold man. Ice cold.

Right off the bat McCall sets the stage. He tosses the glasses on the table, nonchalantly says "He ain't coming back" & at the same time seating himself at the table.

the grin and the slump in nikolai grin and ears when he was asked what he sees in Robert was just... amazing lol.
What I like about Denzel is that while he may be typecasted (For those unfamiliar, it means you've been basically stuck to play certain roles in cinema), he dominates the stage whenever he comes out, same with Morgan Freeman, many of the big celebs in Hollywood tend to have that niche they fit into but it's with good reason.
Find me a movie where Denzel is an honest man playing fast and dirty with the moral lines and I'll guarantee you'll find an amazing film. He does these roles so god damn well, same way Morgan Freeman often plays the wise old man, a font of knowledge just trying to steer people towards 'the right course of action'.
He's a free mason shill though
Well it was his choice not to do many villain roles like he did in Training Day
Denzel speaks with amazing presence at commencements
Denzel is the greatest.
Denzel is A "Smooth Operator"
Just slides into your livelyhood wipes you out and slides back out into the night. Like a ninja.
Actors such as the talented Denzel are what makes the magic of quality and entertaining movies!!
Of course, Denzel Washington has honed his skill as an actor over several decades, however, the character of Robert McCall could never exist unless there's a serious threat, the casting of Marton Csokas and Pedro Pascal as main antagonists in each episode compliments this and evenly matches the protagonist.
Looking forward to "The Equalizer 3"!.

The greatest black man to ever do it
The underlying lesson that might get overlooked, is to be aware that you never know who you're dealing with. The way certain types of people act today where they berate and abuse people online, can have real world consequences or if that behavior spills out into real world interactions, the person youve decided to verbally abuse might react in a way you didn't expect, and heaven help you if they know what they're doing. So be courteous and offer a base level of respect to strangers until given a reason not to. Better to be cautious and nice than reckless, rude and beaten to death
