very nice! my (now previous) steps with something I want to delete was: click before the issue, press S, click after it, press S, select the middle, press delete. now its F1, drag problem area, delete! Thanks Kenny! Ive also added it as toolbar button!
I have a question. I've using version 7, and it appears they've really overhauled the scripting actions. setting up this original script no longer seems to work, Other then the obvious going back to 6.8, any suggestions?
I learned a few things. Good tsuff. I keep forgetting razor edit is opt right drag, so I never use it, mainly because I never right drag, But this reminds me that I can change it to the opt-left-drag just on the bottom half of an item. I never realized that the lower half of the item can handle events differently than the rest. Also this gave me a better understanding of the track context area, which I never fully understood before. Also I just subscribed to IDDQDSound. Thanks for all the knowledge Kenny.
So weird to suddenly see your face after hearing your voice for so long. Anyway, thank you for everything, i think we should raise a statue in your honor !! 😉 All the best !!
Love this editing feature & as always Kenny takes you through it like a ninja. I would love to know how to re-build this function in Reaper 7 as I've tried exporting all the mouse modifier actions as lua script & pasted them into the cycle action editor but it's not working. An updated version would be awesome if poss. Big fan Kenny, thanks so much for all your tutorials
Very very very cool. The Fast Mode is very cool, but explaining the Cycle Action editor is very, very, very cool. I'm starting to imagine a lot of different preference settings........ooooo.
This is so useful.. It was so unconfortable to right alt click to edit my envellopes with razor. This make it easier. Thanks Kenny for teaching us so many things about the best DAW i ever used. I suppose this can also be use to create a button to cycle monitors ( those that have more than 2 monitors). Thanks again
I've loved this action as I do editing for VO, but I discovered as I installed V.7, I believe all the commands needed to create this no longer exist yikes! Might you be able to circle round back to this and see if it's possible to rebuild in V.7? Thank you!!!!
Hi Kenny, I'm using the win 64 version and the Razer fast edit system I copied from here doesn't allow me to box select a series of midi entered wav sounds on a single track, instead it selects all tracks, no matter the solo, muted or armed for recording status of the tracks, please help with the solution, Thanks!
Great tips!!! There's no way to add the Shift modifier to "add to selection" as well right? Unfortunately, it seems like dragging the bottom part of the envelope/automation track doesn't add to selection but create a new one instead.
Hey Kenny! This is a great idea, but I can't get it to work. Is there a way to do this in Reaper v.7.05? The selections aren't showing up in the cycle action editor list, and the commands say "unknown". Can you help?
Dude this is so frustrating. When I do alt right click the little razor comes up and highlights the area on the editor then do you right click and removes items? That deletes everything on the entire track. I just want to be able to cut part of a track and delete it
Now I need to combine the custom actions I use for drum editing into a single cycle action with toggle, and replace the two buttons I currently have to switch mouse modifiers. Thank you sir!
One of the drawback with reaper is that you can't double click on a track and do small edits like guitar noise and small vocal sounds. In order to do this I have to do multiple splits of the tracks in question and just drag them back to erase them. Other than that, there's almost nothing reaper can do.
I know what you mean. I wish there was an option to "silence" a section without deleting or splitting anything. Just flatline the the peaks in the selection to zero like you can in audacity
Looks good, but in my reaper, there’s no “create razor/just create”! Only add to razor. Why is it not like yours? I’m using latest update. Anyway thanks for all the good stuff you provide 👍
Sooo useful! I never used the Cycling actions before, but this is so simple/powerful! Thanks! Just a remark: I don't have the exact same IDs (29967 on yours is 27064 on mine...) different SWS versions maybe? (I am not up to date)
make a video on starting reaper on entirely new system with the same settings toolbar shortcuts colour themes etc , also each action in reaper does something to understand what it does it has to be explored and then made into a custom action please make videos describing what each action does because its a lot of time observing each action , customizing them bringing it to a usable level . to save time and make things faster .
I think it's version 3, he did the original, updated it saying it was an update of the original, and now this seems to be the final version with all the tutorial, but without mention of previous versions.
Kenny Please REAPER PROBLEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! готовая песня MIDI NOTE Piano Roll Клавиши не мигают song ready MIDI NOTE Piano Roll Keys do not flash
Things have changed since 7 has come out. Looks like they implemented Kennys method and turned it into a single action Mouse modifiers: Toggle arrange view override mouse modifiers B id 42618 you can still follow his method with adding it to your toolbar up the top but add the action mentioned above
I'm continually blown away by the elegance behind Reaper's design. And your tutorials are a model for how tutorials should be done. Thanks Kenny.
They should add this to the default toolbar if you ask me!! Great one Kenny!
I would agree except not everyone has issues right click dragging like trackpad and Mac users.
@@REAPERMania true! I don't know how folks live without a mouse.

Thanks a lot Kenny ! This final touch of having a toggled Icon on the main menu is just cherry on top.
Back to back videos ❤️ Kenny everyone loves your videos 🙏
Protect Kenny at all costs. Genius. Thanks for this!!
I hope Kenny starts putting out this many videos EVERY day!
Just installed this all last night, and it worked perfectly! Thanks, Kenny!
I have a question. I've using version 7, and it appears they've really overhauled the scripting actions. setting up this original script no longer seems to work, Other then the obvious going back to 6.8, any suggestions?
hey Kenny's studio assistant made a geust appearance in the background of the intro. Looked like they were hard at work "Cat-scanning" the mics lol

I'll be implementing this very soon! Thanks very much, Kenny!
When i realized ...click thumb up before even watching and still feels right....
Kenny, you are the Bob Ross of Reaper . Thx
You always manage to help me create my desires. Thnx Kenny. 😉🎼
For an old fart (who works on other Daws) I really appreciate all the calm, Concise tutorials.
So weird to suddenly see your face after hearing your voice for so long. Anyway, thank you for everything, i think we should raise a statue in your honor !! 😉 All the best !!
Excelent as always. Thank you very much Keny. 👍😄
I haven’t been using razor edit much but with fast mode I think ima be using it more now! Thanks Kenny 🙂
I love that Intro - and I like the cat!
Many thanks for the great Video, Kenny!
My pleasure!

Brilliant! Thank you!
Excellent tutorial.
So helpful - thank you!

Genius! You have just "ProTools-ed" the Reaper! :D That was what i waited all the time :D

Of course I subscribed to IDDQD Sound.
I need it more.
I had no idea you could do all that in Reaper, kinda shocked tbh!

Why I can't add cycle action for media explorer actions
Ok! Is in my toolbar! Name: "RazorKenny" 😊🎼👍🏽
Now I need to combine the custom actions I use for drum editing into a single cycle action with toggle, and replace the two buttons I currently have to switch mouse modifiers.
Thank you sir!
That's a great idea!
Hy Kenny, just let me understand: this is no longer possible with version 7.20? Isn't it? Thanks
👍👍👏👏

but then again Reaper constantly surprises me so maybe you can!

Why is it not like yours? I’m using latest update.
Anyway thanks for all the good stuff you provide 👍
Same here. It seems that there's no "create razor/just create" in the latest version.
It seems to have changed to select rather than create in the new version or you can just enter the same id numbers in the video.
What is your cat’s name?
Sooo useful! I never used the Cycling actions before, but this is so simple/powerful! Thanks!
Just a remark: I don't have the exact same IDs (29967 on yours is 27064 on mine...)
different SWS versions maybe? (I am not up to date)
i was getting different too until I triple checked
It might not work with that ID. Update REAPER as it was fixed because of this video.
as per build 6.41 change log
Mouse modifiers: fix some actions to set default mouse modifiers
Cool! Thx!
did you update your pic for this vid? XD

I want some of your coffee Kenny!
Is this an update on the earlier video about this? Or does it add new content?
I think it's version 3, he did the original, updated it saying it was an update of the original, and now this seems to be the final version with all the tutorial, but without mention of previous versions.
@@zardeh63 Seems like the thing about creating the toggling button/icon is new since I last watched this. Nice addition.

I can find none of those actions. I use 7.07
Neither can I, 7.08
All the Action ID Numbers are unknown.

Kenny, try to blink :) I dare you. :)
these actions don't exist in reaper windows!!!
Things have changed since 7 has come out. Looks like they implemented Kennys method and turned it into a single action
Mouse modifiers: Toggle arrange view override mouse modifiers B
id 42618
you can still follow his method with adding it to your toolbar up the top but add the action mentioned above
