It clicked for me a couple of days ago, and honestly the price talk is boring compared to the tech. Imagine anyone being able to open up a bank in a third-world country (or any country for that sake), buying or sending whatever, whenever without a third-party-authority to question or censor the purchase or transfer. BTC is truly (for those who need to understand the tech in lay-man's terms); the Internet version of money; whereas book publishers and media/publishers before the Internet was a thing, is akin to paper money today; it is controlled, owned by different corporations, can be censored if needed. BTC on the other hand, just like the Internet as a whole is open, censorship resistance, does not belong to any country, hack-resistant and neutral. Investing in this is a no-brainer.

I lived in Shenzhen, China for 8 months and that is their strategy. Make money there, invest it in Africa. Reason being the tech boom has raised wages of skilled labor in China. So a Chinese company will farm out manufacturing work to Africa because there is no minimum wage there, making it is cheaper to produce in Africa. Africa has become China's China.
And you'll continually see more and more investment in infrastructure from Chinese backers. Akons billion dollar backing to connect isolated villages with electricity and internet is living proof.
