I wished this was taught earlier in most BJJ schools. Or at all. Most never teach this. I wished it were available as an in depth integrated course. Wonderful stuff.

As a white belt crushed in this position, I am watchitng this 100 times. I don't know much about BJJ yet, but JJM moves are soooo SMOOOTH. He is the reason I still believe I will be able to defend from those 120 kilos guys at the gym one day ;)

09:49 the training advice he gave at the end is something I've been following for nearly 18months now, after a disastrous 1st 6 months. In those 18 months I've focused on mostly getting better at escapes. Just like he said, I'd put up some resistance initially, but shortly after the roll starts I'd give up side control or mount or back. I TAPPED a lot in those 18 months, sometimes to people who started after me. But now my defence is MUCH better. I'm surviving quite a lot of blue belt attacks and occasionally purple belt attacks. Now that my defence is half decent I've started focusing on attacks each roll. So learning to see attack opportunities. Like the last 18 months it's been slow going, but slowly my submission rate is increasing. The journey is more important than the destination!!

a missing detail which i missed is that on hook sweep the base foot is PUSHING on the floor while elevating with the other foot. if i don't push i can't sweep. the pushing leg scissors first under the elevating foot. that was the detail i missed from this session.
