There is no such thing as "dish soap" : if you look at the labels, you will see the terms "dish liquid" or "dishwashing liquid". No soap. You should not use soap to wash dishes, you should not put soap in your dishwasher, and you should not use soap in your washing machine. All those activities require a detergent. With regard to garden insect sprays, expert gardeners say that detergents are too harsh on plant leaves and recommend that you use only soap. Therefore it's important to know the distinction.

New grower here, i just used this on my tomato plants for Thirps . It killed them instantly. Leaves look a bit dry now. I’m gonna rinse the leaves off with water tomorrow and give a good watering . If I don’t come back for a update means it worked and everything was fine on all 4 of my tomatoe plants .

I just found an aphid infestation on my pepper plants. Noticed that my leaves were super sticky, but brushed it off as nearby trees blowing sap. Upon further inspection, I see these tiny crab like creatures walking on my leaves!!!!! I declared war immediately and used dish soap and cold water. Has it worked for anyone?
I can say with first hand experience, soap and water works like a charm. No more aphids. They did come back after they were gone, but another application has since eradicated them.
@@KDunn123 Just the leaves. For maximum protection buy you a small bottle of NEEM oil. It is extracted from the neem nut. Smells like ramen noodle beef seasoning, but it will 100% get rid of your aphids better than just soap and water alone.
i had those thrips twice before. both times i used Thripex mites to eat them. i tried before soaps and all kinds chemicals i bought from the store. i got totaly rid of those pets with thripex after 2 weeks

So I have a lot of milkweed and I heard the solution you are talking about but I need to know because someone says oh no don't use soap water but I get them sometimes so many at a time I'm kind of desperate to save the milkweed for my monarchs. My question to you is will the soap hurt the eggs and caterpillars of the monarch because I was told it would kill him

@@SHOCKINNUFC yeah just dish soap and water. didn't spray the top soil because it dripped onto the soil quite a lot from spraying the foliage.

I have been using those, it seems like my issue is out of hand. I use 2 to 3 sachets per plant also. Kinda disappointed

There is no soap in Dawn or similar dish washing priducts, only detergent. Soap would create scum, especially if you have hard water.

No I dont recommend doing that. You want it on the leaves to kill the bugs i dont think you want the roots to be drinking that

Ants aren’t that bad, maggot fly is devastating trust me. Ants actually eat maggot fly larvae 👍👍. Yes can stand aphids thrips are easy to get rid of
You say “dish soap”. That’s not soap. Its detergent and it’s harmful to your plants.

It did for me, killed them as soon as I sprayed it

I can't say for certain but I'm thinking he was using Palmolive Dish Soap in this video.
