On July 4th, 2009, my oldest brother and I played and sang this song at my sisters, for Dad. Within 5 minutes of finishing, there was a double rainbow in the Eastern sky. 4 days later, Dad passed away of congestive heart failure, 50 days short of his 91st birthday.
Dad told me many times I'd wanna see corn grow again and I said never.well I moved away and I'm back and live for the knee high by the fourth of July.parents are incredibly right.god bless all you parents out there.
Great event for the grand opening of the Earl Scruggs Center, located in Shelby, NC which opened January 11, 2014. Remembering Earl: Music & Stories, an amazing evening of these artists sharing music and stories of their time with Earl Scruggs and his impacts on their life and careers - we are forever grateful to them for making this a magical evening for all involved. Loved this story by Travis Tritt...
What a great performance this was by a band of friends who happened to be musicians ... they were together for that one night but sounded like they had been playing together for years. Magical !
