Wow!... I didn't know that there were drones for video back in the 80's..🤣...the Gleaner and the Chalmers brought back a few memories...my Dad managed the AC dealership in Humeston for 28 years or so. Gleaner used to be king in southern IA till Duetz took over the tractor division of AC in 85.... dealerships close and there goes the support. History 101...love y'all's vids, great job Miss M..👍
I loved the "Bed & Breakfast" joke. Very cute, very original!!! Half of the reason I listen to your videos is because I enjoy your sense of humor, maybe that's why Molly puts up with you (certainly it can't be because of your good looks).
Love the comment on the bed and breakfast bale! Only a farmer would understand why the two different hay and straw in the same bale. It was the first one out of the chamber
I have a n7 gleaner combine and the straw behind the combine is always short and what I always do is I start baling the straw when it’s too damp to combine in the evening and it makes way more compact and nicer bales that way when you bale on the dew.
Back when I was custom cutting wheat, for the straw I actually had a old 3300 and then a 6600 Deere to cut wheat with. Only reason why I ever owned a John Deere combine, because the rotor combines just chew the straw up to bad and I like long stem straw for bedding and it makes less of a mess in the hay mows too. I would have went with a old IH 715 or 915, but I got good deals on both the 3300 and 6600 JD, so I went with them, despite not being a fan of Deere combines. Plus I knew it would be easier to get parts for those old combines than it would be getting parts for a old IH cylinder combine. If you ever decide to do much straw baling, I'd find you a old Deere combine, although make sure you stay away from the old flat screen Deere combines, they have a tendency to overheat. That what that old 6600 I had was, and I knew they had some issues with those combines, but for the price, I decided to take a chance, and I ended up doing a lot more custom cutting than I thought I would. Talk about a pain, I was having to stop every few rounds, and blow the dang radiator out to keep it from overheating, and it didn't help that it was in the mid 95 degrees and humid as all get out. Between not having air condition in the cab and constantly blowing the radiator out on top of it, made it not quite as fun as it normally is, lol.
@@iowANFarmer We had a Deere 6600 for years and replaced it with a Gleaner F2. The straw is nicer with the Gleaner, but the Gleaner is much nicer to work on than the Deere is. I picked up a 7700 Hydro with a 220 header for $800 at auction this spring, so that's our backup now, but the Gleaner is our main machine. For straw, you just can't beat those old conventional Gleaners. Run an L3 and you'd never want to touch a Deere ;)
Heck ya love the gleaner and the 8000 series AC your neighbor has good taste and good looking equipment. Kinda curious what was the tractor 8050 or 8070???

Love the videos. I grew up in Denison/Dunlap and moved to Texas in 2003. I keep telling my wife that I want to retire in Iowa. I ordered the grey/RWB. Can I get an autograph please?
Do you have someone that feeds the oats or do you take them to the auction where you sell small bales of hay? The farmer that I used work for would sell them to horse people. I don't miss stacking itchy straw on hayracks or again in the barn.
@@iowANFarmer I think the raisin crop in California may be limited this year due to drought and fires. I don't think they can store them in the used grain bins so they cam wait for a better price.
Nothing much fun about harvesting oats as I remember. We did up to 500-acres for seed annually in the 70’s. Dirty and itchy. At least yours are standing
Just curious what sorta coin did u get for out of the field straw, I am 15 and have a custom baling and wheat straw business (should be about 40,000 custom bales by the end of the year, already have done 19,000 and 6,000 bales of straw in which we stack by hand, but I get 2.55 out of the field selling to Amish just curious what you would get without your straw market being flooded. Btw fantastic video love your content
Like the neighbors choice in equipment - Gleaner & an Allis 8000 series pulling the cart
Great to some orange stuff on the channel. Thanks Ben
Ummmmm I mean Allis Chalmers orange
A little orange never hurt anyone!
Always nice to thank the man that takes the time to beat out a field of oats for you!! Thanks!
Nice seeing that old Gleaner out there strutting it’s stuff.

Gleaners are the BEST!!! You should have some
For me, oats were the second itchiest crop after milo. Dreaded harvest and we always baled the straw.
I never harvest milo, but from what I’ve been told it’s a nasty one.
@@iowANFarmer you were told right! Maybe worse was hauling baled milo stubble. Just awful.
Great job baling Ben
dogs and baling small bales are the best.
just baled another field yesterday.
I can not believe you only have 45 k subscribers. You do a good job with your channel.
We’re just a humble little one that shows steady growth.
Molly, I like the music you selected for showing the combine harvesting the oats !
Appreciate the videos keep them coming I got the new red white and blue hat really nice new hats thanks big fan
Sweet! Thanks for ordering a hat!
@@iowANFarmer no problem
Great video Ben
I was 4. But my farming relatives in Marion County Iowa always said there had a great crop of oats that year.
Another great video Ben! Also just bought two more hats off the website like I said I would!
Thanks! I’m going to ship all the hats out in the morning!
Loved the drone shots. You really baled it, I mean nailed it. 👍

Hello Andrew 👋
Hello
Very interesting video about your oats keep up the great work
Thanks for watching Andrew
Great content, thanks for sharing! Truth-there is always next year 👌😎💯
Finally got a real combine in the field 😉
Definitely the r series was the best
Ok that’s a R6 a rare machine only made them one year I think I had a R60 nice video thanks
I couldn’t tell you. I’m not up to par on that lineup of equipment
Yep 1986 was the year!
Another fantastic video by my most favorite farmtuber. Keep up the work 💪.
Thanks Jesse!
I thought we would see molly roll the eyes lolol. Good video.
deutz allis cleaner, never saw a combine like yours. looks like there is big storeage on that beast
Well edited

You guys should consider looking at a S series gleaner to demo
We don’t have a local dealer.
good job man

Great Vid... Keep up the great work !.. No threat from Molly for not hitting the thumbs up?
She’s in your guys minds now. Like if you do something wrong, momma will always know.
That's a bummer about the straw not adding up like you had hoped. Small grains are a fickle crop.
What I don’t understand is why. The oats made 80 and I was happy with that.
Stupid question..... The oats that you harvested can you put them in your planter and replant then and grow more?
I am sure he can they are not GMO
There Are rules you have to follow. Google bin run oats.
So I half to ask why didn't u combine your own oats? Thanks for the vid Ben
It was 12 aces and my neighbor was doing his.
Do you have someone that feeds the oats or do you take them to the auction where you sell small bales of hay? The farmer that I used work for would sell them to horse people. I don't miss stacking itchy straw on hayracks or again in the barn.
They are for feed.
There’s a shed rolling around in your field of oats.
I made a joke about that with him.
👍👍
So how many bowls of oatmeal did you harvest:) . Enjoyed the video. This coming week is going to be very hard on crops and farmers.
A lot. Now all I need is the Raisins

Why not use one of your combines to harvest the oats, Goderich Ontario Canada
One was broke that was set up to do oats and Jim was going to cut his. It was only 12 acres
So just curious...what will you do with the oats? Maybe I missed it.
Feed oats.

Maybe I missed it, but how many acres in the field of oats?
12
Why can't you cut them with your combine and fold your chopper up?
He was going cutting his and this was 12 aces. Kept me in the sprayer.
Don't let Tony Reed see that combine

Why don’t you have your own combine with a head that cuts oats
This was simpler. I only cut 12 acres
