This is the second part to my building my CNC router series of videos. In this video I cover the cyclonic dust bucket, electronics case/enclosure, HDPE spindle mount and my dust shoe/skirt design.
Please remember to check out my other videos and subscribe if you want to see more CNC related videos. Thanks for watching!
Background music is by Kevin MacLeod and the song is called Dirt Rhodes.
This is a very nice machine and you have a dedication to detail like I did building my first CNC Router. Very similar ideas to the dust extraction system. Home built CNC is so very popular these days.
The quick release system uses some rare earth magnets. Some of the magnets are sunk into the plastic and others are raised so when the two pieces (dust shoe and dust skirt) come together the magnets not only hold them together but also align the two via the raised magnet slipping into the sunk magnets hole.
I've got the CAD files on my website under downloads if you want to check it out.
Impressive. Your attention to detail is what makes the video worth while. Gives the impression that, if you take your time, anyone can build one. I'll let you know in about a year and a half.
So how did it go?
Congratulations, your excellent videos I & II. Learned but with the knowledge and dedication given by you.
The magnetic holder is a great idea !! Thank you.
Nice job, Thanks for sharing your ideas on Dust collection.
Good and nice job!
Congratulation!
Yep, the xbox controller lets me quickly move the position of the spindle manually so I can get it right where I need it before I start cutting anything.
Creative and careful! Great job!
I dont think the structure was designed for loads that will be encountered when working with ferrous materials. I'd say that this video is inspirational....I want to build one too.
This is such impressive work
really good one.
Haha yea my first wooden CNC was the worst in the world! My new one is much better. I have already purchased a cable chain, I decided not to make my own because of the time involved, too much work. I don't have any ATC system set up, I'd love one but they are way out of my price league. Maybe on my next CNC router!
Holy shit dude, you blow my mind. Firstly I just have to ask, how to did you fabricate the quick release system on the dust shoe?
Nice work!
congratulation good work
Me to maybe a year if I go crazy. Excellent vid though. Need to do more in depth and exhaustive on the whole thing though. We sure can use more quality vids Particularly on this subject. I AM impressed.
Were you buy the eletroctronic parts? Driver for stepper motors, stepper motors and so on?
I wouldn't have thought of attaching the dust skirts with magnets - how do they handle the movement and vibration ?
It's not easy to build......Congratulations.could you please tell me which plc you use on it ?
Is there a ready made kit you can recommend to build a CNC wood router?
awesome , what was your budget for this ?
Si se cortan materales ferrosos, ¿no serían atraídos al sistema magnético de liberación rápida del aspirador? Saludos y felicidades por tu proyecto, esta genial.
I'm very happy for your video.
From your inspiration, I wanna start to make my DIY CNC router.
I wanna use nema34 stepper motor. What kinds of Gecko G540, I have to use?
