I woke up after dreaming about climbing, so I've got up and found your video, it's really taken me back in time, used to climb Stanage various areas, crack n corner area and paradise wall area and Burbage north area which had some lovely shorter climbs in particular a E1 that I fell from, absolutely shattered the rock on the second nut placement, thankfully the first held strong and saved me only 6inches from the ground. It was funny watching you say how cold it was, we tended to go to north Wales and climb the multi-pitch climbs up on Idwal slabs and the Gribbon (Griffin) in the winter, must have been made climbing such long climbs in the freezing temperatures of the late 80's earlier 90's ... Anyway, thanks for the memories and happy climbing. Olly.
Years ago I was leading a route on Shepherds Crag in Borrowdale which had a rather tricky finish. My West Cumbrian climbing friend had a border collie which came everywhere with us. It knew the area well so when I came to top out the dog had found its way up via the walkers' path and was licking my face and trying to push me off. I reckoned that it put the grade up at least one notch and was rather typical of the peculiarities of Lake District climbing.
Thanks 😊 Great to meet you too. Had a good little session at Higgar tor but will have to wait until next week for the video. Hope the wrist is feeling better
I’m just starting out at awesome walls Sheffield. Can you recommend any outdoor instructor for when I progress. Trad is where I eventually want to get to. Thanks
Hi Lee, thanks for your message. Both Brett and I are qualified Climbing Instructors, we’re able to provide courses aimed at delivering skills for trad climbing :)
@@TheClimbingNomads ...it is. I was lazy do descent summits so start flying down and soon after XC, comps and here I am (polish national team). I start climbing again this year after 25 years off - still fit @45;)
Good to meet you on Saturday at Awesome Walls! Love this clip, & well climbed! :-)
Thanks! 🙏

Olly.
Brings back memories of climbing with my departed brother. Even the thought of the top out on right unconquerable brought a smile.
Sorry for your loss. Funny how certain climbs stick stronger in the memory.
A definite brown pants top out!

😆 have a friend who’s collie also used to do that! Definitely adds to the grade top out!
Video's like this have made me start climbing!
Thanks Ray 😊

@@rayft1422 Been many times to Isle of skye beautiful part of British isles.
We've all been there. You think you've got it in the bag but the final move proves to be the crux.
Yep it certainly was! 😬
Great video guys! Looks chilly
Thank you 😊
The infamous last move !
🤣 thought it was all over, just one last move to go.
Great job guys. Really enjoyed your skill and courage 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻xx
Thanks David 😊
Thanks David 😊
Ah Gritstone... All sloping slappers and belly flop finishes :-)
:) yes, we both seem to be getting gritstone rashes!
Good job hanging out in the cold.
Thanks, was pretty cold 🥶
Nice one guys, right unconquerable i have only 2nd it and yes the top is unexpected 😂😂😂 weather up there today was perfect 👍👍👍
Thanks Ian, yep thought the climb was over when I got to the lip!
Paradise wall is a great climb, used to be VS in one of the guide books, probably more realistic as it flows quite nice.
👍 will give it a try when we’re next over there :)
Paradise Wall, was my first lead on the gritstone. Happy memories takes me back.
Solid effort for a first lead!!
Quality top-out! :) Good to meet you guys the other day. Hope you crushed.
Thanks 😊

No, it’s going to be sore for a while. Wrists take ages to improve. Frustrating as I need to get back on Hemline and Shit.
Topping out on the gritstone edges is rarely elegant 🤣🤣
Yep this one was particularly inelegant! 🤣
