Do you also attach your wingleash on the waistbelt or do you think having both - wing and boardleash - attached there would be too messy and easily get tangled?
I have always attached wrist leash to my wrist and board leash to a waist least as it kept the feet clear for easy transitions and not worrying about leash tangling. Now that I do more freestyle I don’t use board leash at all. One some specific wave days I do though to avoid long swims!
I use a cheap dog walking waist leash belt for board leash and a cheap weightlifting belt with small back support for harness. It works for me. Just non related question, how did you remove wind noise from your footage? I don't see a mic on you
Hey Den, Charles here. The idea of a dog walking waist leash belt for board and weightlifting belt for back support is a good idea and has other cross over purposes :); like the idea of that! There are many solutions though I've concluded this being best for me currently. Since this leash belt is a bit "wider" it does offer an even support when I fall and board pulls one way. In terms of the wind noise... We stand a little bit side to the shore where the wind doesn't touch directly on and use a microphone with a wind cover. Also Barlin who helps film puts his body directly infront of camera to further reduce noise. I also talk a bit louder than I normally would. The sound is not 100% though its as good as we can get on a windy day. Hope that helps-
The leash is too short and springy from my perspective, it can be dangerous when it will pull the board back and that can hit into a rider's head. That happened with me when I was using coil leash, though it was longer and not that springy.
Definetly when using a leash you want a helmet. The second is that I should update this video as with further extensive testing the leash can use a major improvement in terms of the connection points of the leash. They tend to break with sufficient pull though not justifiable for a leash to snap. We have had 3 leashes snap in the same place and have addressed the situation with the company to improve this point. Also the length is a debate though instead of using 4.5 using 5.5 might help give bit more margin of error though if to long and dragging it also can be annoying.
@@charlesosterlund7303 I got hit into my nose. Regular helmet wont help. :) Unless I had a motorbike or a hockey helmet with cage. (m/b a good idea). Now I am using a karate technique - blocking my head with arms and/or legs. Also I am using roll leash for heavy (50kg) dogs. It is long - 5m, and does not pull the board back.

@@lbcabarete Thank Charles. I thought you maybe using some kind off AI tool for noise reduction. Quality video, good stuff.
@@dengordo :D soon I won’t need to be in the videos it will all be AI…. All good-

@@mm74forums7 that is part of trade off of not having full face. Pros and cons to all sides!
Happened to me as well. Bought a oceanus reel leash right after. It's been 2 months now using it and couldn't be happier, that leash is awesome.
