It's nice to see young guys getting into vintage bikes, modding them up and enjoying them. I'm in the beginnings of a xs650 brat build and I'm 40 years old. Wish I would have done this kinda thing earlier in life.
Thank you in advance, I'm about to start my 76 cb750 scrambler build. This is one of those after the fact "why didn't I think of that?" preventative tips that I already know would have otherwise caused me quite a bit of grief. You're the bomb, fo'real.
Thanks Goldguy....Made my day Now that I know how to disassemble my bike...probably got confidence to start my own project.....Make MORE Cafe Racer projects...Thumbs up👍
Good job 👍 Thanks! I think I saw something may have happened to the clutch basket. Shhh, I won't tell anyone. I like your candid approach to the whole project. Plus, you are helping someone out there who may need some of those parts!
Man that was mighty funny... You know you can take the frame off the engine instead of the engine out of the frame... Way easier LOL. Keep it up friend! I enjoy those videos.
God damn its cool cafe racer . I'm trying to find o good bike for cafe racer & Honda CB750 looks best . Together with your videos it's much easier to start and do my project.
They make the bolt and the nut different sizes so that if you only have one socket set you can still get it off aka using a 16mm and a 14mm socket instead of requiring two of the same size.
Yes, engines are heavy. That's either a two-man job, or at best needs a small jack under it, and a cherry-picker hangin' on to it up top. Or, where feasible, sit the bike on its side and wriggle it outta the frame. (One of the cool features of early Honda Shadows, maybe current ones, I dunno, is the front section of down-tube that unbolts to make installation or removal easier.) You'll fuck your back up good, doing that. I speak from experience, on all counts.
4:48 they make the bolt and nut different sizes so you don't need two of the same size wrench to service it, like if you were just using the mobile tool set on the road.
I found it easier to disassemble the wheels, swing arm and front forks first, then lay the bike over on a blanket, unbolt the engine and then lift the frame off the engine. The frame is much lighter than the engine.
9:37 i thought it was rust ._. that's a good looking bike (from your next videos) and $500 bucks? dang that was lucky of you..... in my country a $500 money can't even get a secondhand big bike ._.
Great videos! I want to know what is the sanding disc attachment you use for your drill when you clean the engine? And is that small hammer called a tap hammer? I'm interested in the tools you use, thanks!
Hi! Nice bike! A question what you did from minute 8.55 to 9.10...is possible do the same on the gs850? I would like to make something like a bobber but i can not modify the frame. Do you think that it would work?
I'm no mechanic, but saw in another video that those little bracket things on the bottom of the front forks, go back on a specific side, in a specific direction. Timestamp'd: ua-cam.com/video/HDfQ0mTWfdA/v-deo.html#t=10m16s Just an FYI, not sure if it makes any difference. Great short series, man.
I spent about $400 on parts, but the bike came with a lot of parts when I bought it. I didn't have to buy too much, I already had a lot of it. And some of it, I made
They make the bolt and nut different sizes in case you only have one wrench or socket set. That way you don't need to go out and buy another set just for the same sizes
Dude I love your videos very helpful. Your awesome. Thank you I just bought an 81 CB750 and was worried about what I was going to do. But you have made me see what I couldn't
The way to get the engine out of the bike is to lay it on its side, and lift the FRAME away from the engine. By the way, have I told you lately: I LOVE your channel (that I JUST discovered and subscribed to), and I’m watching every single video, but that you’ve GOT to lose the crap music? Ummm... Yeah... 😜😜😜

Tip: lay the bike on its side and take mounting bolts out, should be able to stand bike back up and bam! Keep em coming

What seat is that I’m building a Cb900c. And I’m trying to pick a seat.
It's a really common seat from eBay. Just go on eBay and search for cafe racer seats and you will find it
GoldGuy thank you.
How did you remove your chain ?
Damion Riley Master link

It's just a brat style seat I bought on eBay for around $100!
