I remember VERY long time ago randomly seeing this game's jacket with those guys on it in a video game store and I couldn't help but think of that enemy from the first rayman with his gun shooting hammers, their faces looks pretty similar.
The Parodius of Light Gun games. I always thought this RPG/shooter concept would make an interesting spinoff to Wild Arms where you shoot enemy projectiles out of the air while attacking their weak spots a la House of the Dead, perhaps letting you switch ammo types.
I know the same feeling about finding RPG elements in anything thats not actually an RPG 😂. I know you've already covered it, but in Kirbys Super Star on the SNES when you fight the virus in the cave or w/e mode, it blew my mind the first time 😮.
Haven't played Point Blank in ages but had a lot more fun with it then I ever did with 'shoot the baddies' light gun games, great game, as long as you don't play it on the ds I'm also getting 'If WarioWare was a light gun game' vibes.
@@ivortering7120 Most of the contents from the PS1 version were striped away. You only have Arcade mode and few Freeplay options and it's basically became a glorified "generic touch screen" game. Lack of passion, perhaps.
Well this game is best known for its minigames anyway. Also lol imagine losing too many agility in the RPG mode and then you move slowly to encounter more enemies. It's gonna be fun i bet!
I did NOT know about this game and it looks so silly! Sounds like a fun combination I've never expected (specially the RPG side lmao), I wish there was another game like this with the wackiness it holds, would be so fun
Huh, it's weirders levels ever and underrated games in one video. Nice! Also, wait. If agility tied to walking speed, shouldn't oposite be also true? That sprin-mint. Probably it's the item that increses agility? Just a random guess.
0:27 Very random, but that sound effect reminds me of the Hunting Girl enemies from Symphony of the Night. 2:14 I might have to consider this, as I'm revisiting the game on Lunatic x)
I love your videos, i have discovered many great and interesting video games through them, this one specifically appeals to my always present question of "What if X game/genre had RPG mechanics?" It looks really fun, even if the agility feature is clearly terrible. Keep up the good content, always nice to see one of your uploads, thank you.
The first time I saw gameplay for this game was for a maximum score TAS, I then found out that your expected to use the DPAD TO CONTROL THE GUN. God I wish there was an accessory or even compatibility with the PS1 mouse for me to experience the game well.
You know, I wish more games experimented combining different genres. Imagine: rythm game × light gun Sports game x jrpg FPS x puzzle games Visual Novel x survival horror
I think we played the same demos as kids, i loved this one! also as a fan of point blank as well as RPGs i was also fasinated by this strange mode! I also hated Kotaro's ninjas in FE conquest.
Still think it's weird that they never made any Point Blank games for PS2. I'm kind of surprised they didn't revive the franchise for VR stuff to be honest.
The PS2 Japan only Gunvari collection had these 4 exclusive 3D Point Blank stages in the main menu which seemed like some kind of demo/sneak peak for a 4th Point Blank for PS2 but was cancelled
I have the DS version of Point Blank, I swear it's a nostalgic feeling that I'm about to take out of the grave, because I found out one of my DS loading wires is still functional. Unlike this slow ass PS cursor, you just aim by touching the lower screen.
10:35 It's stupid? I guess so after seeing what it was. ...wouldn't it be better if the characters just asked the assistant "Okay, where can I get one?" Wouldn't it be better if the resulting quest was built on the answer? Assuming you can't just buy a card on the scene, of course, but still!
had that problem with suikoden 2, to recruit a character, we need to be faster than him, how you get faster? lv, no. equipment, no. you have to run away in battles, so annoying.

Imagine someone taking that light gun RPG game concept to the fullest and making a whole game based on that! Wouldn't it be nice?
I was actually thinking about that! It'd be so fun to see something like that nowadays
@@13.ghaniziyadsagiansyah66 Do I look like the kinda person to hate gun games?
DUCK HUNT RPG

What's wrong with DS version though?

I just realized their heads are shaped like bullets
I thought they were supposed to parody Bert and Ernie, only older and with moustaches
The real Enter the Gungeon character design
Well this game is best known for its minigames anyway. Also lol imagine losing too many agility in the RPG mode and then you move slowly to encounter more enemies. It's gonna be fun i bet!
Nothing more intimidating than Cardboard Ninjas making you drink Tobasco Sauce.
Point Blank had such a creative atmosphere. I loved it.
I loved Point Blank, and to be honest, forgot about Point Blank Island. So this unlocked a memory for me.
5:00 - No! Tabasco sauce! My one weakness!
Dang I remember seeing that Point Blank game cover in a game store some 24+ years ago
You just unearthed a wild old memory from me
Point Blank is is the best light gun game ever made. It's in my all time top 10 and the reason I search thrift shops every few years for a CRT.

I though I recognized these two charters never knew what game they were form. Thanks for posting this .

Finished this mode back in June of 1998-fun memories!
Sounds like it could be easily adapted to Wario.
Ah, man, I used to have that game! The quest mode stuff in Point Blank has really catchy music, you should cover it more sometime!
Point blank is a serious underrated gem.
Ah, Point Blank. The memories uwu Can't forget about the third game's island mode's background music.... "OH YEAH! OH YEAH! OH YEAH! OH YEAH!"
Why do these protags look like a crossbred between Bert & Ernie and Wario & Waluigi?

rythm game × light gun
Sports game x jrpg
FPS x puzzle games
Visual Novel x survival horror
I love how they look like muppets
All these guys on the box art really look like they’re wearing the Kanbei outfit.
i remember buying a PS1 Light Gun only to play this game. Never regretted.
I think we played the same demos as kids, i loved this one!

Never heard of the game. Looks cool.
Imagine if the Bishi Bashi games had an RPG mode...
Imagine escaping battles just to increase stats of your character, its so tedious and not fun at all
Thats not the negative to me, so much as if you fail to get away you lose half of your stat, which is a huge punishment
the whole campaign has weird humor
The Flatwoods Monsters falling out of the UFOs XD
Nice Video really like your content❤
I see Point Blank on the thumbnail, I click!

Why do they look like if Ernie and Bert had hamburger children together?

Point Blank? Nice.
I think assistant backtracking is meta irony or just trolling of gamers.
have you played Mario Party Advance?
I miss the experimental attitude from Sony
you wanted that shotgun badly didnt you
bang x 1000
Point blank is truly one of the shooters of all time.
