Probably my favourite carol from King's. This arrangement by June Nixon has such strong yet beautiful harmonies that cannot be missed and epic sound effects produced by the church organ.
yes, it's nice to read a comment about Alex Stobbs, he was one of my favorite choristers, and later, one of my favorite choral scholars. And he plays the organ too. I love the organ. I am an enthusiastic amateur, took lessons in the late 80's. The Choir of King's College, Cambridge is THE BEST CHOIR E.
Lovely. Just lovely.
I like this tune and the arrangement. Such determination and bravery from Alex Stobbs. He's still battling on now - in 2019.

A great old carol. This tune is new to me but just as beautiful and very catchy.
This new melody to "The Holly and The Ivy" has appeal especially when sung by an exquisite choir.
Great arrangement... and singing !
June Nixon's arrangement is now published by Encore Publications.
I love it sung by a single
