I chopped up some ancient squid from my freezer and tossed it in from the shore of a bay last week. Caught a small reddie and a to the backing run off a shark before it bit me off. I've got some chopped up mullet for the next fishing session. Be happy to catch a decent red.

does the depth you are fishing matter for burly? I'm in about 30m when i'm snapper fishing in NSW
