$30 per test! That's awful, and out of my price range, because I have minibeds and a row garden. I haven't done a test for years because I have so many spots that would need testing and I couldn't possibly afford.

The rotting wood sucks the available nitrogen out of the soil. Rabbit manure is extremely low in nitrogen but a good source of P and K. I would suggest checking the boron level of the soil also.

I'd like to add an observation - if Wanda needs iron, animal products are a far better source. This quote is from the NIH website: Dietary iron is found in two forms, heme and non-heme iron. Heme iron, which is present mainly in meat, poultry and fish, is well absorbed. Non-heme iron, which accounts for the majority of the iron in plants [1], is less well absorbed. More than 95% of functional iron in the human body is in the form of heme.

I used to throw my grass clippings in my garden to suppress the weeds for a long time. It worked very well suppressing the weeds. Tested it one year everything good but high in nitrogen. I always had a fantastic garden so that season I didn’t use grass clippings, I had weeded until I was blue in the face and sedge grass blew in with their deep tangle of roots and took over my beans never getting a decent harvest. Found Kevin and Sara over the winter and used their remedy for MO weeds.

Good morning mentors! Just got my results, have a lot of work to do with medium nutrient density score at 33% 😮.

This was so informative. I know it would probably be long to film amending all the beds, but maybe you can show what you do to just one on the north and one on the south. Your hoop system using easily available materials at the big box store is ingenious, and if I get a Vego bed in the future, one I can see myself copying.

Great explanation on soil testing. Maybe some day I'll be able to afford it. I really do appreciate you going into nutrient density. Thank you!
