My daughter is 3 now and we live in London. On her first birthday, due to covid regulation, we had only 4 guests though I bought a custom made princess frock from India which costed few Ks and the only 10 mins she wore it, she cried her lungs out. Pretty sure that she doesn't enjoy that day. Lesson learnt on her 2nd birthday, along with her , selected a frock of her favourite color. And the day was much better. On her 3rd birthday, we took her to a trip that she wanted, she selected her own cake, did what she wanted and she was very happy.
We realised until she asks for a fancy party, we wanted her to enjoy her day :) :)
Great idea! Thanks for sharing. We could do the same next year. Ask her to pick her favourite food, dress and a slice of cake from a shop too 😇

Highly could resonate with watever u said. The children must be happy by the end of the day. They will not be happy with the bad routine and spending the day with strangers lifting them up. We planned the same for our daughters. ❤ Much love to your family

Theme laam kidayaathu. Apdina ennanu kuda theriyala this. Orru decent aana decoration , cake then namma orru non veg briyani Avlo dhan. Later we didn’t celebrate their birthdays as a party….until they joined school and wanted to celebrate with their school mates.
Now my elder one is 18 yrs …and we celebrated it once with her cousins at home and second time with her friends.

Everything is an experience....loved the birthday video. Its tough to organise ..we just went thru that for my niece 1st birthday.
It was like a competition mode among various sections of people rather than a fun day but thats the sad reality .....

My son is same age as Meenakshi he turned 2 in October and naange north India la irukom so we too were away from family 1st birthday ku yaarume varalla only friends and colleagues simple a veetliye cake cut panitom so i thought to do ghe same for 2 birthday and we celebrated at home i cooked dinner with my friends help it was really enjoyable cost effective and was truly memorable but best suprie to us was both of our family came together to celebrate our son's birthday as a suprise ❤
