The thing is that they don't even really compete with each other from a musical standpoint. It's two different sounds altogether. I'm also glad that she pointed out that her vocal tone was not right for certain parts. However, when the part was right she nailed it. Kelly is very talented as are the other members of DC. I'm glad that the members of DC are more mature than some of their fans (not you but some are "out there").

Even when people called in they said her album wasn't good and said they liked Beyonce voice better.And I am a Beyonce fan and I feel like people look at her success and look at the other DC members success annd are quick to put blame on why they aren't as big. Bottom line is sometimes people just don't make it.
@pumkinpie27 How can you assume what Kelly felt? I'm only guessing. She said she wasn't ready so their had to be something that she felt that made her uncomfortable during those early days. You are only looking at the early days of DC and thinking that type of thing stayed throughout it all but it didn't. And I never said Beyonce sung lead. And Kelly was given a chance to lead. Bootylicious. But still people only looked at Beyonce cause she was the bootylicious one.

She was like i said a back up singer. when your in a 'Group" everyone gets a turn to be lead, unless they establish a lead. In interviews with DC Beyonce herself said there is no lead. So if she felt she wasnt ready, why would she feel that way? she was never given a chance to lead.

Along the way you started saying things about how Beyonce got everything while Kelly got barely anything. That wasn't what we were talking about. @hiks54 Thank you! I dont know why these stanz like to argue people down over they're opinion. I really dont think beyonce is that great of a singer! When she sang cross roads, theyre were a lot of parts that she could have sung better, thats my opinion! They need to come off it!
@pumkinpie27 Beyonce had blonde hair from the beginning. It just suits her face. Like dark hair suits Kelly. All the things had different color hair. You would have prefered Kelly with the blonde. Do you think that would have helped her more? You seem to pay more attention to everything Beyonce did then anything Kelly did. And she did do a lot. Had commercials and side projects. Did movies and other things. But the public just payed more attention to Beyonce. Obviously you did too.
@pumkinpie27 She could of meant on stage. Things changed when they became a 3 member group. Singing on the record and singing live is 2 different things. You have to sell yourself. Maybe stage fright. Listening to her voice on Writings on the Walls and then Survivor, she sounds different. Voice is stronger. Even Beyonce's voice is different compared to now and then. You have to call things like it is. She didn't sing everything once they became a 3 member group.

@pumkinpie27 Now you are changing around her words because you must not like Beyonce. She said that she wasn't ready. Not that anybody else said she wasn't ready. And as the person said, Beyonce sang most of the songs on The Writings on the Wall. On their last 2 albums it became 3 people singing. That's what I meant when I said call it like it is. Which is that things changed. But people always looked at Beyonce even when things changed. She just had that appeal.

Atleast the songs that actually got promoted. Kelly was pretty much a background singer beyonce was always front. She was never given a chance to be in front like beyonce. Beyonce always sang lead so she might as well been solo. Kelly was lead to belive she wasnt ready by mat knowls beyonce dad.

And i agree she does get unfairly attacked when she wasnt running things, her dad was. And Im just talking about what i observe. @pumkinpie27 Your facts aren't right. These are your opinions. I'm saying to you go and look and listen to Destiny's Child songs when they were 3 people. You hear 3 voices all the time. And as a 3 someone they got endorsements and all kind of other things. Now as solo artist, not everyone is going to be as big as Beyonce. If Beyonce's dad wasn't her manager and it was someone else, it wouldn't be his fault for their failure. But people want to say he tries to keep them down. Why would he do that

@pumkinpie27 People do heavy promotion and still have flopped albums. It's about if the public likes it or not. If they buy it or not. That has nothing to do with promotion. He's not their manager now so what's the excuse? Kelly's songs still only made one of Billboards charts. I think you just always paid attention to what Beyonce was doing and not to what the other girls was doing. Why don't you go back and look at everything from Survivor onward and then say something again.

Oversees she's great but here in the states the people just don't pay attention. That has nothing to do with management. And remember her label dropped her so it's not like he was her only problem. They didn't have faith in her probably from the start. You have to be backed by everybody, not just some people.
