like what Magnussen did in 100free, he reached his PB with a time of 47.10, which is the fastest ever in textile at Olympic trials while his best at olympic and championship is 47.53 and 47.49
200 Free at the olympics always has the best races 2004: van den Hoogenband, Thorpe, Phelps, Hackett, Keller 2008: Biedermann, Phelps, Vanderkaay, Tae-Hwan, Basson 2012: Sun, Tae-Hwan, Agnel, Lochte, Biedermann. (Phelps probably could've entered as he was still a good 200 freestyler) Some god like company right there. Heres to 2016 being just as good
The Arena X- Glide tech suit he wore in 2009 increased his buoyancy due to it made of 100% polyurethane. Beidermann was a pretty big and bulky guy when he set that record. The transition from the body suits to jammers hurt big guys like him because now he has to work harder to keep that weight afloat, where the bodysuit+weight combo used to make people like him incredible. Bob Bowman said it himself though. it took Phelps 5-6 years to drop 4 seconds in the 200. Biedermann did it in 11 months.
I think 08 and 09 were too recent when this happened, so the commentators don't realise what an incredible feed 1:43.14 is. No one since has even come close, yet the announcers just shrug it off, like it's an ok time or something.
@@shiftyboi8827 I’m pretty sure eldoug knows that; I think his point is that yannick is probably faster over water than underwater since Lochte already has world class underwaters.

I'm so excited to see how they do. There has been controversy about Yannick being sick and adding events at the last second, and there has been stuff about Sun having coaching issues. I can't wait to see if they can overcome their difficulties.
Yannick Agnel have still had best record 1.45.48 in 2013 which is in front of 1.45.97 of Ryan Lochte. coaching issues could impact negatively sun yang in championships. anyway, I totally believe that he is invincible in 1500m at least
supatvshowuploader Yes Phelps' Beijing time was quicker.... because he wore a Speedo LZR. Not as fast as Biedermann's suit (Rome), but still quicker than those worn by the London field. Worth roughly a second over a textile, so without it the time would've been around what he did to win 07 Worlds (1.43.86). Good for silver here, but (probably) not enough to beat Agnel.
phelps had been at his peak in 2007 not 2008 before supersuits was applied...I think that he would never get under 1.44 again without LZR suits. It is proven that phelps swam 1.44.79 in textile (off his PB by 0.93) in shanghai 2011 or 1.44.05 as anchor leg in london 2012.
and don't forget Park Tae Hwan. a little part may be Paul Biedermann. 200m freestyle is still the most interesting race in championships with 4 olympian gold medalists, 1 WR holder and potential new stars

I didn't want Sun Yang or Park Tae Hwan won; let them only take 400m and 1500m which belonged to them.

That would probably be pretty close. Yannick does 3:43 for 400, Sun does 4:40 and Yannick is the faster 200m swimmer.
Popovici why did you beat Agnel !!!!!🤬🤬🤬
2016 200m there's no full video on the match...
Biedermann shouldn’t be the WR holder. Never even finished top 3 without the suit at an international meet.
What happened between Sun Yang and Park Taiwan or however it's spelled, what happened since they tied?
They both get silver and no bronze medal is awarded to anyone.
Shinoda908 oh ok
Park Taiwan Lol
3:23 I think his jammer is to small lol

Why isnt michael swimming can someone please tell me?
Yes i have none. But you also have none. you and your country don't have any gold medalists in swimming but we (america) does. That is something to be proud of.
He did 1m47.2 after my comment :v. However, Magnussen is able to increase his record in 200m, agnel as well in 100m
