A few years ago, I went through a season of tragedy. My older brother, Jacob, who was my best friend and someone I looked up to in every way, lost his life in a car accident at the age of 23.
I can remember that night so vividly. Police officers were standing at the front door and I knew in that moment that something had gone wrong. I walked into the living room and my parents were in complete and total despair. That night I heard God's voice so clear and He spoke to me for the first time. He said, "Anne, are you going to trust me or not?" I answered, "Jesus, I trust you."
In an instant, Jesus lifted the heavy weight off and told me that He would give me everything I need to get through this. Journaling became a part of my healing process. Jesus began to show me that He was a personal God.
Before I knew it, I was turning those journal entires into songs. As I was writing one day, I looked back into my journal and I realized that I never wrote "Jesus," "God" or "Lord." I always wrote "My Jesus" and that's what inspired me to write this song.
When people hear to this song, I want them to feel that Jesus is personal; and while our stories may look different, the same Jesus that I call "My Jesus" can be your Jesus too.

Anne I wanted you to know how much this song has impacted my life. I labored my baby to this song at home; sang and danced through contractions to it. 10 days after my baby had been born he ended up in the hospital with viral meningitis, a kidney infection, and a horrible bladder infection, that some babies don't live through. I held onto your song, blasted it, cried singing it time after time but held on to the meaning. By the power of God my baby boy(who is a rainbow baby) was able to come home within 3 days of being in the hospital, and is now a healthy 2 month old. Thank you Jesus for bringing Anne into this world to spread your name and for healing my son 🙏 💙 ❤. May God continue to bless you and your family Anne thank you for sharing your voice and story.

Anne, I just got done reading your book. I am 14 years old and I have grown up in a Christian family. Your book has changed my life last night i sang the song "My Jesus" and I came to tears becuase now I understand what all the words mean. and my Jesus has changed that through you. Sadly not everyone chooses this narrow path when they suffer loss. It's a great testimony. There is no easy way to deal with grief. Those who turn to alcohol, drugs and other things find themselves in more suffering and only making life more difficult.
It’s Memorial Day weekend and I am missing my husband, my best friend, who went Home to My Jesus in 2017. I came across this song and your testimony this morning. In my journey I can relate to Jesus saying, “Are you going to trust Me?” I had to choose between trusting my Jesus or being destroyed. It is so true.....Jesus is so personal and so very near to us in every moment. Thank you for writing this song and sharing your testimony of beautiful faith. God Bless You!❤️

When I first heard this song I thought a child's song. AND I know that's TRUE. The song does resonate with many people. IN order to know GOD PEOPLE NEED to read GOD'S WORD AND truly know GOD not only in a personal way but the relationship will flourish into a relationship like no other. GOD'S WORD. and we should ALL remember we are the servant not GOD is the servant. Sometimes there's a tendency for PEOPLE to confuse who's who. MAY THE LORD BLESSINGS BE UPON AMERICA'S PEOPLE AND AMERICA'S LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES EVERYWHERE.

I understand tragedy very well with lossing loved ones, my little girl born too soon hit me super hard in 2014. Thank you for being an inspiration. My Jesus changed my life for sure.
