Wow! Don't go running threw that landscape in the dark. I didn't realize those cactus are so slow-growing. My family and I are taking a trip to AZ next week (1st time).
Not sure how I never found your channel. Great stuff. I am a broadcast producer, but enjoy filming wildlife for fun. Im close by you in Fountain Hills, Az. Glad. found you.
Thank you for the kind words! Filming nature is once of the most rewarding things out there in my opinion! I'm glad you enjoy filming wildlife also! Thanks for following along! Maybe we'll bump into each other out there someday!
I found this video by searching UA-cam for anything and everything on the Sonoran Desert. I am very much looking forward to parts 2, 3, 4 ..... and however many other videos you make on the Sonoran Desert. Can't wait to see more - especially Sonoran wildlife!
Thank you Tom! I am working on the next ones actually, so stay tuned!! The Sonoran Desert is so unique, and so biodiverse! Truly an incredible place! Thanks for the comment and I’m glad you enjoyed this video!
Good idea to bring us along with you as you begin this film. I know that there is a lot of work that goes into something like this but now I'll know first hand. I love the desert and can't wait for the next installment
I'm ,excited we're leaving soon, for the desert. This is amazing thank for all your work put into this documentary I enjoyed this it also gives valuable information for our up coming expedition. Which will or might land on UA-cam at a latter date and I really enjoyed this.
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for capturing the stunning gracefulness of the harsh landscape. I went to school in Tucson and had the chance to go to the Sonoran Desert Museum often. It's such a misunderstood environment that's most appreciated up close. Best of luck. I'll be sharing this often.
Love how you narrated your video. It's really cool that you showed the behind the scenes of the filming also then just your filming. Good job! Hope to see more of your work!
Thank you Nikki! I'm planning to show even more behind the scenes in upcoming videos so hopefully you'll enjoy those as well! :) Thanks for the comment!
Hey Alan, another stunning video packed with so much information. I myself, am a beginner film maker and what I would love to see is if you could really break the process down, name the type of shots (eg. where the drone is moving forward and slowly pans up, what is that called? Where would you use it?) Cant wait to see and learn from the rest of your videos. Keep up the good work.
That is a fantastic idea, thank you for inspiration. I appreciate the feedback as it helps me craft ideas that can be the most helpful and effective for people to learn how it all works and comes together in a program. I like this idea and will put something together here in the near future!
Thanks for the video! Maybe you've already seen it, but I would suggest watching Desert Dreams - Celebrating Five Seasons in the Sonoran Desert by Thomas Wiewandt. It contains some really beautiful shots of the area.
Great footage Alan, obviously taken with quality gear. A lot of UA-camr's have a gear list with affiliate links when possible to help monetize their efforts. You might consider doing the same? I for one would want to know more about that off camera monitor you are using as looking at the tiny camera monitor is becoming more difficult as my eyes age at age 55 now especially when out in bright sunlight....
Thanks Joel, a great suggestion. I have thought about it but didn't want to come off as too presumptuous, but I may look into that and see what affiliate link stuff takes to get going. I use the Atomos Ninja V as it also has a record function that can handle the RAW 16bit output from the A7s-III - which means insane dynamic range capabilities. :) As a monitor it is also fantastic and is fairly bright in sunlight conditions. There are plenty of other systems that are solely monitors that are cheaper however and have some great capability as a monitor, for example Small HD. :)
@@FilmingTheWild Ok, thanks! You have a lot of nice gear. I could not justify such prices yet. I did buy, last night, a $150 Feelworld touchscreen monitor and a small shotgun mic to get better sound. Going to see how those work for me? Those and when I get my new fluid head should level up my game a bit. If I grow beyond that and stick with it I will consider better gear at that time......
@@FilmingTheWild True, I have taken some amazing photos over the years with my affordable 90D and Sigma lens's.....it shoots in 4K so the video quality is quite good as well.
The biggest thing is to consider your story and then write to story by filing in as little as you need. Too much can get to wordy! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll put a video together on this soon!
The music is way too loud while the narration is too soft. I had to turn the sound way up in order to understand your speech, but then the music was super annoying. Finally I gave up halfway through. The production quality looks great otherwise.
Thanks for this amazing piece of work. Watching your series for research. The age about the Saguaros impressed me the most.
Glad you enjoyed it! :)

Welcome to Arizona! Running through the desert is definitely not recommended! Ha! Learned the hard way as a kid!
Nice! Keep the good work. Best wishes from Dominican Republic.
Thank you! Im glad you enjoyed it! Much appreciated!
How... you are incredibly talented!
Thank you very much Nick! Glad you enjoyed it!

Of course! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Let me know if you have any questions or if there's any way I can help! Cheers!
Some great scenic shots Alan and interesting info. I had no idea it takes the cactus a century to grow to their first arms!
Thanks Timon! Right? Its crazy to me how long it takes to grow their first arm and that they can be 200 years old or more!
Always good Alan! Thanks for helping us see the beauty in the desert!
Thanks Nick! Always appreciate your kind words!

Sir how to write narrations for ( voice over)or story for wildlife documentary

is this at Cave Creek
