One of their best songs in Ballistic, Sadistic. The melodic part was so beautiful. That's Annihilator right there: The song starts so aggressive and then... becomes so melodic. Amazing band. And the solos were sick!
Maybe Lip Service (Knight Jumps Queen, Pastor of Disaster 2) will get the respect and attention in deserves two decades later on the new album- it really is like every Annihilator fan"s favorite dirty wet thrash moment - loving this tune!

fully agreed- it's obviously a throw back, and becomes it's own song after the intro and main verse. at first I was upset upon hearing this track due to this "self-copying" but have come around and realized jeff knew what he was doing and I'm totally down with it, this track is absolutely great.

Really cool song. A lot of "Knight Jumps Queen" vibes. Also the riff starting at 3:17 reminds me of "Epic of War" mid-section riff.

I agree, it's a beautiful part that. I wish there were more beautiful melodic parts such as this one on this new album, but still it's a great record overall. I just finished listening to my new CD copy which arrived for me today..I enjoyed it, classic sounding Annihilator in parts, but the speed rarely goes less than 90 miles an hour ha ha :-D

I have a theory as to why this song is extremely similar to night jumps queen (If not a direct copy).
I think Jeff probably loves the song knight jumps queen, but is not a fan of the lyrics anymore, I mean who makes a metal song about chess, seriously. So with this album he saw an opportunity to make the song again, with lyrics he prefers and a more modern production. Thus we get this re-imagining of that song.
Complete speculation on my part but in my mind it makes sense and I can see why he would want to do it :) still, whilst it's very similar to KJQ I do like this version of the song too

at first the knight jumps queen part upset me because it's self copying- however after listening a few times the song is so massively different. I think I can live with one section being a rip off. And to be honest, knight jumps queen is amazing anyways so at least they picked a good one.
