Yes. The baby had a spirit/soul and, due to a serious birth defect, the mother terminated the pregnancy.
Even if the baby survived the birth the doctors said it wouldn’t live.

How does the doctor know about a brain deformity from a blood test?
Enzymes in the mother's blood, or amniotic fluid.
