Hello everyone! Check out my short review for World of Illusion on the Sega Genesis. This is the final game to cover in my self-dubbed "Disney Holy Trinity", which also includes Castle of Illusion and Quackshot. How does this one stand up to the others? Find out in my review!

World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck[a] is a platform game developed and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis. The game released in December 1992, and is part of Sega's Illusion series of Mickey Mouse games. The game was included on the Sega Genesis Mini.

Even without the christmas level, it just feels like a game i come back to at that time of year, just so fitting.
Super fond memories of this game as a kid. I think I enjoy Castle of Illusion & Quackshot more, but the atmosphere of this one is forever engrained in my mind. Thanks for watching!
The first game to ever make me experience fear and its purely because of the sunken ship stage. Being stalked through the level by the floor sharks and the sound design in the boss fight really create this unique almost survival horror feel within the confines of a kids game. The way the spider boss taunts you in the background also sticks out in some of my earliest memories.
The game did a lot despite its short length to provide a unique and memorable experience which is pretty remarkable when you consider the impressive line-up the Genesis/Mega Drive had. I would rate it a smidge below Quackshot but it's definitely one of my favourite titles from the console along with Mickey Mania and S3&K.
Playing through co-op with my sisters and friends was always fun and figuring out that all three unique playthroughs had unique stages blew my mind as a kid. It's criminal that the game hasn't seen a re-release yet, I think a Genesis/Mega Drive Mickey collection would sell pretty well, but we all know how little Disney cares about games preservation.
100% the thing that lingers in my head is the nostalgia, slight fear and crazy ambience of the game in general but DEFINITELY the ship level. Honestly a very trippy work of art. I miss the Genesis era Disney games in a big way. Thanks for watching!
Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck is like Bits and Jimmy A!
I've solo'ed the two player mode using both my megadrive controlers turn-based style. It took awhile and was hard at times (the mine cart!) but doable and worth it!
Hahaha, that sounds like quite the challenge run. Might have to do that some time in the future.
But a great fun game. I really need to sit down and really play it. Still haven’t beaten it yet
It's a fun & quick one, you can definitely beat it this weekend if you gave it a go!

Recently went and recompleted Alien Soldier, then week later I went to recomplete this and oh boy the easy difficulty felt like an odd change of pace for me XD.
Prefer World.O.I over the other illusion games on MegaGen n MasterGear n even quack shot. Its the shortest of the series yet has a chill easy vibe so it doesn't overstay it's welcome.
Haha, I could imagine that change in difficulty! And that's fair to enjoy World over the others. The other games aren't hard by any means, but I think the super easy difficulty of World just kind of turns me off SLIGHTLY compared to the others. That being said, I love all 3, just had to pick my favorites haha

Yeahhh, that’s unfortunately my major gripe with this one compared to the others (which are also easy), this is definitely way too easy. Still a super fun game!
