I'm only at 2:46 and I've already learned a huge problem in my process. Just pushing that shape back a bit changed *everything*. Thank you so much for these videos!!!
Love your videos! The window in this video is particularly small and hard to see. Can you remember to make the actual window bigger in the next video? Thanks so much!
he kept it as big as he works on it, his very point was to not work in large so you can better see the overall design of the picture. if you have difficulty seeing it because of it's size you need to practice doing thumbnails and stop paying attention to details.
@@aki-senkinn Strongly agree with you. @17:30 "Troubleshoot your stuff and look at it objectively and very small. See, I'm keeping this at about less than a 1/4 of my total screen real-estate" It's a great technique to keep the whole composition in mind and not get caught up in the detailing.
@@Supreme-Emperor-Mittens Just learn blender, it's free, versatle, and there is heaps of tutes online. Don't get me wrong though, I don't even use blender, I only know Maya, but since you are coming in fresh, you may as well get the program that will always be free. I plan to learn it soon too.
As per usual??? Are we supposed to know what you're talking about? If I were you Tyler, I wouldn't jump in so far so fast. Explain a little more what you're talking about.
@@TylerEdlin84I know for example, that the best part of the video for me is the end (16:53) where you just flat out start blocking in big shapes. To me, I' left the digital art realm a while ago and am returning after I get a new Cintiq in 2019. But I'm using it for sculpting more in Zbrush too and hand animation. This medium just has WAY too many brushed for me not to be overwhelmed and use them on a specific piece. Plus I'm more of a game/stylized guy. I get my main inspiration from Sargent studies.
@@DannyBoy443 yeah i started out doing imaginary realism but i have made significant efforts myself towards stylized looks. i enjoy it more exaggerating shapes and the like
10:52 that simple touch and the painting immediately got much better.

"We want to design this using color, light, and atmosphere."

Priceless. Thx a lot!
Awesome video! Thanx, Tyler!

Akitary and it’s still about 20% zoomed in Compared to its original size so it’s actually viewable on UA-cam
For the Kit Bashing, did you buy a 3d model pack
or did you build the models yourself?
Also, what 3D package are you using?
Thanks.
