Ventrac 4500Z w/ Tough Cut - Mowing SWAMPY Drainage Ditch

- Ventrac 4500Z mowing a drainage ditch with the Tough Cut (HQ680) in 6'+ tall, dense grass. The ground is VERY marshy and in places, quite muddy. On either side of the culverts (area in video is in the middle), the ground is EXTREMELY swampy and muddy, but the Ventrac still got the job DONE. I am confident in saying that the Ventrac 4500 with duals, is one of a very select few, if not the only, ride on machine that could operate, IN, the drainage ditch.

I been cutting grass for 30 yrs commercial company. I don't think any mower could have done as good as that one.
I have a John Deere 1445 with a Peruzzo flail mower on the front and it does a finer job. Mulches significantly better. I love it

I am always amazed at how good a Ventrac is in wet swampy & steep jobs. Grinds it down & gets it done.

Holy cow that thing is a monster! I can’t believe how it just pushes through everything, at every angle, whether on solid ground or in water and just keeps going.

I can't believe it didn't get stuck. It's definitely changed my opinion about it. And I only herd it bog down once. Most would have clogged up and cut off multiple times. Impressive!!!!!

I have a flail mower on my John Deere 1445 and its awesome! It also has a dual wheel kit on the front.
So first off I love my central it does everything and I have the bigger set of duals when you came down the first time the dude with the trimmer was like "well my jobs pointless that machines taken over" 🤣 nice job dude oh 1 more thing to help from burning your belts like you almost did let the mower clear it's self even if you lift it up while turning around so it can clear it's self is fine just let it clear the degree out of the deck so it can mulch and take in more
Nice work! Could you have done that job without the duelies? I have the extended axle kit on mine only.
In some areas of this particular section of the drainage ditch, you might have been able to get away with just having singles, but that is a BIG if. On the others sides of each culvert, you ABSOLUTELY couldn't have done it without duals. I'll put it this way, I wouldn't have gone into the drainage ditch without having the duals on. In my opinion, the wheel extension kit wouldn't have done any good because the weight of the machine is still on four tires. Distributing the weight of the machine over a larger area is the key. @@westriverlawnsnow3452 I appreciate the reply. I may dump the extended axle kit in favor of the duals. That way I have them if I need them. I bought the tractor used so it came with the extended axle kit already.

I don't know but I hope you do a walk thru so you don't hit something you're not suppose to.
Yes, we do walk through the area that is to be mowed to check if there is any large debri and or an area that dosen't have a bottom that the tractor would get stuck in. When doing this kind of work, there is always the possibility of hitting debri of every kind and size as well as finding a really soft spot and getting stuck. You must charge accordingly!
