For recent Yonex racquets you can click up to two 10 cent coins (dime) inside the trapdoor's space to add up to 5 grams total. Might work with 2 eurocent coins as well.
I am considering to do that to a Vcore 95 2023, I am used to Prostaff 97 315 and I feel yonex a bit powerful so maybe that balance will help... One quick question do you put some glue on the trapdoor to avoid moving? or just the 10cents coins?
Funny! 5 years ago i used to test my rackets with dampeners (2g each), in the same way as these solutions, I used to cut them in half and test the postions and how the playability and balance would look like before I went to lead or silicon. I think someone saw my ideas 🤔 hahaha
Quick question! Can I paste the lead strips with superglue or something similar to the lead does not fall off ever? My lead keeps falling off after about a month of use. Or would the glue damage the racket somehow? thanks!
I think adding tungsten putty inside the end cap has the same effect as changing it with the custom cap. Tungsten has a density of 19.3g/cm^3, which is a lot compared to lead (11.3g/cm^3) and copper (9g/cm^3). Thus, a square of 2cm x 1cm * 0.2cm adds approximately 8g.
@@Tennisnerd Hi Jonas. Did you get sent the Katana Sport to try or buy them off Amazon? I’ve been trying to find them but they look out of stock everywhere I look.
Great video I wanna ask. would putting lead tape on 3 and 9 make the frame stiffer? I have an artengo tr960 CT which I like the flex. but I want to add swing weight
Does the 10g endcap weigh 12g+ more than the basic endcap, or weigh 12g+ in total? You see what I'm getting at. If the basic endcap is around 2 grams, then it seems right?
So that butt cap is a great idea. But im trying to add about 30 gm’s to the 3 and 9 positions on the head. The tapes that ive seen aren’t very heavy at all. Maybe that copper one is heavily? Currently i have some slingshot balls taped to the head but it looks really dumb. Trying to find something to add a lot of weight but also still look normal and do it for dirt cheap. Do you have any other suggestions?
Having old (i believe 2014) Nead Speed youtek S, lovely racket buy weights only 285 unstrung. So I add lead weights on 3 and 9 o'clock, totally 12g. I used golf club stickers-patches, each 1*4cm in demension and 3g of weight. To keep racket balance and make it slightly headlight I put a big 8cm nail under butt cap with extra 6gram of lead, fixing it inside so there ia no movement. Total strung weight is 349g now, I use ashaway crossfire zx string (hybrid of kevlar and soft poly). Racket is very stable now, still can whip it quite fast cause it's kind of babolat PA headlight. Feel improvement on serve and groundstrokes, though little bit slow on volley now. But overall very happy with this mod.
You mentioned in a previous video you added 5g to the handle of your Extreme Tours. I am curious if you added it inside the buttcap or at the top of the handle? I just picked up a pair of ET’s and both are under spec. Tried them stock and they lack stability and plow, so just starting to tinker with some customization.
I added about 26 gms to the head. Bring my r from 300 to about 326. Plus and overgrip plus strings. So maybe another 6gm. So say about 332 total. Is that too much or too little?
i have golfers elbow if i wanted to customise my racket and add lead tape to increase weight where should i put the weight? should i make my racket more head light? many thanks Connor
I do like the idea of the different weighted butt-caps. Surprised no independent maker has come out with those, I guess because you can't copy the logos. Even if the handle is filled, I find I can get up to 10g extra weight in the cap area by wrapping a 1p coin (4g) in blu-tac. So I guess if a solid metal was used you could get any range of weights, realistically up to 20g might be useful. On the hoop, I like the Kimony x-shape pieces, which is lead but covered in plastic, in 6 x 3g packets.
Hi there Jonas, Do the MSV QP Tennis Modules work as dumpeners as well, or similar to them? I prefer playing without a dampener to hear the sound and get as much feedback from the stringbed as possible. A dampener would mute the whole feeling for me. I see they way they can be applied they don't "catch" both mains and crosses, but I'm a little concerned about dumpening. I wont to add some weight on my Diadem Elevate, but don't wont to use lead.
@@Tennisnerd forgot to mention that there may be some difficulties to install it from 10-11 and 1-2 o''clock. I will have to be sideways, but it can only clip parallel to 2 consecutive strings. Either way, leaving the propable dumpening effect, they are an environmental friendly solution and they are reusable. It's good concept that need experimentation.
Hello, do you think if I put only 3 grams of lead tape at 12 that I should counterbalance that with a few grams on the handle too? Or do you think that an overgrip is enough to counterbalance the wheight ? Btw I use the head extreme tour .. thx for all the vids with very good content .🎾💪🏼
True, my overgrip weighs 4g but I still counterbalance in the handle. The over grip distributes the weight across the handle. A string dampener also adds 2g to the head.
@@rishijai 2g string dampener not effect to the balance if you put in below the last Cross string ( 6 o clock ). Bcos that position normally under and near the balance line for any racquets.
Adding 1-3 grams of tungsten tape at 12". This setup will increase plow and stability a bit for any racquet in my opinion. Not always the solution as it will increase the balance towards the head and make the racquet less maneuverable. If your racquet is too light and you overswing this can be a positive.

Thanks for the update on the QP Power Weight Modules. Sounds a bit annoying with the wind resistance and sliding.

@@Tennisnerd more power as well as making it more heavier as i heard lighter rackets contribute more to golfers elbow etc
I added some weight under my basic grip. Not sure what Wilson was thinking when making the naked handle that slippery, nothing really sticks to it.

Add a coin fix it with double sided tape to the bottom of the handle that works for me.
