  • Speaker: Kevin Knuth, Ph.D.
The STEAM Speaker Series at Delaware County Community College is proud the present Dr. Kevin Knuth on the topic “UAP: A Scientific Interpretation”, February 20-28.
Dr. Kevin Knuth is an Associate Professor of Physics at University at Albany with over two decades of experience in machine learning algorithms for Astrophysics, Bayesian Probability Theory, Information Theory, Robotics, Signal Processing, Neuroscience, Nonlinear Dynamics, Quantum Mechanics, and many other areas. He’s also the editor of the peer-review open-access journal “Entropy”, as well as being a member of the Scientific Coalition for Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) Studies.
He recently published a scientific report, “Estimating Flight Characteristics of Anomalous Unidentified Aerial Vehicles”. In his paper, he described UAPs as reportedly being “structured craft that exhibit ‘impossible flight characteristics’. He explored the “5 observables of UAPs“, which are positive lift, Sudden Acceleration, Hypersonic Velocity without Signatures, Trans-Medium Travel, and Low Observability. His team performed analysis on the 2004 Nimitz Tic Tac encounters, and describe these craft as having “Estimated accelerations range from almost 100 g to 1000s of gs with no observed air disturbance, no sonic booms, and no evidence of excessive heat,” and, ”observed flight characteristics of these craft are consistent with the flight characteristics required for interstellar travel.”

I can’t believe that you got Dr Knuth personally to explain the basics. The audience needs to know, he is one of the world’s outstanding, leading scientists studying the phenomenon. There are several interviews with him online. He comes across as such a likable, down to earth person able to explain the concepts in a way understandable to everyone. Can you imagine having him as a professor in college ? This must be such a pleasure.

Professor Knuth has been doing this a long time and is just one of the legendary physics teachers at UAlbany. Super glad to see the professional community taking this stuff seriously. We really need to be giving professor Knuth a lot of credit for sticking his head out there regarding UAPs and risking his long career to push forward further research in the area. Very little debate can be presernted when you have a strong physics explanation for things compared to people of the past who are often times astronomers.

Sailing out of Dana Point Harbor around 1991 n a very calm day bright sunny day. We saw an object under the boat. Our sails were down and we were going to do some fishing. I was looking very the side and saw it pretty far down. It slowly rose to the surface it was a silver white color. It was longer than our 25’ sailboat. And it slightly broke the surface about 10 feet away.
It sat for about 40 seconds and sank away really fast. It was not a whale, I’ve seen hundreds of whales. We thought it was some sort of submarine. But it was totally smooth. It seemed to be shaped like an elongated lens. It was actually pretty terrifying because it was so big and not anything the we recognized. They guy I was sailing with had been in the Royal Netherlands Navy with lots of time at sea. He was pretty confused.

Maybe, I like these hypotheticals. There are other potential explanations though. Obviously a catastrophic failure seems very unlikely, but it might happen. Maybe there are many thousand out there every day and one crashes very seldomly. Alternatively you could imagine an act of sabotage from one rogue member of the crew, or even multiple groups of ETs sabotaging each others experiments. Maybe the pilot of crashed ships slept with another alien's husband, lover's quarrel.
You're talking about the motivations of aliens, there's no way to get such a simple cut and dry answer, if these are intelligently designed craft we're going to need a lot more information before we can speculate about motivations. We're going to need to know what they are and what they are doing before we can figure out why.

And even if this hypothetical and possibly impossible infallible for all of time technology exists, a fallible biological creature operating can make mistakes, have a heart attack (or something similar in it's own biology) slip on something or simply get distracted. A point re UAP invasion of national sovereignty - historically sovereignty is based on a nation's ability to enforce it. Historically, it has very much based the level of a nation's technology - eg the 3 mile limit of national sovereignty over oceans was because 3 miles was the practical limit of coastal cannons - nations could not practically enforce sovereignty beyond that. As military defensive capability improved, national sovereignty over the seas was extended to 12, then 200 miles.
Sovereignty over land was extended in a similar manner. The United States sovereignty over it's land is based, originally, on European sovereignty which was claimed over North American land. This sovereignty was based upon the European ability to enforce it with the technology it had. This technology was initially based on tech that the native Americans did not have - ie steel and gun powder. That and European diseases ended native american's ability to defend their lands.
Today we are faced with a situation where the difference between our culture and an "other" culture's technology is clearly much greater than the difference between eg the Spanish Conquistadors and Moctezuma's society. If we cannot enforce national sovereignty over air space against these UAP's, then, by our own society's rules expressed over many centuries, that sovereignty does not exist. It belongs to who can claim it, and in the case of these UAP's, the skies belong to them.
I think, given the difference in apparent tech, and given that UAP's do not show aggression, would be a bad idea to behave aggressively towards them, since if our belligerence annoyed them enough to respond to it, it would not end well for us. I think it is a much better idea to simply analyze them as best as we can, and attempt to open a channel of communication with them.
For all we know they have been here a very long time. They may have been here before modern humans evolved. They may feel they have as great a right to exist on Earth as we do, and I doubt they believe human military organisations have a right to tell them where they can fly. This is a very interesting situation.

One kg of matter contains 9 x 10¹⁶ joules of energy. That's an experimentally proven fact based on Einstein's E = mc².
Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the Universe and it's the best suited for nuclear fusion.
Any technology that's able to harness and bring to use such a huge amount of energy in a relatively small craft has quasi unlimited possibilities for propulsion systems.

It really scares me when a physicist says he cannot understand how a craft like a UAP can withstand the force of 1700 g's. Whether or not you believe Bob Lazar's account, you should listen to his explanation as to how these craft function. Forget the controversy of the man, and listen to his explanation as to how they perform. It's all there and even a physicist should understand!! The craft is in a gravitational distortion and within its own space/time, - and therefore completely isolated from ours. There' is no inertia involved while the craft is within this gravitational distortion. These craft use a field propulsion system, rather than an action/reaction system like a propeller driven aircraft, jet, or rocket. Instead of throwing something out the back to move forward, they use a gravitational field propulsion system, which isolates them from the effects of earth's gravity. Instead of being pushed forward, these craft are pulled forward by the gravitational field they produce out in front of them. Yes Prof, they do all use this same propulsion system.
The nuclear 'strong force' is simply another form of gravity that all UAPs take advantage of by first generating, and then amplifying a gravitational field by the use of a stable isotope of heavy element 115, whose gravitational field extends beyond the atom and therefore is accessible.. Just watch Bob Lazar's 'Excerpts from the Government Bible'.
He hasn't changed his story in thirty years. Even 'Tic Tac' pilot commander Fravor has met with Lazar and had dinner together, along with their wives. Don't discount the obvious. Take some time before you shoot down the answers you've been looking for. (an isotope of element 115 is necessary and can by thought of as the fuel that makes this possible) He's been raided twice now by an alphabet soup of agencies who are looking for the element 115 he's thought to have stolen some 30 years ago. No arrests, but they sure looked through everything in his home and business. Even the claim they were looking for a customer invoice involving the murder of a Michigan citizen doesn't warrant the abc of Federal agencies conducting the raid.

@pUrP!€ @nArX!$t You've been on UA-cam for less than a week and already solved the unified field theory. Purple Muppets means I'm talking to a child. You can't prove a lot of things by sight alone muppet. There are far more senses we can rely upon. Sensors have become so sophisticated we can detect an object the size of a baseball in low earth orbit. We can tell you its trajectory and velocity without seeing it with the naked eye.
