Hi Eric, My D700 is showing an r24 . I am using the AF NIKKOR 50mm 1:1.8 lense. I reformatted my card and it still is showing. Any suggestions?
I am having issues formatting my CD card. I keep getting the FOR icon on the top screen. I format the card multiple times but it won't Format.
Hey so I use a nikon d3400 and I took a bunch of photos on vacation. But when I got home all of my pictures from the trip say cannot display this file. Is there a way to fix it and get my photos back?
Happy holidays Eric. On a few occasions, my D7000 gave me a plain ERR message, yes I freaked out at first. What I usually do is take off the lens and shoot a few frames, take out the battery for a few secs after. I suspected the issue was with the Vello Grip. I stopped using the grip and haven't seen the error since. I am not bad mouthing Vello as I own a few Vello equipment. My grip was a couple yrs old and I guess it's seen its days.

ahh well thats the issue. Thats why third party grips arent worth it majority of the time.
So I have a Nikon D90 and the screen when I try to go to the menu or video mode, just shows black and white stripes. They're horizontal and somewhat looks like it got hit by something. I have never dropped this camera either. Is this a common issue with this model or something I can fix at home?
Any advice on ERR message? I have a D3, I saw a couple other videos that said to change the clock battery, which I did but that didn't work. Any ideas? Oh! Also I only shoot in manual mode. The command dial is not responding to change the shutter speed. I changed it to the other modes and the command dial works. Not sure where to go from here.
here's one for you: D90 flash is popped up, when button half depressed camera uses focus assistant light, lens focuses, beep when in focus but pressing shutter release button all the way-nothing happens. when flash closed-camera takes pictures. During the problem-on the top display, rectangle around flash symbol is blinking. Any idea ?
Hi Eric, Back here again with a small issue with my D50. It won''t play back images. I get an error message "Cannot Use Zoom with this Photo" + text with detailed info of said photo superimposed over the image. Granted, I have not been using the camera as much as I should with pandemic - lost creative motivation... Perhaps I just need a refresher tutorial on how to use playback of images. Can you help me please? Thanks!

Have been having the following problem with a D810,in af single shot not servo.not m.exposures and not self timer the camera will focus but will not take.The problem is very intermittent.Have heard on the forums others have had this problem as well.
Hey Eric. I get an r99 error only when using my 18-200M nikon lens. It will take pictures, then would stop and show r99. Turning the power off and on resolves it for a little bit, but it comes back again. What is the cause for r99?

I had a "motherboard" issue so I replaced it. Now the top LCD only gives me the battery status and ALWAYS (camera switched on or off) in small capitals "CLOCK". Any idea what could be the cause of this??? It is a D7000
never heard of these issues, thats beyond errors. I would try setting your camera to default factory settings in the menu. If anything I would reach out to Nikon or whoever replaced your motherboard and ask whats up.
Couldn't understand how you told to fix the 2nd one, the triangle coming alongside the "F" I am facing that issue, please tell me how to fix it!! Please!
After changing some settings while trying to learn manual, my command dial has stopped working in any mode. I have a Nikon d3200. I have had the camera years. It is like brand new and has hardly been used and kept very safe in a padded camera bag.
Eric, Maybe you can help or point me in the right direction? Recently bought a used almost like new looking D2x with a bent memory card reader pin right in the center of the cluster. I pulled both batteries and after getting the pin straight was able to insert card. What i noticed is the green light that tells you card is being connected took a long time to go off, usually this only takes three to four seconds when thing are normal. Then i get a CHA and a blinking card Icon on the top LCD shutter will not fire, cleaned the lens contacts. The body will auto focus meter will work in all modes rear LCD works and am able to run through the menus. What i also did was try to format in camera it starts but just sits there and does no formatting tried three different cards, reset the camera. Tried reformat in computer (and they formatted) so i know it's not the cards they worked in my other D2x and D2h. I'm thinking the reader is shorted but i hope the actual board is not but can't get any info on how to verify this. As i am planning on replacing the reader as it was a cheap buy $40.00, but hate to find out the actual circuit board has issues as well. Hate seeing something sitting looking like a Sexy useless paper weight as these cameras are not extinct yet.. Thank you.
Yeah it sounds like there is one then more issues electronically. It's worth a shot repairing it since its cheaper but if anything worse, you'd be in the same spot regardless.
HI Eric ,do you have anything on how to fix this error for the Nikon d5300 for the following error. All these videos are for other cameras and not the D5300 error "Press shutter release button again" . I only see 4 screws but seems the cover may not come off? or is there more screws? also live view is not working. im suspecting both are related to the same thing.
hmm it sounds like you may have a shutter issue, is the mirror stuck up?
I am having problems with my image review/playback. It’ll take 10-15 seconds sometimes after I push the image review button for my images to actually appear on the screen. This is very frustrating while in a photo shoot while I’m trying to adjust lighting since it makes the subjects have to wait each time. I have scoured the internet and haven’t found anything that addresses this whatsoever. It doesn’t seem to change based on how charged the battery is either. Do you have any idea what the issue is or if there’s a way to reset the camera that could fix it? Thanks!
what camera and memory cards are you using? What class and speed does it say on the memory card?

I have an olddd D100 camera with the CHA message. When I first got it from my uncle it had a memory card in it and would take pictures. I haven’t used it for a few years and it has that message on it and it won’t take pics. I tried formatting one of the cards and it still wouldn’t take pics. I’m not sure if cards are still made for this camera since it was made in 2002.
Hello . I have Nikon 3400 camera and extern monitor connected to it . It was working until now . Today somehow the monitor is connected to the camera but if I try to record a video using the monitor it doesn’t record as before . It records a video if I don’t use the monitor. I don’t know why . +Mun-Keong Foong sounds weird but may be two things. You may not be pressing the shutter fully down at times, letting it autofocus first. Or you memory/SD card may be too slow.
Hi, I am seeing an error which says format sd card because of which I'm unable to view my photos , I'm not able to transfer them to my computer because i see the same error . I dont want to format the card . Any solutions?

Eric Rossi I have a d5600. It’s displaying cannot display on my camera when I take a picture and no picture taken is saving. Also it won’t enable Bluetooth when I try to click or a few others that are grayed out and it says not available with cameras current settings or in current state. Please help
If its not giving an error code I'm not sure. I would try a different memory card to see if it helps. If not, it may be worth sending in for Nikon to checkout.

Hey there Eric. My D300 is having an autofocus issue I think is connected to the buffer issue. When I press 1/2 way on the shutter button, I get r17. Is this something I can fix or do you recommend taking it in? And if I can fix it, how? Thanks!
sadly sounds like a bad issues, no real fix manually unless you take the camera apart lol

I have Nikon d5000 and getting the CHA error but there´s no memory card in. When put the card everything works fie but take off and get this CHA message.

I have a strange issue, my lens (Nikon 60mm F/2.8 AF-D micro) works perfectly when set to S (Single Shot) mode on all modes (PSAM) but when I changed the dial to something such as QC/Q/Self Timer, the lens won't get recognised and gives me a FEE error only on P and S modes. It's been driving me crazy, I'm starting to think it's a function rather than a bug because the lens works perfectly on Single Shot mode. Does anyone have any ideas?

Great Video, By any chance, do you know if there is a coin battery inside D80 that can be replaced? my uncle gets an ERR message with a flashing clock. Its battery is in good condition. I've tried reset menu and reflash the firmware but no luck. The battery has fully charged and kept in the camera for a few days.

Is there a way to keep your lens at the LOWEST aperture while still being able to take pictures without the FEE error? Also, does this issue still occur when in movie mode? Planning on buying a Nikon D5300 to shoot video and was wondering if the FEE error is still an issue?
No if you are using an older lens with the aperture ring you have to keep it at the highest stop. But it doesn't matter you control the aperture through the camera so nothing to worry about. Also since you say you are getting a d5000 line camera, that does not have an autofocus motor. So make sure you get a lens with one if you need autofocus

Hey Eric I have a Nikon d3200 I use a 128gb SD card the error I'm getting is after clicking the photo if I go to see the pictures it says cannot display this file. I'm not able to open them on PC too. All the images thubnails in the gallery are black with a red Cross line please help me
have you tried this sd card with other cameras, does it work? do you have another sd card you can try? Idk if 128gb card is compatible, what kind of card is it? Is it an SDXC card?
Hey Eric!!! I have a question for you in regards to my DSLR camera and lens issues. I'm a relative beginner with a little hobby for taking pictures so I apologise if my questions sounds relatively dumb or stupid. So I was hoping if you could clarify it for me. Right I own a Nikon d7200 for over a year now. And I've been purchasing second hand lenses to try out different things. Now, I was really interested in Astro photography so I did my research and considering I'm on a budget from my part time job i bought a Samyang 16mm F2 lens. Now the issue I'm having with this lens is the first error code you covered in this video. The fEE error. Now your 100% right about the fact that if you switch it to maximum aperture the lens works. However this is my questions. What if I want the lower aperture?? Now this maybe a silly question and I did my research online and people said that you can manually adjust the aperture from the camera whilst leaving the lens at f22. Okay but what i wanted to know is how is that even possible to adjust the aperture from the camera. When you physically turn the aperture ring to a lower F number you can see the blades open so as to allow more light to enter. But the blades don't adjust when you manually change the aperture from the camera dial do they? Or am I wrong? I do adjust it and listen for a noise but I can't hear anything. I'm not even sure if I've explained this correctly so if I haven't let me know and I will explain. Sorry about this. Any input will be appreciated. Thank you very much Eric
Not a dumb question at all, very common! So you control the aperture through your camera like normal. Once you set the aperture ring on these types of lesnes, set it and forget it. Never touch it again!

Hi Eric! This video solved my dilemma which was why my D50’s shutter release was not working. You said to set the aperture to the highest aperture. I did and it worked but only at f22. I’m sure I was able to use the aperture ring to select other f-stops. Can you explain? Or do I need to get the camera to a technician? Thanks so much. what lens are you using?
Eric Rossi Hi! It doesn’t seem to matter. A Tamron AF and a Nikon AF. It stopped working after I switched out the Tamron for the Nikon. I’ve cleaned all the contacts as you suggested but still will only work on F22.
@@magicnutcracker I was told that too. Only use f16 or f22 on my old Nikon when using the older model lens.

sounds like theres either wear in the battery terminal or just some wiring issues. Nothing much else besides getting Nikon or a repair shop to check it out unfortunately
Hi Eric... I have Nikon D90. Everything is working fine i can take pics but it's not allowing me to record a video showing Disabled rec icon. I am trying to figure it out from a long time. Please tell me what could be an issue.
I would try resetting your camera settings back to default. Or check to make sure your sd card isnt locked. If this fails, and theres no error code, you may need to just reach out to Nikon customer service.

I had the Err- problem yesterday on my d7000. Mirror locked up and finally worked for a minute and then locked and wouldn’t move at all. I have all new stuff and didn’t,know,what to do. Cleaned the lens contacts and all that but didn’t change a thing. What I did to finally fix it was to take the lens off, took my thumb and lifted the mirror to see if anything was bent or stuck. I finally figured that I will clean the hinges on the mirror. Got a cue tip and some alcohol lifted the mirror and dabbed the hinges and area around the edges of the mirror. Also did the contacts on the lens and camera body. Blew a little air in it and --good to go. I was just dirty.

I have a D7100 and the memory card light flashes continuously when the camera is shut down. works fine when powered on .. have tried reformatting but no fix. any ideas? only 2000 shutter count.

your sd card may be locked, with the switch on the side, or that you may need a better/faster card.
My Nikon d80 has a problem: I insert a proper SD card that works but my camera doesn't record the images to the card. When I shoot, it says "Folder contains no images" but when I check the menu, it doesn't say anything about a folder.
The command dial on my Nikon d5200 has stopped working and I am forced to shoot in the Auto mode. I have upgraded the firmware to the latest version and the it does not solve the problem. Is there anything I can do to fix the problem? The camera is out of warranty.
seems like its a camera issue at that point if its physically stuck. I would send it to Nikon to check out, not much you can do.
My 18-55mm kit lens on my Nikon D3400 will no longer auto focus nor will it respond to its focus ring. When I put it on my camera, it takes the body a second to recognize that's it's there. Do you have any idea how I could fix this or what's going on?
you could try using a q tip on the electronic contacts on the back of the lens to see if its dirty. If the contacts arent clean things like that could happen.
Hi Eric really great video, could you do one on Nikon d7100. I keep getting message err on top display but it still takes pictures in single shot only . It won't let me use continuous shooting mode as takes one shot and shuts very slowly . please can you help thanks adam
this is for all Nikon cameras, the ERR messages are universal. Which err number are you getting

My nikon D750 has an error on SLOT 1 to where it doesn't read any card that I insert. Repair costs $250.00, is there anything that know of that I can do to repair this issue? All of the cards work in SLOT 2.
nah, if theres an issue with the slot theres an issue. The only thing is there could be dust or something in there, you could try a quick burst of compressed air
How bout if everytime i turn on my camera and it goes to Live view and im unable to disbable it. Also the focus point doesn't move.

Hi, I have nikon d750 and there is an error with the shutter release or focusing because it just stoped focusing and when I pushed the shutter release button, nothing was happening and after 4seconds it release like 10 frames without me even pushing the button. And today it kind of froze when i tried to focus with live view, the focus dot suddenly was in the upper side of the frame, where I didn't put it, and again the release button didn't work. Then i took out the battery and then it was fine again. Any suggestions what could it be?
Sounds like some electronic issues, is it still under warranty?

Eric Rossi mine shows r18 error message on auto mode, when I manipulate aperture ring, it fires. It look like focus error on auto mode

HI Eric! Cleaned my memory card and now there is an error saying to format the card however I use the D5600 touch screen and it won't let me go to the menu because of the error? The error wont let me access anything and I can fix or format the memory card if I cant get to the menu settings. Any advice?
So an error screen is stuck permanently? Can you use the Dpad to navigate?

Im getting a Err thats flashing, its flashing simultaneously with my low battery icon on my Nikon D100. Could that be why my camera is not taking photos, and has a weird behaving shutter? Also my CF card I just bought is stuck in there, won't com out.
Also when I plug my usb chord into my computer, it says there aren't any photos on my d100..
its an old camera so could be the camera.

You may need to try a new battery, but if it powers on try reseting your camera back to factory settings
looking at a camera, it has auto exposure error, contact authorized Nikon service representative. im thinking i should leave this camera alone. any ideas ??

The camera could simply be dead or the batteries, even though "full" could not be good anymore. I'd try a new battery or the log in adapter and see if that helps. But if not, it could be a camera thing sadly

I think thats a shutter error, it may not be worth sending it to Nikon as it may cost more then just upgrading to a newer camera

i would think its more of a serious error at that point. The only thing you could try is a new battery but thats def a deeper issue
