im just a great fan of stratovarius that only wants to share my likes!! i knwo that perhaps this songs that arent so good wont have too much views, but i dont care anyway, thanks for comenting
What kind of attitude? ALS? Paralysis? Tolkki's career started years before Becker and is inspired by Blackmore and Malmsteen both inspired by classical music themselves. So no, it's not about Becker at all, it's about Neoclassical Metal and Malmsteen; Becker was one among a lot of player inspired by someone else, and his career was so short it' almost non-existent. On the other hand Stratovarius was and is one of Power Metal founders, way better than Cacophony and solo project from a paralyzed guy.
@@francescopanciroli1382 Damn, u just roasted a paralyzed legendary guitar player! Do u feel good now? There's no denying Becker is a killer guitarist! Everyone can argue who is the best and who they prefer most, but although I prefer Tolkki (because of songwriting skills) Becker is technically a better guitar player. And Timo is actually only 3 years older than Becker and started to play guitar only 1 year earlier! Although Becker started to play when he was 5, Timo when he was 7. And Becker released his 1st album in 1987, Tolkki in 1989, so I dunno about "Tolkki starting his career years before Becker"... Also Becker's career has not ended. He just released a new album few years ago. And I just listened to Altitudes. It is indeed similar (at least in the beginning parts), but it's not a copy. Tolkki might have just drawn influence from that. I suggest YOU listen to it too! It's a killer song from a "paralyzed guy"! (He was still at full health at the time!) The skill level on that is much higher than on this song!
@@MaximusAdonicus I know Becker very well and I know his solo material and material with Cacophony as well. First of all, Speed Metal Symphony was entirely written by Friedman with minor arrangements by Becker. Second, his career ended almost immediately, after the two records with Cacophony, and it's completely irrelevant, music-wise. Third, Becker's inspiration was Malmsteen and I believe he couldn't play like Malmsteen at all, he was an average clone of him. Timo Tolkki's first known album was "Future Shock" single in 1987 then "Fright Night" in '88 and full length in '89. But Tolkki joined Stratovarius in '84 and he was already playing with other finnish bands before (Antidote and Road Block). His style was similar to Becker because they're both inspired by Malmsteen and "classical" music (Bach, for example, is a big influence for both) but that's it (and early Stratovarius was very different and much more prog oriented). I don't think Tolkki was influenced by Becker at all, he was no one in Europe during late '80s and early '90s and, tbh, Becker skills in songwriting sucks, his solo albums sucks and they're not original at all (and he didn't played, only composed). Tolkki was a better composer and he managed to change Power Metal genre with 5 albums in 5 years (Dreamspace, Fourth Dimension, Episode, Visions and Destiny) rising the level every time. He wasn't a technical player at all, most of the times he played sloppy shows completely drunk and numb but, once again, Becker's skills are not that distant (and 2000 up to 2003 was the best for Stratovarius and Tolkki as well). The only thing that matters is the illness: a dead or incapacitated musician will be idolized more. Cliff Burton is a perfect example, he wasn't that good at bass and he was a sort of pro-amateur at best but, for fanboys, he became the best bassist in the world. That's it. And Becker's the same. There are tons of better player and better composer and Tolkki was one of those until 2004, then shit happened and he became a joke. But, I repeat myself, Tolkki wasn't inspired by Becker at all since Becker was almost no one in Europe and he gained fame during late '90s because of his illness. So I don't care about a disabled musician with a short career and I don't care if I'm making fun out of his condition. And I doubt he cares at all. Tolkki's changed and created a genre, Becker is idolized by a bunch of slow-guys because of a couple of shredding videos.
