Good guide all in all but I'd put prims as the absolute last upgrade it's such a negligible difference from d boots for such an astronomical price difference
The "two hours at most," for BA is a definite understatement. I would say I'm slightly above average (it was legit my favorite minigame in rs2 and I'd go out of my way to play it just to help people, not nearly as skilled as the BA boosting clans) and outside of one really good team experience, I want to say it took me about 3-5 hours total. Probably safe to say it'd be 5-6 if you don't get any good teams.
@@David-bh1rn maybe this is just flawed hindsight on my part but I feel like in RS3 the teams would go all the way or not at all. But in OSRS, I feel like it's been more common to have teams that ditch part-way through.
@@GamingDualities obsidian platebody is -1 strength compared to torso but it's better if you have the full set + obby dagger and zerker neck unless you afford rapier
I like getting bcp and tassets early if I'm gonna tank bosses it's easier with the Def bonus than the +1str from prims but I got my bcp for 15m so I mean I guess if they're the same price it's playstyle based whether Def or +1 str is more important
At 4:00 you show verac skirt(227k), but your graphic shows 60 def. I would have suggested obby legs (542k) sooner as the str bonus would also benefit the rest of your melee training.
It's wild that I am in the same (physical) location as you when you started the video. I had just came out of wyverns in void and was like "There's gotta be something better than void, dragon, or guthans right...?"
I just watched your other two gear videos. Im at that point of cleaning bank and upgrading. The universe couldn’t have timed this better. Thanks bubba!
The only major things I would change is leaving the avernic until way later as it's a permanent upgrade and buying the new rings before torva. Torva helm alone is roughly the same price as the ultor and bellator rings atm and you would get a higher dps increase out of wearing one of those 2 rings than you would a torva helm. The reason for getting the avernic way later is that your money would be better invested into powerful spec weapons such as claws, voidwaker, godswords, dwh etc. or niche use gear like the dhl which can be bought & sold as required for the content they are doing at that time rather than a +2 str bonus upgrade. I know this guide is focusing purely on melee but anyone with the bank the gp to invest into their melee setup at the point you suggest to purchase an avernic would be significantly better off putting that money into range or mage instead as buying an avernic at that point would severely cripple their bank value. Imo an avernic at its current price should only be purchased once you're in the range of getting torva due to it being a complete gp sink. Also a sidenote, ferocious gloves require 80 def to wear :) Otherwise great vid!
patyfatycake will you be making a new gear progression guide for the new updates (Rebalance/Varlamore) this year? The fact your guide gives GE prices is a massive help for me, as I already have some items, I can judge how much more I need based on the total cost minus items I have, and sell non-essential gear, so thank you
Eventually yea, I want to space them out a bit before coming out with a new one. this wasn't even a year ago yet, I know a lot has changed, but I'm working on some other projects that are taking priority
Can you do analysis on the new rings, soulreaper, and virtus now that they’re actually out? Where are they BIS, how much of a dps increase they are, etc ty
Hey man I know this is an older video, but I was wondering if the Ardy easy diary was worth it for the +slash cape and teleport to that side of the mountain? Just curious haha
I'm pretty new to membership but I've wearing full saradomin armor for the prayer boost and granite gloves and boots. Combat bracelet and granite gloves have pretty similar stats any tips on which ones better for now until I get high enough to get better gloves
Congrats on staying away. And yea so much has changed, this is just the stuff that is super relevant, it would be a 50 minute video if I touched everything
I disagree with the Primordial boots they should be your last upgrade. Bandos tassets is a better upgrade followed by serp helm until you can afford facegaurd The primordial boots will most likely not even increase your max hit in most cases. It's way too expensive for the price tag
glaring change- tent whip for bosses only and only until you get fang, and fang is all you need in life, scythe has uses but fang is good enough that scythe isnt exactly urgent, also dwh is useless imo except for corp otherwise bgs to voidwaker yes claws have uses but consistent damage is the best damage, and voidwaker doubles as a whip for any plebs out there who think a whip is better than a fang anywhere for anything
Glaring cheese cape take- Scythe is bis on anything that doesn't have high defense and with a warhammer spec it's bis in even more places, expensive to run so not always worth using but still bis. Warhammer is basically mandatory for efficient cox/tob on top of anywhere crush is better than slash and claws are literally mandatory for cox speed times. Whip is better than fang for anything ~50 defense and lower(90% of slayer monsters) and by the time you'd have vw you could afford a rapier which would be even better auto attack wise
first whip, first place you went? straight to castle wars... this dude is a g

Pretty good guide, i'd personally swap the order of primordial to Faceguard -> Tassets -> Primordial
fair enough, flame me but i personally got bcp before prims and faceguard >:] but prims and faceguard also didnt exist yet
Depends, it isn’t necessary if you’re primarily training combats through slayer

I used this video more than any other OSRS video on YT!
Took my whip straight to CW too, camping top floor alchcing stuff. I alched my whip trying to equip it and then quit the game for like a year.
theres always been a warning for alching things of high value... ill take shit thats never happened for 100
Just so you know, video title currently says “mele “ instead of “melee”
Thank you
@@patyfatycake_OSRS it still says it. Love the vid though
Lmao
It says it in the video too😜 it wasnt a mistake❤ love it still
What do you expect from someone who says skimitar
You're lowkey insane for suggestion Dragon Claws, Dragon Mace, Godsword, Avernic and a Infernal Cape over Bandos Chestplate.

I dread ever trying to get an inferno cape. The fire cape was pretty hard but manageable, the inferno looks down right impossible.
overall, which combat style is most important to prioritize for a mainly solo player?
Love you pfc. Def dont have the bank for anything past bandos atm lol
Love the content, Paty! Do you still think the Fang is worth buying so early now that it's been nerfed?
It's still great where it's great. Just not good at vard or duke anymore
Hey man I know this is an older video, but I was wondering if the Ardy easy diary was worth it for the +slash cape and teleport to that side of the mountain? Just curious haha
Yea, definately do all of your diaries
BANGER
From a slayer setup perspective should I just have a rapier assuming I can only afford either the fang OR rapier, not both?
if You're just clearing low def mobs yea. If you do some boss tasks, fang and a whip works
Fang + Tentacle will give you better coverage than a rapier
I have an inferno cape and I'm still watching this 😂
id rather be physically assaulted IRL then farm a fighter torso
I'm pretty new to membership but I've wearing full saradomin armor for the prayer boost and granite gloves and boots.

I would start doing the quests and get barrows gloves ASAP
I don’t see someone doing mm as there first upgrade for dskim maybe lost city and get dragon longsword
Soulreaper axe is BIS for most slayer monsters.
Obsidian platechest is +3 str and u can skip torso Barbarian asssult +4 str
Weak
Great, so I’m basically not even mid-game yet 😂
Also veracs skirt is 70 def not 60

No mention of abysal dagger?
Soo there's nothing between rune and dragon scimitar? Im stuck with rune until 60 attack?
For the most part yea. Honestly it takes such a short amount of time to get to 60 attack it won't be that much of a problem
Verac skirt is not for 60 def but 70 ... jus so you know
Rapier and blade of saeldor are still BIS for regular def/low def monsters
inquis mace too, but... kinda pricey compared to the other two
Soulreaper axe + bellator ring for slayer is BIS on almost every task@@patyfatycake_OSRS
ferocious gloves at 60 def?
What about justicear if you gonna kill rune dragons, isn't that bis defense gear.

tassets and bcp are way before prims... other then that good guide
If only there were ranged and magic guides I could look at to progress towards the inferno

defender - drop a few food, afk
healer - use poison food on the baddies
collector - click egg
