I appreciate you pointing out that game devs aren't the ones choosing to make all these micro transactions. The sims team doesn't always understand what the community wants but they're just a group of creative people hired to work on a game. I'm sure if it were up to them, they'd be given the time and resources to fix a lot of the bugs and refresh old packs instead of pumping out tiny DLCs with no new gameplay. I've played the sims my whole life but I've only really been active in the online community since the sims 4. It's rightfully critical most of the time but sometimes the negativity is overblown and also very misplaced. It benefits EA to put their game devs on the front lines to field complaints about poor corporate decisions. It's important we voice our concerns in the right channels but we should also be aware that the people we're talking to aren't the ones making most of the decisions, good or bad.

    • @kapsican

couldn't agree more. game devs have such a hard job and all the criticism from the community always makes me feel so bad for them. the problem really are the decision makers, aka the sales and marketing department

I really appreciate your authentic commentary on your perception of the Sims community, especially in recent years. I've been playing since the beginning but only started consuming and creating content in the last few years, so I'm not as familiar with how things were pre-kits. But the way you've explained it does actually validate certain feelings I've had and vibes I've picked up on.

you could totally re-do magnolia promenade with a coffeeshop (downstairs), bookshop (upstairs) and a small bubble tea store next to it, and you can add the stage/microphone to the bookstore for poetry nights and the clothing racks in every space at the entry for the people to leave their jackets on and stuff; also, another lot could be a vet clinic + pet store + pharmacy; and the third lot could be a small little park as there aren't any in this world 🫶🏻

OK, I don’t usually comment on your videos, but I like watching them to relax at night and this was a really really fun one. I just got to the portion of the video where you’re talking talking about your back pain and I just wanted to give you some advice that if you haven’t gone recently, and if you still have your gallbladder, I would get that checked because I had a really bad back pain for two years and it turned out to be my gallbladder which needed to come out immediately.

As a big fan of the werewolf pack -- I'd love to see you do a converted warehouse apartment complex or a trailer park. in the large empty lot. An artist commune might fit that world with either of those.
Also having that much back pain isn't normal, even though we kind of normalize it. if you''re having low back pain specifically, you may have psoas tightness (which happens with prolonged sitting) -- laying on your back with your kneels and hips at 90 degrees, resting your feet on a chair or the couch is a great way to rest that muscle in a way that is opposite weight distribution.

13:01 For your back pain issues, I developed lower back pain during my previous desk job sitting 10h/day.
I started doing the cat to cow yoga pose for a few minutes everyday, in the morning and in the evening and it worked perfectly for me.
Other good ones are child's pose, downward dog, bird dog (weird names, but they work 😂).
Also getting up every hour for a little bit.
    Hope it helps! 😁

loving the build, it's super cute as always. some advice for back pain - depending on where it hurts, you can get support cushions for when you're sitting or sleeping. i definitely recommend maximizing your comfort, it can help so much more than you might expect. i use a big foam roller for my back as well, you might be able to find one at a wellness/pharmaceutical store, maybe target, definitely amazon. and if you want specific stretches i'd recommend looking up videos from physical therapists who specialize in the spine, or movement/flexibility experts, but tbh body maintenance can be as simple as standing up and trying to touch your toes; laying on your back and crossing your ankle over the opposite leg's knee; or getting on your knees and folding forward (often called child's pose in yoga). and this is so cliché i'm honestly sorry, but getting out and walking for like, half an hour, works to lessen my upper back strain when i've been desk-bound too long. really hope you can feel better ashley 🙏

Your builds are always so inspiring to me, also for back pain mady morrison got many great yoga and stretching videos that has helped me lots with my backpain, but also going to someone for massages regularly helps me lots, I do not do it often but just doing it every so often combined with stretching around 3 times a week atm has helped me so much. I feel like the vibe of the Sims has changed a lot, and I am not on board with it. I am glad you keep your channel creative because creativity is not seen as ‘profitable’ nowadays. As you said, all video games are changing and adapting to a new format. I don't blame game devs, but EA itself. Although they are only worrying about the bottom line, the lack of creativity and dedication leads to a fandom loss for several franchises. Sadly, companies seem not to mind alienating their fandoms as long as they make money. Some have said so. I think the Sims is a hard case because the game developers maintain a consistent community with the Sims. Despite their effort, the community has to use their space to vent their issues. It would be interesting if a former game developer could discuss their experience working with EA. The gaming community does not understand what is happening behind these companies.

12:50 You might need to think about a chiropractor or at least getting it investigated. You could have pulled a muscle or it’s out of alignment. That can happen. It happens to me. I used to go to the chiropractor every month but since moving we haven’t found one yet so my back has been in a lot of pain for about 7 months now. Trust me it’s worth looking into.

Dear Ashley, I know this video is kinda old by now, but I felt very sympathetic regarding your back pain, because I suffer from it too 😭 I think first and foremost you should see a doctor to know what exactly the problem is (for example, my mom feels back pain due to years of bad posture that brought her to be a little hunched; I feel back pain due to a birth defect; dad feels back pain because he's getting old lol)
Secondly, the best solution I've been given throughout the years is exercise. Sometimes the back just needs stronger muscles (not just on the back itself, but also the core of the body) to actually be able to sustain the weight of the body. You may need to do specific exercises to strengthen the back, but only a doctor or a personal trainer should suggest you those. Good luck!

Wow! This is an amazing building! Well done! I don't own the For Rent EP, but if I did, I would definitely want this in my game.

I feel like using My first pet stuff is fine since they've made it free in the past so more people have it 😊

I commented this on the last apartment video but I think a summer camp in chest nut ridge would look so cool like a horse themed summer camp or something along those lines

I have back issues myself and the thing that helped me the most and had the longest effects was acupuncture. I didn't believe in acupuncture as an effective treatment for anything at all but I was wrong. I still have back pain but I went from a daily pain level of 8-9 to a daily pain level of 2-3.

The only thing that helped my back pain was exercise! Sorry lol. I used to do the Walk At Home workouts and they really helped to strengthen my core. I’m so sorry you’re suffering, back pain is just awful. I suffered for years.

    concerning your backpain:
i had severe scoliosis before getting a corrective surgery. i had severe pain and my back was deformed. go to the doctors as soon as u can. tell them you do stretches and you take breaks from sitting. ask for x rays if they dont suggest them. if they refuse, ask them to note that they refused xrays and tell the nurse to make a note too. go to a chiropractor if your doctor will not help you otherwise (chiros have very mixed results). try to see a pain management doc on ur own if ur primary is ignoring your needs and wont make any refferals. if u dont have insurance, i would suggest substances such as w33d or using IcyHot + heating pad religiously. indica helps increase the effects of cbd which is why i suggest that. ive had chronic pain since i was 10 and im turning 22 soon. if you need advice about how to navigate this stuff i am an open book and am happy to help.

I love this!! I have been playing the sims since Sims 1 when I was in sixth grade. I have noticed recently there are so many new packs and I felt like I was spending too much money on the game even with mainly buying kits. I wonder if they are trying to pay for all the work on Sims 5 but they could have more sales on expensive expansion packs then on kits. For now I’m saving money but I still love the game!
