I've been a Swhacker user for about 8 years now. I started using them when I was still able to shoot a compound bow. I now shoot a crossbow due to shoulder issues. I've bow hunted for almost 50 years now and have shot about every kind of broadhead on the market. These are the most reliable mechanical head in my opinion. They have 1 pivot point that makes them open versus something like a Rage that has to pivot but also slide in a slot to open. The cutting edge of the blades, that cause the internal damage are protected until they are inside the animal, not getting nicked, dulled or bent going in through a rib cage. I have one head that i have shot 3 deer with and all I've done is take the blades out, clean the slot and sharpen the blades. The blades can be easily replaced if needed or removed for sharpening with the removal of 1 screw. When they say it shoots like a field point, they do! I do not have to adjust my scope to shoot these. I've never had a deer go more than about 40yds after putting one of these through the lungs or heart. But any head should do that. (As long as they open properly!) This is just an old guy's 2 cents worth, take it or leave it. I like the phrase KISS, keep it simple stupid.
Not sure I am as old as you? But I switched for similar reasons, and my kids getting me back into it. Because they got me my first crossbow. Extremely thankful. Totally enjoy everything about bow season. Enjoy gun season too! But Bow holds a special place in my soul. Glad you're still out there winging it. Best to you😊
You got this absolutely correct. I have been using the 2" 100-grain Swhacker for a couple of seasons. I was going to try to switch to Rage Hypodermic and I discovered that one of them would not stay shut even with a new collar. I went back to the Swhacker and promptly took down a seven-point buck. Now the only decision I have left is to stay with the 2" or go to 3". Keep up the great work, Rich.
I've used the swhacker 100 grain 2" for around 6 years now and I love them never had one not open and 9 times out of 10 I get to see them go down they don't stay of there feet for long

Thanks Rich! After watching your channel I’m going to try these broad heads out of my crossbow this year! The job it did on the buck your daughter shot was unbelievable!!! Keep up the great work buddy!!! 👍🏻
I remember when they were called Sonoran broadheads I have been a compound bow shooter my entire life and just bought my first crossbow to try a new avenue of hunting. I am amazed at all the info you divulge in your videos!!! Never understood why traditional and compound bow hunters give cross bow hunters a hard time? To me hunting is hunting! Subscribed for sure!!
Rich, finally a no nonsense review on shwacker crossbow broad head, I love this youtube channel. The honest nonselling attitude is a great thing. PLUS reliable in the field testing while hunting vids. Ive been a schwack attack dude for a long time. Keep up the awesome job, keep the vudz coming. I hope to meet yall someday in person. Geneive, your Awesome as well!! Great shot placement, wicked accurate!! Now becoming a schwack-attack queen. I look everyday to see what vid is coming up. Simply love you guys. Thank you for all your doing.
I was giving you crap about the pigs. But I have made recent decisions about getting into crossbows based off of your coherent, reasoned arguments. Not because you “use” the items you advocate. But because you give clear representations and examples. And I, having a mechanical interest and background, truly appreciate your information.
I fell in love with Swhackers when they first came out, and I still have several in different grains. That said, with as powerful as bows and crossbows are now, a rear deploying broadhead isn't bad. I've been using Sevrs for the past 2 years and love them as well.
A couple of weeks ago I bought my first crossbow. A recent minor surgery meant I should not be drawing my compound. The salesclerk (he knew less than me, which isn't much) showed me where the broadheads were hanging. I read all the packages. With no further guidance available to me, I chose the Shwuh Hackers (proper pronunciation) based SOLELY on the pretty packaging! Glad I did. You have left me feeling informed and confident with my gear. Great vdo. Keep em coming.
i believe in the Swhacker's... i watched a steel drum test and it went right through.. also seen a quartering to shot on a sheet of plywood and it also passed right through.. long live the SWHACKER..
Congratulations on all the success! Happy to see all the developments too. Bolt cutters and swhackers, older/slower/lighter and newer/faster/heavier...it's like I'm watching myself 10 years ago lol. All the best to everyone. Been a great season so far.
I agree that finding a hybrid that will cut at least a 1” cut even if it fails to open. The Muzzy Trocar HBX have two 1” fixed blades and two folding blades that cut 2 5/8” when opened. But if they fail to open there are the two fixed blades cutting.
Out of any mechanical Broadhead Swha- Hacker😂 is my favorite. Been using them for IDK 10 years now or close to it. Fly better than anything i have seen out there. Amazing blood trails that are easy to follow.
I was shooting a2 inch rage 2 blade but recently switched to a g5 megsmeat 3 blade 2 inch cut and they leave big wound channels. They cut on entry but also penetrate completely. One disadvantage to mechanicals are the blades are one shot and done and cannot be resharpened after smashing into the dirt, even replace my blades are pricy. Watched your Maryland videos and there’s no denying those 3 inch SPEAR exit holes are super impressive.
am considering these heads, dyed un the wool trad hunter, shot a recurve for over 47 years at deer, due to a recent torn rotator cuff i have to unstring my widow, but its sit out or buy a crossbow, i aint a quitter. bit the bullet and now own a 425 fps cross bow, looking to go with the 2 inch 125 gr, that will put me in the 430 gr total weight at 409 fps and 1 percent foc, i think it will get me a pass thru, thanks again for posting,
Great job Rich and you present a powerful case conselor, but I'm sure the jury is still out, because hunters are divided, and so this debate is likely to continue. And as far as Rich Wilson is concerned, the RAGE are no longer all the RAGE, it's been replace by the SWAHACKER! You're both having a great season, and I'm so envious, but next year we might switch bows and arrows too!
Awesome you said you came here to Maine for a bear hunt. Thanks for coming for the hunt and supporting our wildlife program. I’m happy you got a big ol’ bear.
One shot one kill. Harvested first deer with a crossbow. Center Point Sniper 370, stock 264 gn 20" Center Point bolt, Swhacker 100gn 2" cut. 40ish yards (it might have been a little longer as impact was a little low), Swhacker sliced right through heart 2.5" exit dropped 25 yards from impact.
I just picked up some swhacker broadheads but they were the black 150 grain 3” blades. Got a little worried because they weren’t crossbow specific but after attaching to my crossbow bolt the deployment blades will clear the arrow shaft. Also swhacker said they would work for crossbows and compound bows
Yes, they stopped making the crossbow specific ones because they were just a duplicate product. These are the exact same size. Just a different color. If you're worried about deployment, just use two hands, they give you plenty. LOL good luck!
Rich !!! I just love your wonderful blog and post content!! I love to the adventures that you and your wonderful daughter are having on hunting trips!! I am very amused with broad head debate!! So much fun!! However I am certain that if you put into your quiver two mechanical broads heads and two fixed blade broad heads and you placed four good shots on four different game animals, they all get killed rather quickly!!!!
Are they gonna hold up at 500 fps and not open? I’d like to see that tried and not only that but if you beef up the band to make it hold for sure in flight, will it then do it’s job on impact.
That's a really good question and I don't know the answer for sure. I know that around 400 ft per second, they work perfectly. They work really well out of my old slow crossbow too, around 260 ft per second. 500 ft per second? Whole different ball game perhaps. It will be interesting to see as people use them over the next few years.
@@Deathbybunjie, yeah, I’m not knocking the product by any means, I used to shoot them from my compound, they seem to be the most fail proof mechanical but I’m interested in the science just as you seem to be. I forget who did the study I’d have to find the link but with these speeds being achieved now it’s going to be a game changer for sure.
I have had a similar evolution. I have a micra 355 . Started with bolt cutters . Recovered all my deer but never had a great blood trail . Switched to the Ecat. Worked well but when it came time for new ones I tried the Trypan rage . Great blood trail and pass through . I shoot elevated from a tree stand about 30 yard average distance. Next season I may try these. Great video as always rich , thank you
Nice looking broadhead but I'm not sold on mechanicals. My 100 grain Muzzy goes in at 1" and comes out the other side at roughly 2". Total bolt weight is 350 grain, which is plenty umpf at 340fps.
Those look like good arteries cutters. Though I like 3 or 4 cutters. To nail the hose Burst I love to see hitting the neck root. This looks pretty durable and will fly pretty nice and the way it openes up can really distroy the arteries both sides. Oh i like these.
Interesting stuff as always. I ran into an issue with my rage on a doe I took on opening weekend, one side deployed and the other didn’t, really strange not sure what went on, it was a new one so it wasn’t gunked up or anything. Luckily my shot location was great and the deer went down but idk. It’s a very interesting looking broad head, that I might have look at in the off season
I completely agree with shooting a larger diameter mechanical broadhead. You should try the Grim Reaper Whitetail Specials. They are devastating! Keep up the great work! Always love your vids.
New comment. You got me hooked on the swaaaa-ackers. But I noticed when I opened up the pack, playing around a little bit, the band is kind of stuck to the shaft, if you will. I'll probably put new bands on. But I wonder if they broke down some, the rubber band itself, I mean, over time, being they were sitting in the pack for too long/or under too much heat, by sunlight or whatever. I wonder if that's why some people complain it didn't open? Just a thought. 🤷
I have just started hunting with a crossbow and man I am hooked I have hunted plenty with a gun but this is new and exciting I am going to look into the swhackers with that 3 inch cutting diameter good video good information thanks
tried these on your recomedation , swhacker #202 with a barnett xp400.I have used (sucsessfuly) Muzzys on my old XI compound bow for years , but old age will not let me use it for hunting humainy any more. But damm these are the real deal.I can't share the pic but I am impresed ! 45 yards ,got a passthru .deer didnt go 30 yards and I couldnt belive the exit hole!! Thanks!! Froksville,Pa
I've been shooting swa-hackers for many years now. 100gr 2" cut, out of a compound bow, just devastating with complete pass throughs on deer, love em! Great video, thanks.
The Muzzy One Broad head is a fixed three blade broad head that I paired with my GRZ2 EXCALIBUR CROSSBOW and I shot a Doe on September 21st and I must say it was double lung full pass through shot and my Deer died in Less than three and a half minutes!!!
Hi Rich, I just ordered some 3" Swhackers to try them with my CenterPoint 415 crossbow. I did see in the reviews them so people have had problems with them opening prematurely. Have you had any issues with them? I was thinking of adding two retention bands to solve the problem. I emailed Swhacker, but was looking for your input as well. Thanks and appreciate your videos!
They are not going to open prematurely out of that crossbow, they're good up to 450 or more with one band but if you want to put two on it that won't hurt anything I bet... I would not be using them still if I had problems lol
I use swhacker 100 grain 2" cut with my compound bow and most of my deer fall within 40 yards. I just bought a killer instinct swat x1 and I'll be using the 150 grain 3" with that crossbow. Side note I live and hunt in Maryland but want to hunt Pennsylvania next year🤞
The most notable thing about swhackers is how well they spin test. EVERY SINGLE ONE, spins true. Not a speck of wobble, and considering their fairly long overall length, that's impressive. Another nice thing about them, once you've sighted in with the practice blades, you can sharpen the blades and use them for small game. They work great for groundhogs.
Swa-hackers seem like a good choice after listening to your reasoning. This is my second year hunting with a crossbow and have yet to have any luck. I use the a centerpoint sniper elite 370 and have been watching your channel since I brought it home. Thanks for all the great knowledge and assistance given by you and your family. Love your videos
Hey Rich I just now have seen the video of the schwacker board heads and your thoughts. Love in the video! You hit on points that other users of the swhackers never hit on. Completely spot all video I'm glad you decide to give schwackers a try. And your daughter Genevieve well she's going to be deadly with the crossbow and the swhackers fits that crossbow and her to a t
Replace the factory installed rubber band. I found out the packaging oils cause the installed band to stretch. Mine opened as it left the crossbow. Still hit the 8 point @ 35 yds with a double lung. Huge entrance and huge exit. Swhacker is the only broadhead my Dad will use.
Hey rich great informational video. The guy behind you is mesmerized. I’m shooting black eagle .001 zombie slayers with 50 grain weights screwed to the back of the 110 g insert .with my converted rage 100grain. Hypodermic heads I’m shooting 530grains . Shot a buck yesterday. Heart shot out thru the back leg and kept going??? Lighted nocks and still lost it. Took rage to dermatologist al pitched the collars. Now just like the original antler broadhead with a better point. Anyway, love all your video’s. Your doing wonderful things with your family! All hail bungie !!!
got my first crossbow a few days ago , a CenterPoint CP400 with Ravins HeliCoil tech. ... it's my first archery experience of any kind ever . won't be hunting till next fall but those 3 inch swhackers sure look mean ! really enjoy your channel , take care , Jeff
I do like the larger wound cavity this would create but I have a problem with any mechanical broadhead that uses a collar to keep the blades closed, I feel it is a weak point. That's basically why I have not switched to a mechanical. I am looking at the TenPoint EVO-X CenterPunch and I think I will give them a try, they don't use a collar, it uses the speed and force of the bolt to retain the blades. I will be getting a 100 grain because I am shooting it out of an Excalibur MAG AIR (305 FPS) and I want to stick with manufacturer recommendations.
Speaking from experience, you're going to have a hard time opening mechanical broadheads with that crossbow. That is, unless you go with a heavier arrow. Bunjie shoots 305 ft per second with stock arrows, and around 260 with the arrows I use now, at 563 grains. The swackers work flawlessly on that crossbow now LOL
I've just recently switch over the Swhacker broad heads and so far I'm a fan. I'm shooting the 150 gr 3" out of my cross bow which is an older parker 150lb draw under 300 fps. I've shot two deer with them a doe and a big 9 point. Neither took a step. The doe was a complete pass thru and stuck in the ground on the other side on a 20 yard shot. She jumped up and fell over backwards and kicked. Was dead within 2 mins. The buck I hit high right behind the front shoulder and he dropped in his tracks. Think I clipped spine with the big cut dia. Put a second in him to finish. So no opinion on blood trails yet cuz haven't had to trail anything lol. Nothing beats their accuracy. I'm using the Levi Morgain 125gr 2.5" cut out of my compound but have not shot anything with those yet to see how they do.
Try the grim Reaper Whitetail hunter Broadhead . 100 gr they open to 3 “ the trick is to find a one half inch malt straw and cut about 1/8 inch off the end and band it . That keeps it from opening in flight . When they hit its like a bomb go’s off . They remind me if randbow . Gets the gallon per 100 feet down or GPF down considerably . Happy hunting to ya all from Oklahoma wild man Monk ⚔️⚔️⚔️👍😉🇺🇸
I have a Excalibur 308 short but not because I wanted it, it’s because my dad bought a 10 point & gave it to me. I never thought I’d use it for deer hunting because up until this season Minnesota had a age restriction. Now that I can use it, I’ve been practicing with it & it does seem to fit me good. I also really like shooting my Hoyt so now I won’t be able to decide which one to use every time I go hunting. I have harvested 11 deer with my Hoyt so I want the next one to be with my 308 short, but after that I don’t know witch one to use.
I've been using the exact same other one you showed in the video. Been happy with it! Love your chisel point. But now I'm shooting heavier. I'll buy the 50 grand insert adapters, so I can also shoot them at a pinch, should I need to. Or for my other crossbow. I'm now going a little bit heavier on each crossbow. Not crazy heavy, but definitely heavier.
Oh geez Louise, I know you'll answer, cuz you always do, which in itself says many good things about you. But how's the new gig? Bad time of year to start a new job, but usually is. Hopefully things are going well and looking up in the new position 🤞🙏😏
Wouldn't opening inside be a major disadvantage on account of small entrance hole? Leaves exit hole to hopefully be blood spring rather than entry and exit.
Just switched to the Swhacker 2.25 in. cut 125 grains due to small blood trail with my old Magnus Buzz cuts. Haven't had the chance to shoot anything with them yet.
Oh i need a huge cut and this is sleek in flight but this beauty will slay literally. I love it. Realistic flight and weight practice head too huh. If accurate on heavy arrows full power this is a must to have for me.
My first swhacker from a crossbow (415 fps) opened mid flight this season, throwing off the point of impact. I used them religiously in a compound. Rich, have you found a need to double band your swhackers? I've read this is sometimes necessary.
I hear people saying that but I've never had any issue with them, they give you extra bands so if you want to double them up I suppose you could without too much trouble. But I haven't had any complaints whatsoever. Hope that helps!
Double banding will NOT hinder deployment at all. I’ve used the 100 grain 2” (green) and the 150 grain 3”….. both double banded with my Excalibur Micro 355 with no pre deployment and they opened flawlessly every single time.
Do you have experience with the bear truex bolts? Very new to the bear crossbows...from what I understand you have to use bear arrows for their crossbows
I shot a buck last week with a 434gr arrow tipped with a QAD Exodus with my *gasp* compound bow. I went through the front side humerus, double lunged, center punched the heart and finally through the offside humerus. The interesting part, it left a 4-5" entry slit. No idea how it happened, it doesn't make sense, but it happened. The arrow was laying on top of the leaves 2-3ft from the shot impact site.
Very interesting so the find that open the broadhead on the Swahacker’s are sharpened too I didn’t realize that. That makes them more like a hybrid now.
I just bought 12 rage 100gn broadhead on ebay and I don't know if they are for crossbows I guess ill have to shoot a few and see if they open in flight or if they fly accurately I know they are different for crossbows but didn't think about it when I ordered them because I got 12 for$15 and they are 3 for $48 at Walmart It OS worth a try What do you think?
I used the nap f.o.c. that had a 3 inch cut, did the job when they opened, that looks like a better design for opening up, used grizzlystik 175 overkill this year on a doe and an 8 point
My best broadheads were the old rocky mountain gator with the the original chisel tip in my old 315 fps xbow. Giant slits in and out with pass throughs 99% of the time. Huge blood trails but usually never needed as most dropped in sight. Gonna try the Nap Ti 2 blade heads this season because they remind me of the gators. The only thing I don’t like with the swackers is they make a small entrance hole and if it hit a shoulder in the opposite side they will bleed internally with a poor blood trail. The gator style at least puts a giant entry and exit hole. It also folds around bone for better pentration. Never had a small exit hole on dozens of buck bucks shot with them. Been using the gators since the mid 90’s till my last couple finally got wrecked after going through tons of deer.
@@charlesbeaver5665 I bought a couple packs of the 2 blade Ti 2 3/16" two blade versions to try this year. They are about the closest match to the original chisel tip gators. The cut in contact blade tip version that Bass Pro sells bends and brakes just about every time I shoot a deer with them. No pass throughs either. The Gator black out SS doesn't open like they are advertised. I shot a couple of deer with them and only had 3/4" to 1" entrance and exit with poor blood trails. Tried the NAP double cross with the same poor results. Small holes and no blood trails. Found all my deer as well. Small entrance and exit holes again. I'm hoping the NAP Ti works like the old gators.
I just ordered these to replace my Rage Trypans. Just like you mentioned about the back tab that sticks out the opposite side, therefore hindering the penetration. Yes, I have experienced this twice, and knowing I made a good shot, but the resulting blood trail was pitiful at best, and resulted in the loss of two arrows and broadheads. That's just over $80 blown, and no deer to show for it.
I love these swhacker style broadheads. The only crossbow I have that does not like these is the coldsteel cheapshot, but it is not the broadhead or the crossbow, it is tthe style of the factory arrows having small fletching allowing the closed blades to affect the spin. The fix was to remove the fletching and replace it with 4" fletch, with that fix you have to be careful not to "robinhood" your arrows.
Any thoughts on the new #243 replacement for the #251? I just bought some but am sticking with my older 251's for the rest of the season. One in the freezer so far.
I used Swacker broad heads for hunting Deer. Killed two deer with them. But I didn't like the small blood trail. Swacker only has one large hole at the exit. So I went to Rage Hyperdynamic.two holes for blood to come out of!! Much easier to track the deer!!😮
I’d would like to point out another broadhead for you to read about. It came to my attention when looking at broadheads that would stand up to speeds of 500 FPS. That would be SWAT Broadheads. They are highly praised for accuracy and rated for unlimited speed. The company is owned and operated by veterans. Many available models appear to be hybrid style. Very cool broadheads! SWAT= Superior Whitetail Assassin Technology.
I used the 3” Shwacker out of my Micro 335 last year (stock quil arrows). Worked great on my 3 does, but hit a decent buck, and watched him run off with my arrow, and never recovered him. (I think he ducked and I caught the shoulder, and the Shwacker locked up trying to penetrate the bone, as best I can guess). I switched to a 150 grain Magnus 4 blade broadheads this year, and 530 grain projectiles with Spynal Tapp arrows. I’ve shot 3 deer so far, and all have gone under 60 yards, with two complete pass throughs, and the one that didn’t poked through the far shoulder, and she dropped in sight piling up in 40 yards.
I shot a buck from the top with the 3" swhacker on my 335 also but never pass through and I feel bad for not be able to recover him so never to shoot from the top again.
Yeah. Then swa-hackers do a ton of damage. I like that the blades don’t have to go through the hide and ribs bones on the way in and start to dull them. And yes. If you’re off a little on shot placement def will help within that 3 inch cut. I’m still loving my fixed but to each his own. Good video.
@@Deathbybunjie yeah. Sweet. I put those heads away for now. Went back to my Magnus heads. Come quite sharp but you know me. I get em sharper. Much easier to do with them. Like to tinker. I could of used a 3 in cut though 2 weeks ago. Made a bad shot on my buck. Had to track him with the dog. Ugh.
For what it's worth, the Original Bungie was shooting at the bear with a 577 grain arrow traveling about 250 fps For the boar, the arrow was traveling about 275 fps and weighed about 506 grains. If you are near those numbers, I think you would have similar results. Just my thoughts, and I hope that helps!
Kevin, before having to go to a crossbow, I shot these out of a Hoyt set at 65#. Worked perfectly. Complete pass through every time. My buddy who is in his 70's shoots them out of a compound set at 50#'s. Same result, for him at only 50#

I switched from Swhacker to swat a4 when I switched to crossbow, I liked them. I shot my first deer with my crossbow, 6 inch spike day before last day of deer camp before gun season. Thought I heart punched him with the awesome blood trail. Shot at angle through shoot through netting, hit 6 inches back broke three ribs & came out butt cheek. He was slightly angle towards me at 30 yards. He was dead at 99 yards (99 sounds better than 100 lol). Swat A4 has x blades on front & two different opening blades. He had a huge hole in ham. I won't be shooting through netting any more. Love your videos
The ones I'm shooting out of the Scorpyd are 425 or so, 383 fps...no problems. Worst case scenario you mangle a broadhead on a shoulder blade but I bet it's still a dead deer. Stretch distance too far and you'll lose speed, so watch those long shots. The farther you go the more important a good broadside shot becomes! Good luck out there!
Do you shoot all of your broadheads prior to hunting with them or tune your arrows with with the practice tip that comes with your broadheads? I am thinking of switching to Swhacker broadheads for next year and appreciate your review and feedback.
With new broadheads, I always sacrifice one of them to use as a practice point. It gets dull but at least I get to shoot it over and over. I don't hunt with that one. But, you can then safely assume that the remainder of them fly the same, at least that's the case with most mechanicals. With the swhacker broadheads, I have enough experience with them out of these three crossbows that I just shoot the practice point over and over and over. I have like a dozen practice points and just shoot those. Frankly, there's almost no difference between them and the field points! At least that's our experience.
Neither here or there, but what's up with the mannequin? For your sake, I hope it's a good story!😊 Not related, exactly to crossbow hunting. But one rifle season, I shot two 8 pointers, few days apart, both were heart shots. One ran 75 yds. The other about 125. When I feel dressed them, there was nothing but mush for hearts. The will of the deer, is probably on matched. Or maybe every wild animal? How they could go that far without a heart, absolutely blew my mind! Something I always think about, every shot I take, now!🙆🤷
Why not? The shrink-wrap they use to keep the blades closed is almost guaranteed to not fail. It slides up into the opening blades and slices itself open. Out of all the deer I shot with them, not one had a failure to open, and every deer was recovered, and recovered within 100 yards. Imo, it's one of the most fool-proof designed mechanicals out there.

I was going to try to switch to Rage Hypodermic and I discovered that one of them would not stay shut even with a new collar. I went back to the Swhacker and promptly took down a seven-point buck.
Thanks for the information I’m new to crossbow hunting and have taken my first buck this year. To say that I’m hooked is an understatement
Awesome congrats
I fell in love with Swhackers when they first came out, and I still have several in different grains. That said, with as powerful as bows and crossbows are now, a rear deploying broadhead isn't bad. I've been using Sevrs for the past 2 years and love them as well.
Been using these for 2 or 3 years. Love them.
Thanks for adding us in the video!
Lol that's great. Good luck!
Been using Swhackers for the past 3 seasons. Love them.
i believe in the Swhacker's... i watched a steel drum test and it went right through.. also seen a quartering to shot on a sheet of plywood and it also passed right through.. long live the SWHACKER..
Congratulations on all the success! Happy to see all the developments too.
Bolt cutters and swhackers, older/slower/lighter and newer/faster/heavier...it's like I'm watching myself 10 years ago lol.
All the best to everyone. Been a great season so far.
Yeah boltcutters are so 12 years ago 😄
Slick Tricks. Best broadheads for compound bow and crossbow. Never leave home without them.
I agree that finding a hybrid that will cut at least a 1” cut even if it fails to open. The Muzzy Trocar HBX have two 1” fixed blades and two folding blades that cut 2 5/8” when opened. But if they fail to open there are the two fixed blades cutting.
I use a 150grain shwacker and it works great!
Watched your Maryland videos and there’s no denying those 3 inch SPEAR exit holes are super impressive.
am considering these heads, dyed un the wool trad hunter, shot a recurve for over 47 years at deer, due to a recent torn rotator cuff i have to unstring my widow, but its sit out or buy a crossbow, i aint a quitter. bit the bullet and now own a 425 fps cross bow, looking to go with the 2 inch 125 gr, that will put me in the 430 gr total weight at 409 fps and 1 percent foc, i think it will get me a pass thru, thanks again for posting,
That will pass through anything like you've never seen lol I wish you the absolute best!
I love them because they work and only have two moving parts!
@@Deathbybunjie Thks!
Rich !!!
I just love your wonderful blog and post content!! I love to the adventures that you and your wonderful daughter are having on hunting trips!! I am very amused with broad head debate!! So much fun!! However I am certain that if you put into your quiver two mechanical broads heads and two fixed blade broad heads and you placed four good shots on four different game animals, they all get killed rather quickly!!!!
agree, key is good shots. (for what it's worth--and i have no dog in this fight--these swhackers are perfectly accurate)
@@Deathbybunjie
Outstanding sir !! Outstanding! B

Love the 3" 150 grains on my Wicked Ridge RDX 400 with the Burris Oracle X.
That's a sweet setup for sure!
Great video as always rich , thank you
Sounds good good luck!
Nice looking broadhead but I'm not sold on mechanicals. My 100 grain Muzzy goes in at 1" and comes out the other side at roughly 2". Total bolt weight is 350 grain, which is plenty umpf at 340fps.
I have some my self ! I love them !!!
dammit... ordered the 3" ... now I gotta resight the crossbow in again :p
Good luck!
Rich I use the new rage that doesn't need the collar and the blades are not quite as steep angle
Rich I have been trying to find out what will rain have on the flight of the arrow at say 40 yards and closer
That's why they come with plenty of rubber bands I bet LOL, good tip
I use swacker 100 grians fly like field points works really good I use on 🦌 my buck went only 30 yards blood everywhere
Nice slow-mo and sound effect!
Good to hear and good luck!
Thanks for the input! @@Deathbybunjie
Yeah you make a great point, there's your small game head!
Good luck! And thanks for watching!
Great content as always Rich!!
I'm a Dead Ringer freak nasty fan myself. Amazing penetration and 3 inch cut. Flies as true as field point.
you should take a look at nap dk4
Keep shooting and see what you like, that's great, good luck!
@@Deathbybunjie thanks I will be self filming it & posting on my channel
I've been using the exact same other one you showed in the video. Been happy with it! Love your chisel point. But now I'm shooting heavier. I'll buy the 50 grand insert adapters, so I can also shoot them at a pinch, should I need to. Or for my other crossbow. I'm now going a little bit heavier on each crossbow. Not crazy heavy, but definitely heavier.
I would love to know your opinion on the Levi Morgan Swacker 269 maybe you could do a video
Personally I like the 150gr #251 for modern crossbows...his design seems more appropriate for lower power crossbows and compounds to me
@@Deathbybunjie I like the plugs instead of the bands
Oh geez Louise, I know you'll answer, cuz you always do, which in itself says many good things about you. But how's the new gig? Bad time of year to start a new job, but usually is. Hopefully things are going well and looking up in the new position 🤞🙏😏
It's what I do, it's what I've done for 25 years, should be pretty smooth!
I just a had 2 grim reaper broad head not open up so look for new brand to use love you guys love my Excalibur axe 340 got it last season
You should check out the new SWAT 175 grain 4 blade mechanical with 3.75 inches of cut.
Wouldn't opening inside be a major disadvantage on account of small entrance hole? Leaves exit hole to hopefully be blood spring rather than entry and exit.
Yep, one reason I still like the Rages...there are trade offs in this business for sure
That's the disadvantage to the Swacker. Only a small entry hole. If your arrow doesn't go clear through, you might have a poor blood trail
Love the channel! So funny and informative.
Do you think someone could take the hundred grain Swhackers to 100 yard with the atn scope and range finder. I’ve tested to 70with practice tip
Just switched to the Swhacker 2.25 in. cut 125 grains due to small blood trail with my old Magnus Buzz cuts. Haven't had the chance to shoot anything with them yet.
I got two deer in the freezer because of the 3-in swhacker love it best Broadhead on the market hands down
Oh i need a huge cut and this is sleek in flight but this beauty will slay literally. I love it. Realistic flight and weight practice head too huh. If accurate on heavy arrows full power this is a must to have for me.
Accuracy should NOT be a problem with these
Shoot 100 and 125 grain swhackers and they are devastating. My only complaint is blade durability
Good video thanks for taking the time to make it. 👍 let's do some more cooking 🍳 video ☺
No experience with those, sorry (I tend to find something I like and stick with it haha)
Sweet!
Very interesting so the find that open the broadhead on the Swahacker’s are sharpened too I didn’t realize that. That makes them more like a hybrid now.
Yeah, good point, now I'm less interested in them lol...but yeah, kinda a hybrid
I just bought 12 rage 100gn broadhead on ebay and I don't know if they are for crossbows
I guess ill have to shoot a few and see if they open in flight or if they fly accurately
I know they are different for crossbows but didn't think about it when I ordered them because I got 12 for$15 and they are 3 for $48 at Walmart
It OS worth a try
What do you think?
They will say whether they are for crossbows or not on the box
The NAP Slingblade is similar to the Gator
Neat!
I got some swackers but I use sevr 150 g stainless steel on my crossbow and 100 gr on my compound bow very accurate, probably try swackers next season
Any thoughts on the new #243 replacement for the #251? I just bought some but am sticking with my older 251's for the rest of the season. One in the freezer so far.
Congrats!
@Deathbybunjie Thanks. 2 in the freezer now. Doe and a 5 point. Hope your season is going well.
I got some Swhacker 3" crossbow broadheads, and can't wait to use them on a deer. My son shot a black bear with one last year... awesome performance!
Question for you, do they need a collar?
Spot on!!!!
SWAT= Superior Whitetail Assassin Technology.
How about checking out the cold steel cheap shot broadhead they come in 100 and 125 grain they are about $1 each
Sold me on schwackers. I’ll be using the Levi Morgan 125s this year in my vert bow. I’ll Save my rages for the jackrabbits and barrel cactus.
Just curious have you shot a deer with these yet? I'm using them this year with my compound but haven't shot anything with them yet.
Yeah. Then swa-hackers do a ton of damage. I like that the blades don’t have to go through the hide and ribs bones on the way in and start to dull them. And yes. If you’re off a little on shot placement def will help within that 3 inch cut. I’m still loving my fixed but to each his own. Good video.
These come pre-sharpened lol (although yours are like a mirror when they're sharpened, indeed!)
Ugh.
@@georgekeith7969 funny, you and me both used dogs this year
@@Deathbybunjie there great. Never would of found this buck without him. Dog is plan “c” ? Lol.
Just curious what you think a 65# bow would do with these. I know you're a crossbow channel; but love the content.
@@Deathbybunjie Thanks. Maybe Ill give them a go on testing.
Kevin, before having to go to a crossbow, I shot these out of a Hoyt set at 65#. Worked perfectly. Complete pass through every time. My buddy who is in his 70's shoots them out of a compound set at 50#'s. Same result, for him at only 50#
@@kevinkirk3156 Kevin, I shot these out of a Hoyt set at 65# and complete pass through's every time. My buddy who's in his 70's uses these at 50# and has had the same results at only 50#'s
I never felt good about shooting through netting, either...good deal though congrats and good luck!
Hi do you think a 420 grain bolt doing 400 fps. I chronograph it. Is to lite for penetration on deer over distance
I used them on a few animals but had to switch because I had one farel collapse on a pig.
Neither here or there, but what's up with the mannequin? For your sake, I hope it's a good story!😊
Not related, exactly to crossbow hunting. Something I always think about, every shot I take, now!🙆🤷
Great debate but I'm not sold on them I think I'm going to go with Iron Will two blade 150 fixed or maybe the wide !!!
