Keith, I was looking at the video and I was thinking this man is so humble, he is the king of acapella singing and yet he is not overpowering the congregation as I've seen others do. When I scrolled down to comment I saw your comment. Worship, through singing, is an opportunity to edify and encourage each other; it is not a time to star. Song leaders should take their moment of glory at a concert not at worship. I am a chrictian at the Church of Christ Arima congregation in Trinidad & Tobago since 1975, so I grew up on acapella - the beautiful songs that you have been spirit guided to bless us with. I am not really a singer, although many people told me I have a good alto voice, but I love to sing. Firstly, I listened to acapella on cassettes, then CDs, now online every single day, all day, as far as possible. Your songs have convicted my heart, encouraged me and have kept me yearning for eternity. They have had me in tears so many times; sometimes because they hit the spot in my heart that is experiencing pain or disappointments, and sometimes because they so adequately express the loving kindness, grace and sacrifice of our Abba Father. Just the thought of the Almighty God loving such wretched creatures as us, keeps me faithful and hopeful. May his name be praised forever! May God continue to bestow mighty blessings upon you as he uses you to touch the souls of people everywhere, through songs! I hope one day I can have the experience of singing with you as this is my greatest desire. I was looking at the testimonies from the Praise & Harmony recordings of Christ is Risen, Rescue Me, Let It Rise and 10,000 reasons and I was in tears the entire time. I hope I can have that personal experience with you, as they have done.
I was at a "Praise and Harmony" workshop in Edmonton in 2016, and at no time was he ever "the star". As you said, Keith is a very humble man, but he takes his "worship leadership" VERY seriously. FOR THAT REASON, it COULD appear as though he is trying to be the star of the show. Rather, he is just trying to get the audience to do their absolute best!! If you look hard at this video, Keith gets choked with emotion not once, but it appears to me, twice and he had to quit singing to re-group. I lead songs in our congregation back home (not in Edmonton), and there are some songs I cannot lead, like "I Love The Lord". Well done here ... as usual Keith!!
