IBP South Africa | Strengthening public accountability for results and knowledge

South Africa has 3,000 informal settlements with over 10 million residents, many of whom struggle with access to water, sanitation and refuse removal services. Through their Asivikelane campaign, IBP SA and partners have created channels of engagement between municipal governments and informal settlement residents. They are engaging with 13 networks across 500 informal settlements, to ensure over 2 million residents participate in public budgeting processes and demand accountability for delivery of basic services.
