3% inflation is not the goal, its 2%. You can shush that away saying its 1% but that is 50% higher than its target. After a period in which prices rose 450% more than they do on average. That is more inflation in 1 year than the average president sees in their entire 4 years and we continue to see above average rates of inflation. The people that don't understand this are people like David not living pay check to pay check like so many in this country. Its crushing.

It may not be fair, but it seems rather obvious to most folks that the fear the framers had would be that you would get political figures more committed to their homelands, than their adopted land. I disagree. Cenk definitely wants to see concrete action taken. The problem is I don't think the us abandoning Israel will stop this war. The Israeli may take more losses with less counter rocket ammo but also they would have less reason to hold back at all. Bibi is milking this war for the same reason Trump is running: to stay out of jail. His interests are not the majority of his country 's but only they can uproot him. Unless the US is prepared to take direct action against Israel, which will never happen this war will go on until the sides tire and reach a truce but little more.
I used to be a TYT fan. I unsubbed because of all the negativity and clickbait. I would love to see a more progressive president, but I don't think this is the time, and Cenk is definitely not that candidate, at least for me. I think that anyone who cares about our democracy and women's rights needs to get behind Biden, and try to push them toward the inclusion of more progressive policies. Cenk is wrong. In 1968: Sitting president is Johnson who bows out on March 18, 1968. Nixon then goes on to defeat Humphrey by a narrow margin. It's such a large risk this late in the campaign for Biden to dropout and another candidate to rise. The replacement candidate would have to battle other candidates for the nomination, all while having Trump attacking them. It would be horrible to give Trump an election victory.
General Democrat is beating Trump by 10 points. Biden is losing to Trump. There is no amount of chaos and contentious battle at a convention that can hurt Democrats more than Biden is currently hurting them. There is no comeback that Biden can possibly make that gets back all of his supporters, and he only won by 50,000 votes last time, so even if he got back 95% of them, that's still probably a loss. And right now, there hasn't been ANY positive momentum in his approval rating for nearly a year. There is no indication at all that he is on the cusp of turning around his situation, and if the election were held right now, Trump would win every swing state other than maybe Pennsylvania and New Hampshire. Biden is beyond toast until there is an absolute miracle. Johnson, had he stayed in, would have had a much better chance than Biden has right now.
I think he's wrong as well. He hasn't figured out that it's not the candidates who are on the line, it's political philosophy.

The only reason Trump lost was because of COVID. He was the worst president in American history, would've lost the popular vote twice, and STILL been reelected because of how many voters just gave him their vote anyway.
If people aren't happy with another Biden/Trump rematch, the only opportunity to change that was in the primaries, and the voters have spoken. Both men are the presumptive nominees. So any displeasure with that is kind of too little, too late.

Cornell West doesn't have the numbers to win as a third party candidate either. Both candidates are definitely to Biden's left. If people truly wanted a younger, more progressive pick, Williamsen was right there, and she was doing press and interviews out the wazoo. She still lost in spectacular fashion, and a primary debate wouldn't have changed that.
If it did, then Florida wouldn't have reelected DeSantis, who got trounced during his debate and, on multiple occasions, was left looking like a deer in headlights.
The reality is that, if voters actively wanted different candidates besides Biden and Trump, then the two men wouldn't have handily won their primary races. Because the republicans actually DID have a primary race which Trump didn't participate in at all, and still won easily.
Biden wasn't even on the New Hampshire primary caucus ballot, and still won, getting more votes than everyone else in the race combined.
