    In addition to all the other desirable qualities (dead-centre tuning, etc), Alan Thurlow always managed to impart to his trebles' timbre a sort of golden glow, at once warmly inviting and coolly refreshing. It can be heard from the opening entry here, and it made his dozen boys as distinctive as any in the world. Thank you for this recording, worth hearing despite slightly dubious sound quality.
