Thank you. I already have a JavaFX app that i made a couple of years ago that i was not happy with. It was one of those "we need a simple window that do this for tomorrow..." that become a huge mess over time, specially because i had no idea about javafx at the time. Now i wanna start a new one and do it well. This is a great help. Specially how to handle more than one stage and change betweem them.
I am not sure if anyone else will have this same issue but for me I was not getting the images to appear when I ran the java code from the main.java file. What I found was that I did all the steps correctly however you may have to click on the little gear icon after setting the image path and manually select the "set to absolute path". This project is great! Thank you for the simple explanations. Scenebuilder is a bit confusing to a newbie like me. I really needed to learn this for uni like the other viewers.

I've followed this tutorial exactly, but I keep getting an error that says Cannot invoke "javafx.scene.control.Label.setText(String)" because label is null, and I don't understand why. The code looks pretty much exactly the same, there are no errors. So I don't know what's wrong
does this work for a mobile scene view? I get errors when I try to run the sample.fxml in a mobile view. maybe there's another library I need to download? any help appreciated!
Hi, could you please provide some advice for how to make this work depending on user permissions? I had a button that distinguished "type" based on the credentials the user entered, but for a more appealing UI, I tried to get rid of the button and make it so it would automatically recognize if the user was a admin or not depending on the "type" they were in the database. I am having trouble with this and any advice would be super helpful.Thanks :)
You can add an registration scene in which you can add the user role to the database. Then, when the user logs in you can change scenes depending on the user role. You can have as many FXML files as you want and display them once you read the user role from the database to Java. Simple if command should do. Hope this helps.

Once I removed it, I am still having difficulty reading in the user role with the username and password. Would I need two separate queries? I'm just a bit lost on pulling the user role from the database, as my username and password are pulled using the text fields and then compared.
Main is the name of the main application java class file. if yours is named Hello-application then it must be Hello-application m = new Hello-application()
